same. this video feels like itd scale out across a day atleast, but from just how much time and effort itd take to mobilize such an extensive response, as well as the portal storms & xen aliens already stretching supply lines and forces thin. id say that the seven hour war looked more like 3 hours of solid resistance, til eventually ammo, manpower, and supplies were depleted. and the other 4 was just a slaughter while breen figures out a way to negotiate the surrender
@@gae_wead_dad_6914 Defeating russia would be largely a symbolic move. If you get off the english internet then half the world still very much believe (keyword: believe) russia is as or even more powerful than the ussr. And they do have many defense agreement as well as being the 2nd biggest arm exporters at the time the game released. It's a good political move for the combine.
the thing is, most people think that it's the combine soldiers (combine soldiers are human synths) who invaded earth. but it was actually the synths, like the gunship, dropship, hunter, or strider. its not like the combine invaded earth before, they just recently discovered earth during the portal storms. and the combine overwatch was issued after the occupation of earth the combine probably also had some powerful synths in the overworld that we never got to fight in hl2
You can actually see a lot of the reserve synths in the Citadel at the end of Half-Life 2 Honestly the best representation of this i can find is the game Terra Invicta, but more realistic. If you want to see if you stand a chance against an Alien invasion IRL - do it there
There are other humanoid creatures in the multiverse though: see vortigaunts (don't know how to spell) and whatever g-man is and probably many we haven't seen.
IRL it would be like: - NATO holds meeting after meeting, gets totally wrecked without even starting a fight - UN makes an attempt at coordinated resistance, resolution is vetoed by some random country because of anti alien violence activists
Would be a mess, that is for sure. And the alien invaders been really quick and with weapon far more technological advanced than ours. The writing was in the wall already.
it would make sense if it were a zombie apocalypse but it wouldn't be like that imagine an alien invasion (in fact two including xens and the destructive meteorological events that occurred after the black mesa incident) In a situation like this, most countries would give a big "fuck y0u" if any country member of the security council vetoed resolutions (which I highly doubt since the country that vetoed it is suffering the same consequences as the black mesa incident, just like the rest of the world then it would be stupid to veto something) the same thing would be with NATO the leaders of the member countries would hold a meeting but they would also activate article 5 because aliens are a danger not only for the alliance but for the whole world and humanity and if they held mass meetings it would be to find strategies against aliens and anti-vi0lence activists against aliens would be a minority even if the events took place in 2024 and the activists would be ignored by the majority of the population and by governments and they would be arrested or k!lled by both governments and the population, so even if it were in real life it would be the same as what I described here
Likely, but I also think that armies have hypothetical contingency plans available for scenarios like this. Maybe not exactly like this, but I like to believe that hiding capabilities is the key to surviving as a modern military force nowadays (when viewable capabilities can be so easily shared and compared thru the internet)
The map of NATO countries shown in the video shows countries that weren't part of the alliance by the time of the events in Half-Life. UPD: gee what's up with the meaningless arguing, we could very well theorize that NATO doesn't exist at all in the Half-Life universe but I'll leave that to the many lore youtubers. Also, happy 20th anniversary, Half-Life 3 is coming.
@Josephin0 the ones that gordon kills are just humans working for the combines, it's not their real army from the seven hour wars and the only reason that gordon is able to fight the combines is because of his allies like g-man and the famous, armor script because if you don't have Gordon you don't have half life
I don't really understand why the combine has a frontline, in my mind the seven hour war would have been the greatest paradrop in the history of the planet. it was 7 hours because combine troops and armor were teleported or airdropped on mass directly onto into relevant military and civilian infrastructure and within 7 hours most targeted positions were taken and humanity surrendered. if they did have a frontline like in this video they'd need to move from Gibraltar to Moscow in less than 7 hours. Technology can be as advanced as you want but even an flight from those 2 positions takes 13 hours ignoring all the taking of land needed, I couldn't imagine that working surely they'd just appear everywhere all at once instead of marching over an area. from France to Moscow even is 2,800km div 7 hours gives you an average speed for combine forces moving between those 2 points of 400kph
Yeah, none of this makes sense. The UN does not work like this, and the UN didn't enjoy blind faith when HL2 was written. The kill radius of a nuclear weapon is not going to act different to the kill radius of a conventional bomb with equivalent blast power either. Not to mention that there's no reason for them to move from left to right on our Mercator projection.
