I have my products ready to ship from China but still cannot think of a brand name to be put on the packaging. I will be selling men's wallets, what can be a great brand name?
I personally avoid names like that, they're "mid-level" names compared to Apple or Nike or Google, imho... BUT there's nothing wrong with them, they can totally work. The main thing is that you put thought and intention into them, and you're satisfied with the name you choose.
@@ryzeonline If Chic-fil-A is Mid level I would be happy with that lol. In-N-Out burger is another one that comes to mind. I just asked because my residential cleaning company has dashes sometimes I hate it sometimes I don't, but it seems to be working. I'm not totally satisfied, but re-branding would be hard especially since we have a pretty good clientele now.
My problem with this is no one starting a lawn care business is planning on it becoming an international billion dollar company. When you're just a local business the name doesn't matter all that much in my opinion as long as it's reasonable. I think for a local business the most important thing is to make it clear what it is you do.
You're right, name's aren't important for early-stage or small businesses, Nike began as "Blue Ribbon Shoes"... but this video is for people who are ready to improve their name.
I would disagree. If every lawn business had lawn in their business name no would remember them. They would just all get mix in the same pile because the names are so similar. There's nothing to it that stands out and make the customers remember them.
Fresh perspective on something I hadn't considered. I want to make a channel with It's name as, "Curiosity" since it describes its purpose well. Now, I wonder if shrinking it to something a little more original and fresh such as "Osity" might make it better. What do you think or should I keep trying? Thanks.
Awesome Jp! *Osity* sounds amazing to me! Catchy, 5-letters, memorable, meaningful... you're totally onto something there. Curiosity is ok too, not nearly as "brand-strong" imho. Oooh, I loved this one 🙂. Awesome animations, extraordinary examples and laudable lessons 👍🏼. I’d love to see this as a series 😀. I happen to be one of those people who think their name might work. J-Ryze J-Ryze That is way, WAY too much praise, but thanks nontheless 👍🏼. Hopefully it will do well, cause I’m really looking forward to seeing more of this. And thanks for the comments about my name 🙂
I have an online Shop and named it after my Twins. Matt & Marcus Shoppe but ugh.. I'm still not 100% sure about it. I plan to change it's name. thinking about one word business name only
My items are general merch. But I wanna focus on home essentials, home improvement or everything about home. I don't know if my existing shop name is still appropriate 🥺
There are always exceptions, companies like "Xerox" or "Kim Kardashian" have some pretty unique names, and still do well, the most important thing about your name is that you thought it through and are proud to stand by it. People abbreviated Tim Horton's to "Timmys", and they did it because of / in spite of the company's original name :)
Cool series! Great info. Now I'm considering a couple different names. Not sure how I would transform New Future Builder....yet but it isn't really a business just yet. Also thinking about a tech related name I came up with before too.
Hello Evan! This veideo helped me alot. But I still can't choose a brand name for my company. Mostly because there's seems to be many options wich are valid with pros and cons. But still cant choose. I feel that the name I want it's one that expresses creativity, like the one you have as a kid and imagine an entire story around just a tree for example (I'm a 3d artist) I love long names that tell or make you think an small storie. But I feel that perhaps that's a bad idea. And what's worst I don't feel I have anyone with enough knowledge of the subject to talk about this
Glad you liked the video. Long names can work, especially in the 3D field, for example "Industrial Light And Magic" was a huge success, but it got abbreviated to I.L.M. by everyone :) Trust your gut. And names can always *evolve* later anyway.
