I've been a fan since 2010 or so. My girlfriend at the time was really into underground metal bands and suggested I would take a listen to Alcest. So I listened through Souvenirs d'un autre monde and Ecailles de lune - albums multiple times on a 8 hour night train trip. I remember being completely blown away and didn't even realize music like that could exist.
I'm not a concert goer at all even though I'm somewhat a musician myself and love performing, but I went to see Alcest live last summer (finally) Best decision ever. I went through the same feeling of being blown away as I did when I first heard their music. I tried to stay on lookout if I could catch Neige after their show so I could thank him for his amazing music, but unfortunately didn't see him at the festival grounds.
I'm going through some hard times but thankfully I have music like Alcest to keep my hopes up for the future and to inspire me.
So Neige if you read this, thank you. And please come back to Finland soon.
Why so short? Full-length documentary would be wonderful!
I love that his music is some kind of elixir of dreams that are amazingly translated into melodies. Neige is literally a modern shaman, a healer of souls 🤍

Such a special band to me. They’re so ethereal and transcendental, not many inspire me and get me feeling the way they do. Hopefully they can come to the U.S. sometime soon.

He basically inspired post black metal. I can't find any good bands from that awesome genre anymore, unfortunately.
I've always loved this band, I had the pleasure to see them this year.
Their music is beautiful, but their members are so egocentric, they did not even want to sign records, cds, vinyls, not even took a picture with their fans, which is why they're here, what an unpleasant experience.
Maybe they didn't have much time. At Prophecy Fest I saw Zero (their guitarist for live shows) chilling with other people in front of the venue. And for Neige, I think he's more introverted than egocentric. About 10 years ago I saw him wandering through the crowd during a small festival but he doesn't seem to like much interaction. Your last sentence makes you sound entitled. They are there to put up a great concert which they always do, not to please your wish for attention.
They're not there to make pictures but to perform a concert. I saw them twice and I was able to talk to Neige and make a picture. We had a really good talk and he seems like a nice person. I don't think you can call people egocentric just because they maybe don't have time for pictures and autographs.
If you refer to the Bogota show, they already were signing stuff for a while, and then unfortunately had to leave because they were taking a very early plane the morning after the show. It was exceptional and when the conditions allow it they always take the time to take pics and talk to their fans. From what their fans say they are a really accessible band, most bands don't even do all that...
I don't know why you would ever assume that the reason bands go on tour is to take pictures with fans and sign stuff?
Just seems like common sense that the reason bands tour is to 1: play for their fans, and 2: make money.
I've never once in my life stopped a band member and asked them to sign anything or take a picture. Just seems rude if anything.
I guess they had to leave early because of their touring schedule or some messy condition. I talked, took a pic, chilled with Neige at their show. He came after the set to their merch table and spend quite a long time there to meet the fans, Winterhalter came right after. Also met Zero and Indria in the audience area where Cradle of Filth was playing. Btw Neige also signed my stuff. They are one of the few bands that I can consider humble and down to earth. Very accessible to their fans and nothing kind of rock-star at all for me.