the thing that sucks about this is that the seven hour war happened somewhere around 2000-2010 but the NATO map shows Sweden and Finland which joined NATO in 2023 and 2024
@amongusus47825 neinfeld's videos have a much better fanfic than this, he covered the black mesa incident and its consequences for the world well (and in his videos the combines attacked on several fronts unlike this video)

This is overstating the response, coordination, and intent of the human response by orders of magnitude. 7 hours. This war was fought by whatever forces could form up immediately and with whatever supplies they had at hand. There was no deployment to anywhere. You can't get ground unit moved any significant distance in this time frame, even without considering the initial delays that would have been caused by surprise and uncertainty. This was a come-as-you-are war in the purest sense.
See this comment a lot on this video and tbh I completely disagree. They would of all been on a live call the whole 7 hours. They would be on full alert the entire time constantly communicating the entire 7 hours not wasting a minute out of desperation.
if it were realistic, neither of them, gordon would have died in the first minutes of the black mesa incident because he was close to the machine that caused the incident and if the scientists were up there in the room there with the armored glass, they easily died, imagine gordon who was close to the machine and the portal created, now talking about gordon against the combines he doesn't have the slightest chance if he and his allies (mainly g-man) were having difficulties facing the combines such as civil "protection" and the overwatch who are basically humans working for them) imagine if they were earth invasion combine troops 💀☠️ and as one of Freeman's colleagues said "it's going to be the seven hour war again but this time we won't last 7 minutes" Freeman alone doesn't tank the combines (cp and overwatch) imagine the troops that invaded the earth, let's talk the facts If half life were realistic, Freeman would not have survived the beginning of the incident and if he did, he would not have lasted more than a few minutes against the aliens and the military
@@federalinvestigationbureau5814 true but you have also have to note that if it was realistic there would be more armed personel in black mesa with better guns then a simple handgun and a lot better training to be somewhat like HECU
@@federalinvestigationbureau5814 I wouldn't call G-Man an ally, Gordon is just useful to him for some reasons. It is possible that his employers are actually just other species that want to destroy the Combine which is while also being beneficiary for humanity may or may not be a priority of them (helping humanity I mean). Or they could just work with combine and they use the human resistance as a way to get a better deal out of combine or something.
Doing the math, I found something astonishing. The total land surface area on earth is 57.51 million miles squared, or 148.95 million km squared. If the war truly lasted seven hours, then the Combine would have had to have conquered 8,215,714 square miles every hour, 136,928 square miles every minute, and 2282 square miles every second. (In kilometers, 21,278,601, 354,641, and 5910 respectively.) For reference, the Combine would be conquering almost a Montana a minute (About the same as a Germany) and a Connecticut every 2 seconds (a Kosovo every 4 seconds) You'd think with all that power the Combine would be able to crush a single person, but no. The crowbar never dies.
To be fair, the combine we see in half life 2 is NOT the combine 20 years ago, as in. What you are seeing just in HL2 is a small garrison mostly of conscripted humans, and not any home world soldiers. Another comment I saw also brought up the point that there were no actual fronts in the 7 hour war, because it wasn’t a conventional war. My best idea of an example would be the Russian invasion of Crimea, the difference here is that it’s bigger, there’s portals that just allow the enemy to appear almost anywhere on earth, and humans barely have an army to fight with.
The Combine litteraly RULES over multiple DIMENSIONS and UNIVERSES ! They have close to infinite ressources and can appear from nowhere via portal storms. Earth and Humanity is nothing. The dimensional rift that appears after the Resonance Cascade and how it ripped after Nihilanth's death is cosmic size. Planet Earth is just a tiny, tiny rock.
I dont get why as an ultra advanced multidimensional/multigalaxy teleporting super empire you must use conventional warfare to begin with against humans. Just make ultra super advanced mass bioweapon that targets and kills all humans globally in like 5 minutes. Unless they really needed humans for something important and spesific.
I understand the UN because it has Egypt, Joy, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Russia, China, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India, South and North Korea, Kazakhstan, Japan, Taiwan among others, and NATO? (yes I know that NATO is the most powerful military alliance in history, in fact if NATO enters the war in Ukraine the war ends and Russia falls or the third world war with nuclear holocaust happens) but if you consider that the USA fell the same in the video (the USA supports the alliance in both troops and money) and considering that several countries were not yet in NATO at the time of the Seven Hours War, such as Poland, Sweden and Finland, makes the alliance vulnerable to the combines (considering that the USA fell) and the remaining members of the alliance would fall later
@@anomalocaris7436 desperation doesn't mean you can bend reality and have reactions this fast. it genuinely would be impossible for them to mobilise the way they do in this video.
