The silver bowl with the blue inside is by Reed & Barton and is called a Paul Revere bowl. It's a silver plated bowl with a colorful enamel inside. My parents gifted one to my grandmother in the 70s or 80s. I recently picked up a Reed & Barton nut dish with an adorable squirrel handle at the flea market - it's so cute!
Pothos is beautiful green leafy plant that will thrive in the smallest of planters and would look beautiful in that hanging planter!
The pilgrim pair are very cute! That was pretty expensive per piece I agree. Should have been 6.00 for both😉
Love Americana decor. Faux plants in the hanging basket. No on the big wall hanging stuff....but then someone would like them. Bowl....OMG....yes.
The gold angel was a hobbyist piece, I find them often in a variety of colors, I think they were made in the 70’s.
I love that Garfield "Gone by the wind" figurine (Clark Gable as Rhett Butler impersonation.) :D
I find it puzzling that some people leave chipped and broken things to thrift shops. I would just toss them if I didn't want them anymore. One thing is to keep an item for affection, as long as it means something to you, and gives you some joy, even if it's chipped or glued. Maybe you got it from your mother when you were a child? But to give it to a thrift shop, I don't get it...
the little vintage Japan items are quickly sliding into history
Our porch, foyer and formal dining room are Americana from 1 May, Thru July. Covers Memorial day, flag day and 4 July. Have a year round Christmas tree in dining room, and the patriotic theme on it is my favorite after the winter theme.
Succulents in the hanging planter, a lot of them spill over & would work great!
that was what I was thinking.
I love those lamps at 2:25-ish. I understand there is no reselling profit there but would have picked those up for myself ♥♥
What a load if tat! Made me realise how good UK charity shops are
I guess the turkey was meant to hang in a window or a portal outside, maybe, so you could see both sides. :)
I loved the pressed flower item.
Yes! I have a thing for pressed flowers and butterfly taxidermy too! It’s so neat! 😊
I love to decorate for all holidays. The picture frame in the beginning of your video with the stars would be cute for patriotic decor. I look for all holidays whenever I go thrifting. I love your channel and it makes me want to go thrifting more!! Keep up the good work and happy thrifting!
For your shallow planter hanging succulents need very little water or room cuz they grow very slow
Sounds great! Thanks! 😊
I loved the little angel that you said you were confused by. It looked very 1970's to me. It reminds me of Christmas decorations my mother used to have, but you could be right and maybe it was modern made to look vintage. Anyway I thought is was super cute. I also like the crucifix that was right behind it. Thanks for the videos, I really enjoy them.
Great stuff. Looking forward to your haul!
Loved that little wheelbarrow ,,,yes I do Americana in my Primative kitchen
The white glass items, if you research i thimk you will find it is what useto be called milk glass and ir can be worth something, just check.
Love the Tea Pot Sign !!! Thank you for sharing 💕
Thanks for watching! Hope you are doing well! 😊
Love your thrift with me videos!💕
I suggest Succulents in the planter. TFS. Looking forward to part 2.
Succulents would be nice! Thank you! 😊
The clear bowl looked like Murano.
Fairly new subbie. In the 1970s I made the cornucopia and both the girl and boy pilgrims in ceramics class. I still have them and use them every year. The large ceramic wall piece is also one that I remember. I think that just hanging them with a string is dangerous. Perhaps in a plate holder if a large enough one could be found, would be safer. Succulents would work in the hanging planter. I really enjoy your videos and see alot of vintage things that I remember. TFS!!
Love Americana!! That box was cool.
At 10:25 That stack of plates next to the veggie wall hangings- I had those plates! Got em after I got married in 2007. They were nice plates but I got rid of those and kept my grandmas Butterfly Gold plate and bowl set. Still using them today 😊 Take up way less room lol
I loved that large ceramic farm scene plate..
I think the Garfield is suppose to be Rhett Butler from Gone With The Wind saying a kid friendly version of his famous saying.
You are right! 😊
I have the small wheelbarrow in my garden- so it looks like the flowers fell into the garden. I think it looks cute as well! :) mine is just a plain rustic-y looking wheelbarrel .
That Garfield! I was cracking up at that!! Childhood memories! :)
I have the outside of my house decorated in patriotic stuff, in the garden and around the outside. I like the Americana stuff, but it can clutter up super fast! Lol
I live the napcoware stuff I always pick them up for myself. It's so kitschy lol can't help myself! $6 A piece though.... idk....
Hey Nicole. Enjoyed your shop with me. I decorate with Red, White and Blue during the Summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day every year. I only use it in smaller areas now though since I moved back into my childhood home because it is a smaller frame home and it is just too much to decorate all through the house due to the size. Any theme type decorations kind of take over my everyday decor if I spread it throughout the house if that makes sense LOL. I loved the little wheelbarrow. It seems like your thrift stores changes out merchandise more often than mine do. I hardly ever see the same things in the videos. ~ Pamela
Really glad I came across your channel, you seem to know your items which I am interested because I do some collecting myself.
Thanks so much, Miriam! I've always loved your name. It was on our if we have a girl list. 😊
Stay out of that goodwill their prices are retail prices and they get all of this stuff for free
It’s hit or miss for sure. I find some good deals more often than not. Some prices to make me cringe a bit. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@Amandahugginkizzwhat did it for me was when they were selling a patriots sweat shirt used no less for 16 bucks they claim they use the profits to hire lots of low income or disabled people but every time I go in there I'm lucky if I see 5 employees in the whole store sad
Love the Thanksgiving pilgrims💖💖💖
😊
LOVED the framed fabric and the hanging planter .