Yes great video man. Most business names suck. I am trying to find a name that will brand for serviced accomodation plus other property related business. Tough
Evan - There's some good general advice here, but some details & specific examples are HORRIBLE ADVICE. - "Silvan" is a better name than "Silv", the 2nd syllable completes the word & has a ring to it. Or a variation like Silva/Silvo. - And you're seriously going to compare Jesus & Oprah to a lawncare brand name? 🙄 Oprah didn't change her name on purpose, her mom misspelled "Orpah" on her BC, a common name from the Book of Ruth in the Bible. Do a little more research next time. - Giant faceless corporation brand names don't matter because they're not public-facing. In fact, they often prefer to be unknown to everyday people. There's no reason to even bring up their names in this video. - Coca-Cola may be an exception by today's standards, but 1 reason it works is it near-rhymes & is an alliteration (C+C). It's easy to say & has a ring to it. And it shortens to Coke which works well too. Infact, if you take the dash & capital letter away, it sounds like a modern name like Lululemon etc. "Cocacola"
*As long as your name is short and doesn't contain weird letters* it can work -, no matter how dumb it sounds. Contrary to what this video said (I agree with everything else) your name doesn't have to mean anything. As long as it's short and easy to say. It works for “Dribbble” - which literally means “a stream of liquid” (with 2 Bs). Terrible name (says anyone I mention it to) but highly successful company :-)
Glad you enjoyed the video! Many names can work, what really matters is that you're confident on it, and it resonates with your chosen audience. Hope that helps, if not, it may be worth re-watching the video, a lot was covered there :)
We can't look past the fact, this guy had this man changing his company name to Silv......wtf, lol. Quite the solution. Also, keep in mind all the big names this video seemed look up to didnt make it big because of the name, rather it was how they influenced the culture. I bet if a couple rappers put the name "vanguard" in their videos, people would be getting tattoos the next day. All the companies he seemed to mention got big because of the quality of the product. Disneys just a last name, but they have great movies and sick theme parks, Coca Cola is basic, but tastes deliciouso. McDonalds is a last name, but makes chunky kids happy, Facebook has a boring name, but it allows me to rant to strangers and store contacts. Sounds like the product is the determining factor, rather than the name being the biggest contributor.
@@EvanCarmichael No problemo. Sorry I sounded like a ranting know-it-all jerk in the comment, lol. Obviously brand names are important. I'll do better next time.
@@EvanCarmichael Silv is actually available for registry in my country (Brazil). Not sure why this name is not already a brand name in English. Is it a bad word or slang?
JVCK can work, look at companies like FCUK, IBM, YSL (Yves-Saint Laurent)... personally, I don't find it ideal or super-high leverage, but it can totally work. The main takeaway hopefully is that you put thought into your name, envision your brand in the future, and make sure it's something you're proud of, and something you'll stand by. Usually experimenting with a few alternates is worth the time, even if it just makes you love your original name more. #Believe
Womble Robert hahah you‘re really creative but I‘m afraid K - Cosmetics sounds too much like kim kardashian and JK- Cosmetics sounds too much like just kidding but thank you for the ideas I‘ll play with the k in the name more😅
Eh, you'd have to ask Nike founders and the magazine they read way back then. I'd imagine x,y,z,k,q,u, etc. -- Not sure that details the most vital part of the video though.
Well definitely it's a worth watching video...but willing to be an enterprenure in coming 5 years plan..plz suggest or upload some video...will be helpful for new comers