I think something to note is that as we've learned from the newspapers in HL:A the Seven Hour War wasn't really a vast conflict. By the time the Combine had showed up Earth had already been devastated by portal storms, Xen lifeforms invading, and warring between humans and vortigaunts. When the Combine showed up in earnest there really wasn't much to takeover. It was a wasteland with some major cities already abandoned. The "war" was really just the remnants of the human forces engaging the Combine for a few hours before Dr. Breen and the UN ordered a ceasefire for negotiations.
very likely, combine is misspronounced and the pacing feels robotic, as well as the voice staying put in one tone throughout (unless it's a really good impression with a misstep on indications and some other misc shit)
@@blem4103 Another indication of AI voice is usually when it ends sentences in a tone that interrupts abruptly, like it forgot the sentence was supposed to end there. Happens multiple times in this case.
I'm going to be honest; this is great. Still left with a few questions, though. Also, I find it hilarious that the combine decided to occupy France but not Britain.
They also invaded the UK and the map of UK is blank it must be because most if not all of the British population was eradicated and because the former UK became a quarantine zone the situation is the same in Japan
I think in reality neither NATO or UN would have ANY meeting before the 7HW ends. It’s 7 hours, even just flights of politicians to the places of meetings will be longer than that
There are a few things here that bother me. Firstly, Half Life takes place sometime between 1999 and 2003 and the map and everything seems to be based on 2010 or later, which doesn't make sense when you consider the official lore. Yugoslavia, which was only dissolved in 2006, is not listed and the NATO map is also wrong because Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia did not join NATO until 2004. As far as the Seven Hour War is concerned, there were no clearly defined fronts because the Combine came through all the portal storms at the same time, overwhelming the human forces. This isn't meant to be hate, by the way, your video is an interesting interpretation of the Half Life universe, keep it up. If anyone sees this comment and agrees with me, that's great and if someone doesn't agree with me, that's great too, I just thought it had to be said.
The map is set from sometime in between April 1, 2009 and July 9, 2011. It can be no earlier than 2009, since that is the year Albania and Croatia joined NATO. It can also be no later than July 9, 2011 because South Sudan is not an independent country marked on the map. I don't know why I took the time to figure that out, but I did.
Sounds like an ai voice of Kleiner applied on top of an existing voice model, probably elevenlabs or something similar. It’s why it’s a clear voice that sounds pretty similar, but slips into slightly different accents off and on, as the model underneath the Kleiner voice doesn’t stay consistent with each generation. Pretty decent all things considered
Realistically though, they wouldn't keep just "One Zone" up. At least some settlements in the Americas, Africa, and definitely in Japan and further in Asia would have had some form of colony or urban centre capable of holding the suddenly halted population of earth. The Combine would also spread and relocate these citizens around in these cities in order to prevent dissidence. Have a plan? Too late, you're already being relocated. Got Friends? Make new ones.
". The Combine would also spread and relocate these citizens around in these cities in order to prevent dissidence. Have a plan? Too late, you're already being relocated. Got Friends? Make new ones." they do this in the game, they keep moving people through different cities to keep them in check, thats why breen's first speech starts with "you've chosen or been chosen to relocate to one of our finest remaining urban centers"
They do relocate the citizens often. There are also other Cities, not just City 17. We also have a map in one of the games that shows the entirety of North America as crossed off, seemingly meaning it is uninhabitable or inaccesable.
What I am implying is in regards to the proposed map in the video. Whilst there's the possibility that the majority of areas are inhabitable, I still wouldn't be capable of believing that multiple continents, of massive sizes, cannot have at least house a form of urban centre with a small military presence of the Combine. Whilst it is implied that America is uninhabitable through the map, it would not be 100% uninhabitable. A reminder that the US and North America are extremely massive, so there'd still be at least one or two cities still up in the U.S alone, one in Canada, and one in Mexico. + You wouldn't be able to hold populations of what can be estimated between 100 - 450 Million or something less than a billion, in a handful of cities (This is the registered population, remember that others would've survived, but stayed away from the Combine and the Universal Union)
I don't think alot of thought was put in this video as this video and the prior video was made with AI (the script & voice) The visuals are good and all but like, the writing is so lazy.
