- So here is the entire train ride on the Skylink People Mover at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. I was going to edit it to speed it up but then I know there would be people that want to see the video unedited. I got on at Continental gates by E9 and rode it around the airport to Terminal C, A, B, D, and E. You will see lots of American Airlines, Delta, Midwest, Frontier, Airtran, Korean Air, Spirit, Continental, US Airways. Good views of the airfield and lots of planes
Beautiful HD quality! Man DFW has changed dramatically since the installation of skylink. Believe it or not, prior to 2005, this airport was using an older system called vought airtrans. Originally installed in 1974, at the time, it was the 1st fully automatic and largest airport people mover system in the world, and it's no wonder it got replaced in 2005, especially since the 70s technology was getting so outdated, but it's a good thing that we now have the proper technology necessary for an airport this massive to have an efficient people mover!
I flew out of DFW a lot in the late 70s to late 80s.. Its changed a lot since then. Last flight out was in 89.
On August 18th, DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) will open up the DFW Airport Station, which will link DFW directly to Downtown Dallas.
There 10 stops for the Outer Loop Skylink.

I've had a layover at DFW between St. Louis and Orlando on American but I'm only 6.5 to 7 hours from Dallas the Skylink definitely helps out our airports could use something like that like Kansas City could use a light rail system that connects to all 3 of the terminals at KCI
Isn't American supposed to retire MD-80s here pretty soon? Those always used to be my favorite planes to fly on. I know they make up for most of the planes every time I fly into DFW.
Thanks for your video, was trying to understand how to get from and to my gates.
All i can say is wow that is a big Airport!. I have never ever flown before. Me and my family will be going on a trip soon and this video has helped me get an idea of what to lookout for when we arrive to DFW. Thanks!
thank you , it's really helpful, I have to transfer from B to D, and I had no idea how until i saw your video. Thumb up!
I remember riding this twice in 2006. Both times it was a layover between San Jose and Orlando.
You need a plane ticket... Or if your elite and accompanying someone who is disable they will let you in with a gate pass, or if you are a club member at United Club they will give you a gate pass, or you can buy a refundable ticket, go ride the train then cancel your ticket before departure time and leave the airport and get your money back.
This is great! I made a Skylink video this morning because I got on and it was completely empty. I was so excited that i had to film something. It's a very interesting trip, and I love thinking about how you're in a "security" zone, but just outside the train isn't. I don't know. It's surreal to me somehow.
@hersan33 As in a public transit system. We have commuter rail and light rail. The light rail has a subway station at City Place. I think it one of the deepest if not the deepest subway station in the country. They are currently building the line to DFW Airport. The orange line will go to the airport to downtown Dallas.
@ksman577 Thanks for the comment! I like how you can see the whole airfield from the Skylink. At Houston I have a good part of it on youtube. If you go to the Playlist section on my channel and then click Museums/Tours/Airports. It is the last video. Now that Terminal A station is open at IAH I will make a video of the whole Houston IAH Skylink. A to D/E.
@captin174 I started flying them in 1998 from Dallas Love Field. Love Field is closer to my house and much easier for me to get to. Also over the years CO has provided me excellent service so I have made them my airline of choice and only fly with them.
Wish me some luck cuz tomorrow I'll be at that airport 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
My 15 year old will be flying alone for the first time tomorrow; he will be connecting to a different flight in DFW from one terminal to another. He's very visual, so watching this video was SO HELPFUL for him to feel confident in knowing what to do to make his tight connection! I appreciate the full length because it gave him an accurate measurement of how long he will be on the train. Thank You!
Thanks so much for this video! My international flight tomorrow was taken from the international terminal D to terminal C and I was quite worried I wouldn't be able to get my duty free liquor. I live 15 minutes from this airport, been to it many times and never knew this train existed
Very good vid. My girlfriend and i rode the skylink at DFW 3 weeks ago, all the way around 3 times. We had a 3 hour layover, and nothing else to do, but that was fun. We also took video from the skylink but haven't posted it yet. Can you do a video of IAH train or do you have one on here already?
@gigglyspaz If you are flying out of Houston. I would take CO! They are a better airline too. I don't like old MD-80s. That seems to be the majority of what American has at DFW.
Great Airport!