I have a virtual assistant business called Ebites Virtual Services Limited one of my friend has suggested a few times that I change it because he says it sounds like a good company. However, I've been in pains to change it because I had already registered it in my country under that name, have a logo and websites - www.ebitesva.com. But, after watching this I'm torn should I change it or can it stand the test time. Would love feedback from you guys.
Great question! Unfortunately there's no "right answer" here, if you stick with your name, people may end up abbreviating it on you (Tim Horton's = "Timmy Ho's"). Changing it takes "some effort" but usually pays off in a big way. It really depends on how big an empire you want to build :) #believe
J-Ryze, I don't mind if they abbreviate it once there's no confusion between my brand and any other. I want a build an empire that will go down in history like Amazon, Apple
Thank you very much for your suggestion but it would be great if you could post your request under this video: ua-cam.com/video/0arZb0xLIDM/v-deo.html If more people would vote or like your request and there are available videos/clips for it, we might do a Top 10 rules video for it. Any thoughts on State of Ferg? I don't think I could go with a single word for a company name.
@@ryzeonline thank you. I feel like it fits my brand well despite its length.
What is Ferg? Ferguson?
@@robmcghie5248 yeah I didn't want to use my name as a brand so I used my nick name.
My pleasure, #keepryzing #believe

And what's worst I don't feel I have anyone with enough knowledge of the subject to talk about this
Find someone who can help you James #Believe :) #BTA1490 Veljko
Glad you liked the video. Long names can work, especially in the 3D field, for example "Industrial Light And Magic" was a huge success, but it got abbreviated to I.L.M. by everyone :) Trust your gut. And names can always *evolve* later anyway.
Like there is any meaningful combination of 4 letters still available xD Good points overall though
Thanks for the support :) #BTA1262 Luka
SILV is still available. You can buy that domain.

@@ryzeonline Hello friend, Can you suggest me a small gym name please? I am trying to figure it out from a month but not able to finalise :(
Evan - There's some good general advice here, but some details & specific examples are HORRIBLE ADVICE.
"Cocacola"
Thank you for the suggestion - Mark
Where can i find advisor?
Use an online advisor search or ask your friend if they know one. 😊 #Believe - Feb
@@EvanCarmichael Thx!
Do i look for financial advisors?
*As long as your name is short and doesn't contain weird letters* it can work -, no matter how dumb it sounds. Contrary to what this video said (I agree with everything else) your name doesn't have to mean anything. As long as it's short and easy to say. It works for “Dribbble” - which literally means “a stream of liquid” (with 2 Bs). Terrible name (says anyone I mention it to) but highly successful company :-)
Yep, there's exceptions to everything, (which was mentioned multiple times :D) Thanks for adding some insight :)

Glad you enjoyed the video! Many names can work, what really matters is that you're confident on it, and it resonates with your chosen audience. Hope that helps, if not, it may be worth re-watching the video, a lot was covered there :)

Wooo! Thank you, #RisingEmpires #Believe :)
Glad you like it Matt :) #BTA968 Luka
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 😊 #Believe - Feb
@@EvanCarmichael No problemo. Sorry I sounded like a ranting know-it-all jerk in the comment, lol. Obviously brand names are important. I'll do better next time.
Does anyone think silv is a good name?
Hmm, I'm not sure. #Believe :) #BTA1536 Veljko
@@EvanCarmichael Silv is actually available for registry in my country (Brazil). Not sure why this name is not already a brand name in English. Is it a bad word or slang?
hey guys I‘m starting a hair cosmetics brand and wanted to know your opinion on the name: JVCK - Cosmetics.
I probably need to change it 😬
JVCK can work, look at companies like FCUK, IBM, YSL (Yves-Saint Laurent)... personally, I don't find it ideal or super-high leverage, but it can totally work. The main takeaway hopefully is that you put thought into your name, envision your brand in the future, and make sure it's something you're proud of, and something you'll stand by. Usually experimenting with a few alternates is worth the time, even if it just makes you love your original name more. #Believe
J-Ryze thanks for your answer I‘ll be playing with some alternatives 😄
J K cosmetics more memorable easier to say
What about k cosmetics the alliteration on k is good
Womble Robert hahah you‘re really creative but I‘m afraid K - Cosmetics sounds too much like kim kardashian and JK- Cosmetics sounds too much like just kidding but thank you for the ideas I‘ll play with the k in the name more😅
So what are the "Exotic" Letters??
Eh, you'd have to ask Nike founders and the magazine they read way back then. I'd imagine x,y,z,k,q,u, etc. -- Not sure that details the most vital part of the video though.
@@ryzeonline I think you may be right. Including the letter N and T.
my question too -- still looking for an answer - great video though!

It really depends on how big an empire you want to build :) #believe
how about just ‚ebites‘? But maybe it sounds too much like e-bay.🤷🏾♀️