@@viper5801 Mf probably went to chat gpt and wrote "What happened during half life 2's seven hour war" This video is legit an answer chat gpt would give
The Seven Hours War was a multinational assault on several different fronts on all continents, it didn't just start in the USA (even though the portal storms are located more in North America) the combines carried out an assault on multiple different fronts, mainly against the greatest military powers of the time that were already weak due to the fighting against the xen aliens and maintain order in their respective countries against riots and insurrections against governments due to the lack of resources such as food, water, fuel and electricity and the attack by the combines the headquarters of the united nations was probably to eliminate leaders of several countries and when the war started the combines attacked military bases, ports and airports and command and communication centers and global communication between countries was difficult and the un did not use nuclear weapons because it would be stupid because there were allied troops and civilians together, if they used nuclear weapons it would worsen the environmental situation and would kill more people and it would also make the combines more aggressive and brutal, decreasing the chance of negotiating peace with them and probably the majority of the population world, if not all humanity would be extinct and voluntary militias already existed even before the seven hour war and the black mesa incident occurred on December 5, 2000 and the seven hour war on January 2, 2001 and the world would not have 7 billion and a few million people but 6 billion and a few million so the video casualty rate doesn't make any sense
"they used nuclear weapons it would worsen the environmental situation and would kill more people and it would also make the Combine more aggressive and brutal, decreasing the chance of negotiating peace with them and probably the majority of the population world" But didn't the Combine saw a potential in humanity and that humans have the technology the Combine needed local teleportation, which is the reason why they allowed people to work at Black Mesa East so they could get it.
Given the chaos and confusion going on there's zero chance the UN has all these meetings and musters millions of troops with mere hours left for a final stand in East Asia like that. This does seem more like a 7 day or 7 week war rather than the total stomp the canonical 7 hour war should be.
EDF comms during those 7 hours must have been a mess. Squad leaders musth have been yelling stuff like "3 legged squd...crab looking thing 300 meters North FIRE"
Great video! My only problem is that the war described would have taken a couple of days minimum. Lore wide, the Seven Hour War took... 7 seven hours, there was no grand alliance, no grand battles, the Combine teleported everywhere at the same time with overwhelming force (imagine 3:1 ratio with technology that humans can only dream of). And humanity surrendered before it could try to make a last stand, with Dr. Breen only having authority to surrender because he was the first to figure out how to contact the Combine. The existential dread of Half-life 2 comes to the conclusion that the Resistance can only close off Teleportations to Earth, never defeat the Combine conventionally.
4:13 🤓👆: In Half Life 2 it is mentioned that the main weakness of the combine is their lack of mobility options, the can travel trough dimensions, but once on the location, they need conventional methods to travel, hence this statement is note lore accurate
Would have been helpful if the HECU wasn't KILLING SCIENTISTS that were actually the best suited to solve the portal storms and come up with effective countermeasures and possibly close portals.
7:38 at this point the combine probably realized that the UN had a significant amount of manpower left and started bringing out stuff like dark matter weaponry
IMO, portal storms haven't been caused by combine invasion, but instead they caused the invasion. So there would be a slight delay before combine would came to Earth, and I think in that time many thing could happen, same as US and NATO destruction, as Zen fauna kinda can destroy tanks and even aircraft. So I think what happened is that portal storms are indeed forced people to relocate to safe cities, and Earth forces were defending places, never to counterattack until they could create a plan. And combine just invaded, they actually don't need to start ground assault - they propably destroyed those cities, left some where they think UN headquarters are located and made contact forcing to surrender. And only getting an answer they would start ground assault to free their new territory from Zen flora and fauna, which isn't an easy task if it taken them more than 15 years to do so (HL Alyx)
Werent the combine able to launch an invasion because of xen too, without xen being under combine control, they wouldnt start the war in the first place, i get this impression because of gmans dialogue at the end of the first half life "the borderworld, Xen, is now under our control, for the time being thanks to you"
@@Arelated well. It might be actually. I believe that secret of human teleportation lies in the fact that somehow they figured out the way to use Xen as a hook to return to home dimension but in different location. And combine wants that knowledge, as stated - they need to know the secret of local teleportation, because it might be that humanity managed to make more efficient and safe alternative to their teleports. So in the end, it might be that combine teleportation works on teleporting to Xen, and then from there to other places. But there's a problem with Gman stating that Xen under "our control", because he propably doesn't refer to Combine, as they're kind of enemies with each other in Alyx. If Gman was an ally for them, he wouldn't be captured? For HL series it would be fitting that some 3rd party doing stuff. There's also wouldn't be a need for local teleportation that much, if combine is the biggest threat there is
Honestly the most terrifying thing of all of those is how extremely earth's ecosystem changed. It just broke into a creepy mess. This is the only universe where Earth still exists, but it's been transformed so much it's just no longer Earth really.