I am frequent flyer to Dallas from Lisbon
I usually fly British Airways from Lisbon to London Heathrow, then I take either a British Airways or American Airlines from London Heathrow to Dallas Fort Forth :D
Riding the Skylink is fun. It is my favorite part of DFW Airport. Most of my connections from MSY to SAN (and vice versa) occur at DFW, and I never avoid the Skylink (even if I don't need to take it to another terminal.)
The Skylink is an awesome experience. DFW was a great place to stop on my way from Fresno to OKC. It's worth taking the Skylink to Terminal D to eat because they have really great food there.
Really nice video. I am going to transfer here next month. This place is a huge American Airlines base, mostly MD-80s. I don't really see a lot of MD-80s in other American bases such as LAX.
Thanks for sharing this video. I know you know this, but it is Cowboys Stadium NOT Texas Stadium. TX Stadium was in Irving and it was imploded to make room for a DART station.
Awesome video! :) Now what would've been hilarious is if you had told whoever u asked what airline u work for that you only fly CO....errr I mean UA lol.
This is really helpful! I'm flying for the first time in May and only have a 45 min layover in Dallas and wasn't sure how this worked! Thanks!
I'd like to do this too, but I'm not flying anywhere...do you have to have a plane ticket to get through security to ride the Skylink?
Yeah there are cameras in the cars, but you can film. This is a helpful video for those connecting at DFW airport.
@azworx Yeah, AA keeps the Md-80s based at DFW. I can't imagine what it is like to fly planes that old. It wouls suck.
I have a question: how did you film this without the idiots at the TSA jumping on you? And wouldn't they have TV cameras in the cars?
how long is the full track for the Skylink? I lived in the DFW area for 8yrs and flew from DfW a lot
@dearmichelle101 Cool. I use the train almost every time I go to Houston to change planes.
@96texan Thanks for the comment man. Glad you like it. No the satellite terminal not in use.
@020808 Oh and im flying out of iah and i dont know which airline to take. Continental or American?
The skylink trains are now orange instead of blue
@gigglyspaz American Airlines is the main airlines at DFW . Its their largest hub.
Thank you for your time and showing us the airport! i loved and favorited the video bye :)
My parents and I are from Henderson, Kentucky. We've been flyin' from EVV to DFW a lot.
Man, it looks totally different now with the more modern fleet.
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you found the video useful. Safe travels.
Its Cowboys Stadium not Texas Stadium
great video! at 19:55, do you know if that satellite terminal still in use?
I´m from Argentina, I was in DFW airport in June, it's just amazing...
Thanks for letting me know. U'm glad you found this video helpful.
I rode it the other way, though. I think. Mayes not, it was a few years ago
that airport is huge, neat and beautiful with all the shiny AA planes around.
@020808 Alright i ordered continental tickets today (: Thanks for your help !!
I liked this airport a lot very up-to-date than others I've been to
* here's hoping that I will be able to enjoy riding on this thing soon... *
Favorite Airport to have a connection thru, more like mall then a airport.
thats crazy that aerobridges at DFW can connect to turboprops
Awesome video..I'm venturing to DFW for the first time, in a few weeks.
i loved the video :') a lot of people love DFW International Airport.
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you like the video.
@aldocost I was either going to Houston or Newark.

You passed one jumbo jet must had not been a busy day
Shit I meant to put that in the search bar
Is american airlines the main one tat dfw?
Neat. Thanks for the comment!
I rode on the skyline once. It was neat
LOL American Airlines owns this aiport!
why won't u fly Spirit? lol
What is your name and how old are you?
@gigglyspaz yes. very much so.
Please invest in a tripod.
can u ride the train and still get into concourses without going through security again?
Yes, once you are past security, you can ride the train anywhere without going back through.
Gonna be there on wednesday
did you make your flight?
All i see is American Airlines
where were u departing to
I am flying out of my local airport to DFW then from there to Los Angeles I'll be on American Airlines both flights my question is will AA flight be in the same terminal?
My father was here recently and apparently American Airlines serves A, B, C, and D
You have the check the day of your flight. American Airlines like the posted above says can be in Terminals A, B, C or D.
Thanks!!!
British airways takeoff
Cuz it's their hub
Like the atr-72
@020808 ok lol
great video man Im going abroad 3 times this year so I am going to record the airports there
Thanks man!
not a problem dude
Do you need to ride the skylink to get to other terminals or can u walk the whole airport??
You need to ride the skylink
You can walk between A, B, C, and D gates, but to get to E, you'll have to take the Skylink.
This has to be the worlds largest airport.
2nd
