As an audiologist, the ear cleaning portion made me cringe more than I can explain! Ear wax is healthy and normal, it has antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Cotton swabs and most of those tools have no place inside ears and cleaning should be done in the least risky manner (typically water) or with specialized medical tools by an audiologist or ENT, only when the wax buildup is sufficient to cause a problem. It’s absolute BS that you were told to do it once per month (I’m sure they would love the $$ though). Your elbow obviously doesn't fit in your ear. See my point? This feels like one of those "you must be beautiful" scams, if that makes any sense. No reason to do it, except for removing "gross" things that belong in your body. Earwax is very important for our ears, and while I'm talking about it, so is your snot! EDIT: And your neck and back, but that's a different topic. Not every single treatment is actually important. In fact, quite the opposite, in cases like ear cleaning.
