I just installed a FMF Q4 w/Powerbomb header, JD Jet kit and 3x3 mod. I am super happy the the performance and sound, definitely not quite but also won’t piss off the neighbors!
I just picked up a MRD ZPRO shorty. Support your local company and get the most bang for buck. Don't worry about the noise, you'll get used to it afterwards along with good sound cancelling ear phones/plugs. Shipping time for my exhaust was about 3 weeks from start to finish.
have a 2015 dr400s had the same thought stock exhaust for 2 years quieter better until i got anew tire which than was rubbing up against the exhaust so i decided to get delkevic full system 8 inch shorty cant beat the price and its actually made very well bolted straight on very loud with the baffle off and i love it people hear me move out the way then before from the sound of the stock exhaust my bro has an mrd great sound and performance

@@thomasmyers6000 I don't think it's super loud myself. It's louder than stock but it's not annoying at all. Nobody has ever complained to me that the bike is loud. Actually I sometimes take the spark arrestor out on the streets to make it a little louder cause it's pretty tame to me. I have tons of videos on my channel on the bike. If you watch I don't think you'd consider the bike loud in any of the videos.
@@dualsportdiary1150 thanks so much man I appreciate it! Does the spark arrestor change the flow of the exhaust? My point being I plan to re-jet the carb for a high flow exhaust, will taking the arrestor in or out change what do to the carb? Or does it not change the system much?
@@thomasmyers6000 you'll be fine if you jet it for the exhaust. The spark arrestor just gives A little more raspy high pitch sound if you take it out. You don't have to rejet again if you remove the apart arrestor.
@@thomasmyers6000 I might not be able to do it tonight. But I can probably make a video tomorrow and show everything. You can hear the sound and I'll take out the arrestor and you can see it and hear the difference, if it even makes a noticable difference on camera
You might want to check out Leo Vince exhausts. They cost a little bit more but you never have to repack them either. To me they have a great sound. Deep and throaty without that harsh bark. Just something to check out maybe.
i got an mrd exhaust on my drz its shorter louder one and it does add a bit more power although its not insanely noticeable you do feel it if you're familiar with the stock exhaust and its not incredibly loud if you're out in the open but when i start it in my garage which is a pole-barn so its about the size of a small house it deafens you a little.

SoCal Moto yeah for sure! Here in Seattle it's a bunch of entitled overpaid yuppy mother fuckers. A motorcyclist just had to shoot and kill a driver here. It was ruled self defense. Driver 100% at fault and now dead. People here are psychotic.
I got an MRD shorty on my 17' drz400sm and it's a massive difference in decibels but I didn't notice any power improvements tbh. Also my bike won't go near 80mph with the same gearing you have(my 15/41 vs your 15/42 right?). Still trying to figure that one out.

MRD hits the engine where the engine kick start mod goes. Thats bad craftsmanship. Kickstart a must mod for a drz400 so u never get stranded when u kill or drain the battery
I've always used FMF or Yoshi but my DRZ came with a Two brothers slip on... sounds amazing! check my vids. You can get great power jetting without cutting you air box that's my input Cheers bro
FMF sucks it’s the least powerful on a DRZ I have the MRD is the most powerful and the loudest you can look it up it’s a copy of the YoshiMira titanium exhaust which is no longer made I also have a JD jet kit installed and 3 x 3 airbox mod If you do get the MRD get the heatshield mounting kit that they sell so you can put your factory heat shield on that’s what I have

Delkevic makes some sweet looking slip-ons and full systems and they are reasonably priced.

Hands down you cannot beat the Yoshimura RS3 slip on with an MRD header pipe.
The sound, maintenance, look and performance is the best for the bike.

SoCal Moto Yeah that makes sense. Make sure you get a good jetting kit, or you might get stuck constantly fiddling, the woes of carbs
