Well it's the holidays and this year they mean doing whatever we can to make people smile. That means lots of ornaments to me, everyone who has seen one of my ornament installations smiles and then asks how I do it. In this year's update, I tackle a traditional strung ornament garland and also show my technique. I show you how I make my wild ornament sculptures like the ones shown here: • Holiday Magic | Holida...

I get my music & sound fx from Soundstripe, as a newer UA-camr I wanted a custom feel to my soundtracks without the crazy cost of some of the big licensing companies that charge by song, with Soundstripe-it’s one monthly or annual fee and unlimited access to their library which I find full of cool, contemporary and interesting options. This is genius. I just did a couple of big long ball garland, and now that I have watched this I am taking them all apart. And doing them this method. I already did a small part for one of my pine garlands and it looks so good. And a lot less ornaments. Thank you so much for sharing. I am now a subscriber and I will watch other videos that you have❤
thanks so much! these videos always get a lot of views around the holidays and let’s just say-not the greatest feedback on me or my chatting. Happy holidays and merry christmas!
I like that you go slow and explain every detail ! I can actually watch and do it w you
lol 🤣...." would have been good if it worked the first time"... I love you...and im new here. Bless you that i found this wonderful way to do this. I completely agree with the waste of ornaments the traditional way. Thank you sooooo much.❤
I was hoping you would do a new garland video this year! I prefer your method to the traditional version. Thank you for your posts!! A thousand times over!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
WOWOWOW
This is beautiful work, thank you SO much for sharing it with all of us. Your kitty is adorable too!!!
This was so informative and I love that you TALK as much as you do. Keep doing YOU and creating and inspiring others to create and spread beauty. Thank you & Happy Holidays to you & Stella (1 of our dogs is named Stella).
So lovely useful video.Thank you for sharing it with us. And I am enjoying seeing your such a cute cat .She loves being on a table with you making video too
I commented in a previous video I love all your chatter it makes me feel like I’m talking with a friend. Lots of little tips.
First time here…you are a joy to watch. 😊 Thank you! I’m going to make one this week using your method.
thanks so much! please find me on instagram to share your design @sullivan_owen I'll be getting started on my project next week!
I’ve been waiting for this video!!!!! So excited. Thank you!!!!!
Hope you like it!! Happy Holidays!
Every video I watch the owner is upset or hurt because some idiot said something critical and rude. These people do this on purpose to upset others. Both men and women on farms, saving dogs, cooking and crafts have been criticized. Don’t even acknowledge them. You do a great job. This is my first time watching you. We go to these Sites for information. If they don’t need it fast forward. You do a great job.
thank you, I understand they aim to wound and it's hard not to respond or take it personally. I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!
Super cute video! Just discovered your channel, loving it :)
Thank you so much!
The interesting part of the video is around minute 15:00
I did the same mistake first while trying to do a cluster😂, so happy you showed it how not to do it and then how it works easily 👍😻
thank you!
Thank you for that, the cat chat is driving me insane! 🙄
LOVE LOVE LOVE your style of delivery. I feel like I'm sitting in the kitchen with a girlfriend whipping out crafts! Keep it up girl! Thanks for sharing your talent!
Yay! Thank you!
Great. I’ll just make some popcorn and wait for this year’s finished mantle vid.
one woman show over here, can't do everything all at once, film it, edit it and get it posted in real time!
... so you’re saying I should make more popcorn?
;)
and cats! we like the cats. throw in a couple more cats.
yes, make some more popcorn-I post on Fridays! we have 7 cats but most are not as cooperative as Stella but I'll do my best, if only they could help with projects. Thanks for your patience!
Just found you & Luv your style! Does the cap on the Vickerman ornament stay on and/or the caps secured w glue? Will be following you for more practical & sensible ideas. TY!
the larger sizes of the Vickerman ornaments are drilled through and wired which I really like as I use that hole to secure them. The smaller ones are glued and will pop off with alot of stress but I tend to work large to small so they haven't been an issue for me. Thanks so much for watching and following, I'm busy stringing ornaments for this year's project 😃
I would love to see how the first strand looks when placed into a xmas tree. Ive been battling making one of these garlands using chenille wires which have to be covered with green florist tape......I've now given up...too hard. Im going to try your version instead. Im wondering if I put them into a tree how they would come out....would all that wire get twisted up etc or would it remove easily. Also wondering how to store them without the wire twisting and they all end up like xmas tree lights....LOL. thanks. Watching from Australia.
hi there! I haven't actually wrapped them around a tree. Last year I did put them on a big conduit which I wrapped around a tree which worked well. That might be my suggestion rather than wrapping the wire around the tree branches which would definitely get twisted and need to be cut off. I actually cut them all apart each year and store them in bins. You can always come find me on instagram and send me a pic/ask questions. Thanks for watching!
I am so happy I found your video. I had made a list of family members that past away and wanted to do a memorial Christmas tree. I thought of doing a garland with the balls and was not sure how to go about it. Since I had 32 names I did not want them to just hang and get lost so the wire was brilliant. Is it jewelry wire? I ask since you said the garland gets heavy. I saw the one you have posted and went with that one to start off. Thank you. Again, I am happy to have found your video.
HI there, I use 28 gauge silver wire-either sold as florist wire or jewelry wire but you can use green if you want it to blend more for the tree. I love the idea of a memorial tree and I'm sure it will be beautiful. If you're using glass ornaments, a heavier wire might help or check out the tree garland video (I put a link on this video) you might just wire each one to the branches but put them close together so they look like one garland. Happy holidays!
Oh! I just came for the cat……..😜😜😜😜😜
she's pretty special
How long was r wire when u started out
i usually work on 5 ft sections but it depends on what you’re doing with it when done and of course how many ornaments you have.
Very nicely done! The ornaments in the intro and ending...where are they from? Love, love how you do it! Makes it so much more controllable and with electrical conduit..perfect! Waiting to see how you get it on the wall, because you are so creative.
hi Anne! all my ornaments are from Vickerman, including the clear and all the pinks/pastels. I got sidelined by a cold but I'm better now and headed into 4 days of finishing up all the holiday work! thank you!!
I’m smiling. Sharing! 🎄🎄
Thank you friend, someday you'll be able to come over- though if you're not careful I'll make you string ornaments with me 😂
I live that you talk and explain everything but OMG You didn’t show the finished look
yes I did, see the completed holiday projects to see what I do with them. I make a small section for the demo, I use these ornaments in huge installations outside my home. I’m not comfortable filming in my house and so I shared how I work with the materials and later when I’ve finished the outdoors I show the completed work. Unlike a lot of channels I’d rather show you what I do so you can make up your own instead of duplicating something I’ve come up with.