Something that has been bothering me is the formation of those Portals. We went from Black Mesa Incident resolving itself to, poof, portals across the world. It feels like they are two separated and independant events with no progression toward each others. You are led to believe that portals came out as soon as the Black Mesa mess ended. Out of nowhere. That is bothering me.
There were no portal storms across the globe before the Nihilanth's death. Before the rocket launch in Black Mesa, the connection between Earth and Xen was two-way, and mostly random. After the launch, it became a limited invasion in the area of New Mexico, since the connection became one-way, with the Xen side being kept open by the Nihilanth, then he realized that humans were about to find out how to close the connection, thus Nihilanth started the more violent part of the invasion. BM scientists thought that killing the powerful being that kept open the connection from Xen (Nihilanth) would have resolved the incident once and for all, but they were wrong, since Nihilanth's death caused a chain reaction that made the connection between Earth and Xen unstable, thus causing the portal storms. Hope it clears things up.
@@shapeswitch_mood7221 It seems the G-man alien entity was trying to save Nihilanth from being captured and his precise teleportation tech exploited by the Combine, allowing him and his organization to move from Xen to Earth, but this plan backfired and Nih got killed by Gordon, thus opening a rift between Earth and Xen. This event in turn led the Combine to find its way into Xen, since it's from where our boy Nih was fighting against them for god knows how long, but since he was dead and his slave/synth subjects were fleeing to Earth, the Combine followed trough... and found us. Unforseen consequences, indeed. It seems like it was all about G-man's side not allowing the Combine to obtain precise local teleportation tech, whatever it takes, Earth is just a pawn to Them.
Good take. But I would change a thing - most likely, Combines hit all regions of the planet simultaneously. That would perfectly explain the 7 hour mark - with such attacks, there would be no united fronts, just separate pockets of resistance that would inevitably fall shortly after the first shots. Besides, the way you shown East Asia being hit the last after Earth forces was largely depleted and fighting likely lessened, would suggest East Asia as location for Cities. Instead, HL2 take place in Eastern Europe, which was supposedly hit among the first, when Earth still had much of their forces to strike back. Logically, that area would be more devastated than East Asia. But of course, it would leave no place for valiant last stand to make video about. So, all in all, great video/
I want to like this, but the writing is really strange. The tenses are almost always wrong - suddenly switching between near past and present - and there was no explanation for how the storms related to the Combine.
I would say it's a great video, i really like HL lore vids with maps. However, something about that scrpit feels off, the way things are phrased and all that - it sounds like the whole thing is written by AI. That and the voice is weird too, like that's AI generated too. Maybe im just being "paranoid" with the amount of AI content recently, so i hope im wrong about this - if thats the case, keep up the good work.
I imagine considering the Combine would have captured multiple civilizations/planets/species worth of soldiers, its not surprising they'd have outnumbered and outgunned humans in such short order, especially when the portals could fast-track them to any location already suffering the effects of Xen species invasions and portal storm damage
Horrible video, rewrote what happened making up a whole new extremely unrealistic scenario, used AI trash, completely ignored anything that happened between cascade and combine showing up. Overall a horrible video and it damages the lore of the events.
how the fuck does a random fan fiction damage the lore of the events?!?!?!? also, we dont know what happened during the seven hour war, your pulling this information out of your ass
Keep in mind the troops the combine were using were synth soldiers like the super soldiers and other various elite-level enemies, those troops are nothing but heavily armed war machines, humans stood absolutely no chance against this empire that literally invades galaxies.

