@@amanda.outside yay! I am very excited! I recently got a cast iron skillet, and I want to make sure I don't ruin it while camping 😅 THAN YOU in advance
Wash the iron with soap and RINSE thoroughly with hot water. Then burn it dry on your stove at home. When it's completely dry, wipe it with a paper towel and olive oil. Rub it in all over while it's still on the fire til it's almost dry. Turn off fire and let it cool before hanging up or packing away. This way you've removed all the cast iron residual dust from manufacturer. You can also rub in a garlic clove at the same time you rub in the oil. The best "seasoning" for irons is make a spaghetti sauce then just rinse out real good and always, always burn dry!
6 days later? & we’re having an excessive heat warning !!! Great introduction to mr.spider who is so well camouflaged!!! Have fun- be careful ! I liked the music
Love your videos. Have you considered doing a review of the Utah big 5 parks and WHERE to camp and stay during May - October? I want to do this trip over 7-8 days.
How do you keep fresh fruit and veggies cold? how many/how big are your cooler(s)? How do you manage space in your car? Asking cus I've been wanting to do a long distance camping trip.
Amanda, that is the cleanest nicest grill/fire pit in a public place I've ever seen. Most times you wouldn't even think of cooking on a public grill without foil. what's the story there? Is it just like that in Utah?
Hiii can you make a video with recommendations for campgrounds in SoCal. I see a lot for NorCal not much around me. Love your content ! Gave me a lot of inspo for meals I wanna make once we find a place !
iOverlander app has campground and wild camping locations for all over, not just SoCal. It’s been helpful for us finding a spot. That app has been helpful for me.
Here in GJ, CO, the weather has been less than friendly towards camping on the weekends this spring. It's gotten better recently. I'm going to try your Dutch oven pizza recipe again, with pepperoni of course. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
I'm so excited about the long summer days ahead and cooking good meals over the campfire. I hope you enjoyed this one! Comment below with the videos you want me to make this summer! xo - A
Food, packing, set up and break downs of camping spots! Cleaning? Just had a massive barebones living haul and I want to keep my new cast irons in top shape on the trail!
How do you keep from getting lost? That's always my fear 🙈 😲 How's it car camping when you have a tent? Aren't you worried about snakes? Spiders? Biting ants? Bees? Bugs and insects in general. Oh and what about bears?
Hello Amanda, very nice car camping adventure. I bet that cold water felt good on your feet and kept any swelling down from the hike. Very delicious foods too. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
Looks like someone beat me to this question! But yes, a video about caring for your cast iron pans and dutch oven would be much appreciated. Especially after cooking something greasy like bacon. 🏕🥓
egg tip! put raw eggs into silicon trays (like the ones for power bars) and freeze them into blocks. The eggs will cook even if frozen but hey, they transport well until they melt down and cook just fine then, too. :D
What an amazing video, my friend! Nice camping! The nature is amazing.. Enjoyed watching. Cheers from Russia, Amanda , and welcome to my channel about bushcraft! Bestregards, Yuriy!
DAVE’S BREAD, made locally here is Arizona, is the only bread I eat that I haven’t made. All Organic, sprouts, seeds, thin sliced! Perfection Bravissimo. I’m looking forward to Vegan/vegetarian ideas. 😉🏕😉
Love your use of the pre-cooked chicken sausages! It’s always nice to not have to worry and clean surfaces with raw meat while camping! Thank you for the inspiration!
Hope you show the frittata recipe. That sounds yum! Save time and assemble the kabobs at home. There are plenty of containers that are just the right size and you can lay them in one and seal it up. If you like them flavored, the night before you leave, marinade them in whatever you like…teriyaki is a good one…pour off the marinade and place in container. You can pre-cook and freeze ahead of time things like rice and noodles. Pack them in your cooler as an extra cold pack.
Do you have any tips for either meals that don’t go bad as fast, OR keeping food colder longer when you have a low budget for a cooler 😂 I tried freezing a water jug but after 2 days weekend camping I wasn’t sure if my food was the right temp.
Hey great video again. Love your food ideas. Haven't had the courage to try avocado toast. Didn't grow up with avocados so dipped my toe into that food for salad and very mild guac. Other stuff looked great. Curios what sandal you were wearing to hike? and can survive water.
I'm a newbie camper and am so glad I came upon your you tube channel! I do have a question; I love coffee and noticed your coffee maker for camping. Would you be able to put the make of this and where you bought it? I like the pour over coffee for camping. Thank you! Anne
Hey, thanks for the video, love all your camping tips! Was wondering, the spatula you used for the eggs, is that the non stick one on Amazon? I really need one of those! Thanks!
I pretty much always bring my own grill, but I actually forgot it on this trip and got lucky that the fire pit you saw in the video was new, and the grill was in good condition! Usually the grill grates at campgrounds are pretty dirty, so that's why I prefer to bring my own. For cleaning, I've found that if you crumple up a piece of aluminum foil, that acts as a scrub brush in a pinch to get the grit off. Then I rinse it with water and repeat the process until it's clean. But again, I pretty much always pack my own grill, so that I don't have to worry about that while camping!
Great video thoroughly enjoyed watching that thank you for uploading it 🙌 did you see any snakes out there? Just watched Mavs latest upload from the canyons there was Rattle snakes everywhere and he had sandals on 🙄 lol stay safe till the next video 🙌🚚♥️
I think its super awesome that we have both recently purchased the same yeti cup lol. Do you know if they make a cupholder adapter for it, i just set mine on the seat while driving.
Can you please make a video about caring for cast iron while camping?😀
Yes! I have started outlining that video. 😁

Thank you so much for your support!
Hi! Thanks for the ideas! Can you share any info about the glove you used on the grill?
Can't go wrong with avocado toast
Thanks for all your Tipps Amanda. We love your videos. My kids and i love to hike and camping. Greetings from 🇨🇭🇨🇺🇨🇭

I really haven't camped in Southern California, so unfortunately I don't have any good recommendations for that area.

Where do you buy the Dave's bread
Hi! What sunglasses are you wearing?
Is it possible to live in a van for years in national forests? Is it even a thing to be able to do it anyplace?

So glad you love the vlogs! Thank you for the video suggestion 😁

Me too! It's so simple, but I find myself craving it in the mornings. It's so good!
Bless you guys, you're so normal and make camping really look appealing, still giving all the right informations! 😭💖
I saw you...you went in for a double dip on the hummus!
haha yea I probably did!
I thought you were camping alone. Oh well.
I am not familiar with your channel yet.
always love a good camping what I eat in a day 🏕😁

All of that looked wonderful! Looking forward to the Dutch oven frittata video!
I really enjoy watching your video from Japan ! My goal is to complete Mt. Fuji and good for learning English as well ✨
What do you use to boil your coffee water in? I didn't see it listed. Everything tastes better outdoors, especially coffee

The cold water felt amazing! I wish it was a little warmer out and I would have probably gone swimming 😁
I really enjoy watching your videos. You guys have some really great adventures, and your camp meal cooking is always fun to watch! Keep living life!
Thank you for watching! 😁
I feel happy just watching these videos!! Been feeling down lately and this makes me so happy. hope I can go camping one day!!
You are so cute and I'm grateful you choose to share your life with us here on UA-cam.

The avocado toast would taste a lot better with some lemon juice. What about boiled eggs? Seem like less work and it's easier to clean up