I’ve seen some nice ones done! They make a lot of amazing fabrics! 😊
I use americana on patio !!!
I have a bigger serving plate that matches the pink and white dish marked italy on the back, just like that one. It has 3 big leaves to serve food in. I bought it at Goodwill for $3.
Awesome! So maybe the hand written Italy is a mark? I’m not familiar with Italy items. 😊
For the hanging coconut planter a succulent would be perfect. As a matter of fact I would be interested in that.
Nice video thanks for sharing
I like the heart . I'm Into the color red and pink. Use to go for forest green and burgundy.
It’s funny how we switch it up every now and then huh?! Thanks for watching! 😊
AWESOME finds tfs
Love the leaf glass and I would have picked up that cute little rabbit near it, Lordy I wish we had these kind of thrift stores in the uk
Looked like Mikasa to me.
I love your videos & your Etsy shop.
Thank you, Andrew! 😊
Yes Americana I love it baskets bowls plates anyting
If you purchased that teapot trivet, I'd LOVE to buy it from you! I've learned a lot watching your videos. Thank you from a fellow New Englander.
I did! I need to try to clean it up a little bit before I list it, though some people prefer the patina? but I will put it up this week for you!
Just send me a message on my etsy HappyVintageHaven and I’ll send you a message when I get it listed. 😊
The lighthouse plate at 10:01 made my heart jump.
Thanks for watching! 😊
I Have a question. On those vintage trivets when you find them do you clean them and polish them up before resell or do you list them the way they are? I
A long time ago you were collecting those strawlike trivets for a headboard...did you ever finish it?
Thanks again!
Thanks for watching, Erin! 😊
Some pieces from Italy are handwritten by the artist. Mottahedeh is one that comes to mind that hand writes some pieces :)
Succulents would be great for that planter
Succulents would be good in that planter.
I like the tea pot I am always yelling at u get it
Lol I’m sorry Debbie! I guess I’m not sure which one?
Hi, really enjoy your videos. Can you tell me your EBay seller’s name? I’d like to check out your items. Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks! 😊
Sorry to hear about your grandfather and mother.
My spare bedroom is decorated with red/white/blue. I'm just very patriotic (my birthday is even July 4th).
The Goodwill has raised their prices, but you can still find things that are thrifty. I have an electic home, don't like any particular style.
It would be appreciated if you would tell us the maker shown on the bottom of plates and other dishware. 😑
I usually do if I can pronounce it lol
How can you tell if glass is painted or colored? I saw some beautiful pieces but wasn't sure if they were colored glass. Thanks for your videos! Darla Hokanson
With some of the amberina sometimes you can see the paint chipping off the flashed pieces. The finish is also a bit different. Glass is more clear, even if colored. Thanks for watching! 😊
I noticed you came across different bells and didn't pick up, why?
maybe you could put succulents in the planter
That would look cute! 😊
That planter was probably used for artificial flowers. Some of those pieces did seem rather pricey.
Oh that possible too! I’m trying to think about drainage. Maybe put a small glass bowl in with rocks and just remove as needed. 🤔
👍👍👍
How often do you go to your Goodwill?
Once or twice a week. Sometimes every other week in the summer once yard sales, rummage sales and flea markets are out.
Your Goodwill is high on there priced. Love your vedios. Thanks for sharing .
Thanks for watching, Vickey! They can be high on the prices for sure! I do find some good deals there a lot though. That’s what keeps me coming back. Hoping for those things that snuck by them lol
Hell no on the Americana decoration for me.
Succulent or cacti
I’m not a big fan of the big ceramic decorative piece.. it’s just not my style.
Why don’t you sell ashtrays?
My grandfather suffered with emphysema most of my childhood, struggling to breath doing simple tasks and his the emphysema pocket in his lung burst and he passed away a few days later. He got the emphysema from smoking most of his life. Even though he didn't smoke the last 15 years of his life he still lowered the quality of his life greatly and ultimately lead to his death at age 68. We were very close and I don't support the habit. My mother also had a debilitating stroke from decades of smoking. It's a principal thing with me. Thanks for asking. 💕
VINCA
No dont like americana just not my thing
I'd like to hear your take on what "vintage" means to you. 🌼
Personally I think 30 years or older up until 100 years old then it is antique. Etsy says 20 years so I go by that now as I resell on there. So anything before 2000 is considered vintage.
Nesting Haven thanks...I guess the timeline has changed. I heard on one of the Antiques Road Trip shows that "Vintage" was at 50 years & "Antiques" was at 100 years. So, when I saw you calling way less than 50 years vintage I was confused a bit.
Love your channel. Nice job going slow enough for us to take it in with you! At times you really could be shopping here in my house! Oh my, I have a full lifetime of both vintage & antique collectibles. Plus I just love rooms filled with pieces that tell a story, that have a history, that have been "well-loved".
Thanks again for your answering my question!
Succulents
Yes! I think that would look nice! Thanks, Johnny! 😊
1983 is not vintage
Anything over 20 years old is considered vintage 👍
I feel vintage...i was born in 83" 😂