that's a small detail but since the resonance cascade takes place in the early 2000's, the countries you listed as part of NATO are those part of the alliance in 2024, but the alliance wasn't this expansive by the early 2000's (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Slovakia, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden shouldn't be part of NATO, while Luxemburg should as it was one of the founding members). @@gae_wead_dad_6914yeah you're half right Russia was still recovering but even so they have considerable military power and there was China, India, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Saddam's Iraq, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Egypt , joy, Morocco, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Indonesia as military powers, even if considerable, and NATO is still supported by the USA, so the USA falls equally in the video other countries in the alliance would not have enough human and material resources to slow down the advance of the combines and the seven hour war took place on January 2, 2001 not 2004
same. this video feels like itd scale out across a day atleast, but from just how much time and effort itd take to mobilize such an extensive response, as well as the portal storms & xen aliens already stretching supply lines and forces thin. id say that the seven hour war looked more like 3 hours of solid resistance, til eventually ammo, manpower, and supplies were depleted. and the other 4 was just a slaughter while breen figures out a way to negotiate the surrender
It's a good political move for the combine.
the thing is, most people think that it's the combine soldiers (combine soldiers are human synths) who invaded earth. but it was actually the synths, like the gunship, dropship, hunter, or strider. its not like the combine invaded earth before, they just recently discovered earth during the portal storms. and the combine overwatch was issued after the occupation of earth
the combine probably also had some powerful synths in the overworld that we never got to fight in hl2
Overwatch is canon in the Team half portal cinematic universe
You can actually see a lot of the reserve synths in the Citadel at the end of Half-Life 2
Honestly the best representation of this i can find is the game Terra Invicta, but more realistic. If you want to see if you stand a chance against an Alien invasion IRL - do it there
@@gae_wead_dad_6914Terra Invicta is goated
There are other humanoid creatures in the multiverse though: see vortigaunts (don't know how to spell) and whatever g-man is and probably many we haven't seen.
it is the advisors actually
IRL it would be like:
- NATO holds meeting after meeting, gets totally wrecked without even starting a fight
- UN makes an attempt at coordinated resistance, resolution is vetoed by some random country because of anti alien violence activists
Nah, there is no way. Activists wouldn't be able to appear in under 7 hours, especially considering that social medias didn't exist yet.
Half life if it took place in 2024
Would be a mess, that is for sure.
I'm gonna put this on a cd and send it to a far away relative with the note "I'm giving you a chance to prepare. You have limited time left."

Agreed, this video makes it feel like the it was more like the 7 Week War or something.
Probably paradropped since the combine struggles with inter-planet teleportation
@@MirrorMareThats is a more realistic time frame. The combines army isn’t fast enough to take over earth in 7 hours.
I guess that they carried out diversion attacks at all strategic locations while keeping some sort of a frontline to consolidate control
the thing that sucks about this is that the seven hour war happened somewhere around 2000-2010 but the NATO map shows Sweden and Finland which joined NATO in 2023 and 2024

Who will win?
The entirety of military arsenal on Earth.
Or
One crowbar man
if it were realistic, neither of them, gordon would have died in the first minutes of the black mesa incident because he was close to the machine that caused the incident and if the scientists were up there in the room there with the armored glass, they easily died, imagine gordon who was close to the machine and the portal created, now talking about gordon against the combines he doesn't have the slightest chance if he and his allies (mainly g-man) were having difficulties facing the combines such as civil "protection" and the overwatch who are basically humans working for them) imagine if they were earth invasion combine troops 💀☠️ and as one of Freeman's colleagues said "it's going to be the seven hour war again but this time we won't last 7 minutes" Freeman alone doesn't tank the combines (cp and overwatch) imagine the troops that invaded the earth, let's talk the facts If half life were realistic, Freeman would not have survived the beginning of the incident and if he did, he would not have lasted more than a few minutes against the aliens and the military

(In kilometers, 21,278,601, 354,641, and 5910 respectively.)
For reference, the Combine would be conquering almost a Montana a minute (About the same as a Germany) and a Connecticut every 2 seconds (a Kosovo every 4 seconds)
You'd think with all that power the Combine would be able to crush a single person, but no.
The crowbar never dies.
It's possible that Seven Hour War is not literal but indicates how was lost from the first hours.
G Man Is literally a multiversal god
7 hours? how did the UN and NATO do so much in this time? doesn't make any sense.

Needless to say. Hyped.
It seems misleading to call it a war, it was more like a hijacking.
It was a glorious day when Our Benefactors swept away the corrupt old ways of our world

Unless valve provides A look at what happen in the 7 hour war this is the closet we can imagine now it went.
The map is set from sometime in between April 1, 2009 and July 9, 2011. It can be no earlier than 2009, since that is the year Albania and Croatia joined NATO. It can also be no later than July 9, 2011 because South Sudan is not an independent country marked on the map.

". The Combine would also spread and relocate these citizens around in these cities in order to prevent dissidence. Have a plan? Too late, you're already being relocated. Got Friends? Make new ones."
they do this in the game, they keep moving people through different cities to keep them in check, thats why breen's first speech starts with "you've chosen or been chosen to relocate to one of our finest remaining urban centers"

"they used nuclear weapons it would worsen the environmental situation and would kill more people and it would also make the Combine more aggressive and brutal, decreasing the chance of negotiating peace with them and probably the majority of the population world"
But didn't the Combine saw a potential in humanity and that humans have the technology the Combine needed local teleportation, which is the reason why they allowed people to work at Black Mesa East so they could get it.

Take a shot every time you hear "portal storms".

@@NbahWasTaken Thank you. I wish such information was stated somewhere. Maybe I didn't look that deep. Ahwell.
The crew on the ISS seeing earth being invaded-OH COME ON
This is gpt4o... Also the editing could be made by AI too, but unsure
We got Dr. Kleiner teaching us about the 7 hour war before gta 6😭
I love this!! Really good video!
Video by AI, script by AI, damn it's shite.
oh my gosh, i thought this was about the 6 day war and i got SO confused when he started talking about aliens
North korean citizens would live better lives under the combine
You joking right? The Combine rules is even worse
All that just for some nerd with a crowbar to overthrow them in under a week
Wait, you sound like Dr.Kleiner.
Omg!
i think its an ai voice
@@wumbr6467and it sounds kind of bad too I preferred the one used in the last video
@@AdminHouse same here
WE'RE DOOMED!
Ok, the Lemmino soundtrack is actually perfect for this video
I want to like this, but the writing is really strange. The tenses are almost always wrong - suddenly switching between near past and present - and there was no explanation for how the storms related to the Combine.
Same, sometimes it keeps repeating sentences too, like at 8:03
Cuz they probably went "Chatgpt, write me a script for my half life 7 hour video."
@@Man_Aslume I wonder whether GPT4-o (unless it was 3.5 at the time this was published) would support such a large token size.
nice but I doubt the combine had a frontline they probably appeared all over the place
bro sounds like kliner💀💀💀💀💀
(It's AI)
A world where the UN actually does something for once.
No, it's for sure AI.
Overall a horrible video and it damages the lore of the events.
how the fuck does a random fan fiction damage the lore of the events?!?!?!? also, we dont know what happened during the seven hour war, your pulling this information out of your ass
it's crazy that some guy in power armor can take down a entire army
I hate that AI voice so much, but the animation was good
Kleiner is hosting UA-cam from White Forest after the Carbine destroyed the original servers
Keep in mind the troops the combine were using were synth soldiers like the super soldiers and other various elite-level enemies, those troops are nothing but heavily armed war machines, humans stood absolutely no chance against this empire that literally invades galaxies.
In reality, the Combine conquers universes.
not a bad video but AI Kleiner ruins it
Hell, I'll voice act for you, just please don't use that inhuman crap, this video went from a solid 8.5/10 to a 3/10 from how much the AI mispronounces words
i think the kleiner voice is actually a good addition to the video, it makes sense that kleiner would know all of this and document this stuff
@@coconutcarl28 I get that but the fact that the voice is AI generated ruins it for me, you can hear it make mistakes that no human would
also the whole thing of using AI to to imitate someone is kinda scummy
Eh it didn't really bother me
Scummy? Sounds like you haven't heard the song Fistful of Meth. AI generated content can be gold sometimes.
UN should have give crowbars to troops. Ez 7 hour Combine Empire annexation by human forces.
please stop using AI voice, they are great videos otherwise
that's a small detail but since the resonance cascade takes place in the early 2000's, the countries you listed as part of NATO are those part of the alliance in 2024, but the alliance wasn't this expansive by the early 2000's (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Slovakia, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden shouldn't be part of NATO, while Luxemburg should as it was one of the founding members). Otherwise, I really like the idea of a NATO response prior to the 7 Hours War and the Alliance's eventual crushing collapse, pushing the UN to declare war too. The idea of a global quarantine zone is really interesting too
Amazing video! Keep it up man so exited to see what's next! Maybe a video on the city 17 uprising?
bro even has content similar to LEMMiNO🔥
I can imagine Adrian Shepherd coming back for the 7 hour war after black mesa
