  • Jase and Phil go behind the scenes of hair, makeup, and wardrobe on "Duck Dynasty." Let's just say the skinny jeans didn't fly. Phil explains why dressing down is biblical. Jase and Al share some more pandemic film suggestions, including a Christian movie that's not cheesy! And the guys finally get to John 3 and discuss Phil's two baptisms, baptism as burial, the swoon hypothesis about Jesus, "baptism" without Jesus, and the thief on the cross.

Thank you so much for the knowledge and wisdom that is rooted in the Word in this video. When I was very young my grandmother had both myself and my sister Baptized. I had no idea why I was doing it other than it was something I needed, or rather had to do to be able to be a part of the Church and to make my grandmother happy. I found Christ in my 40's and have been wondering ever since if I should be Baptized again. Something has just been nagging at my mind and heart that makes me believe I should be. I have went to several churches and talked with their various preachers/ministers from different denominations and they all gave me the same answer that being baptized at that young age was it and it couldn't be done again. None, I repeat none would Baptize me again even though I explained that something was telling me I needed to be. I am now 55 and thanks to this episode I will be searching for someone who is of God to baptize me. So thank you again, all of you for giving me the Faith and now the strength/determination to do something I knew in my heart should have been done long ago.
    God Bless...

Gun stores in Georgia still open. Binge watching these podcasts for the last week, especially listening to Phil, I purchased my first gun a few days ago. I'm a 50 year old lady and never felt the absolute need for a gun, until now. I'm thankful to God for Phil's words on that particular podcast, because as a Christian I knew Jesus would protect me but as Phil said, not everybody else has that intention.

Hi! We stopped watching television about 12 years ago. It was purely a financial decision. My grandson and I decided we'd go to our local library and check out DVDs for the week and we got along just fine. The beauty of this for me was the absence of the bombarding commercialism. The blessing however was how it rearranged our recreational and educational priorities as a family, plus it zeroed in our time management. God is so good! We still don't watch television, but we have other tech devices now. We are thankful to have found you all. I think possibly the only possible hiccup in this was missing out on Duck Dynasty. I'm now a binge watcher of all things Robertson, WFR, Focus on the Family (thank you Jase & Missy - awesome!) Fox News and Eric Metaxas which is where I met/saw Phil, went straight to my Kindle and got his book "The Theft of America's Soul" and now all of them. To God be the glory always, and thank you all for keeping and sharing the faith.

Speaking about movie theaters, we have a great one in Southwest Michigan. It's like $6 for a ticket (cheaper in the morning/early afternoon), and a large popcorn is under $4, a large soda or frozen soda is also under $4. All their other food and candy and such is also very decently priced.

Jase gives one of the most popular sayings regarding those who deny baptism is essential " This is a tough subject"
The truth is there are many "tough" subjects when trying to fit them into a man-made religion. Baptism is part of salvation and the Bible says so, not tough, not difficult....simple.

Baptism of a kid can be the right thing. I was saved, no doubt I'm my mind, when I was 5 or 6. I may not remember how old I was, but I will never forget it forever. I was sitting in the upstairs gaming room of my aunt's and my older cousin was explaining to me about Jesus. I was crying, I remember she stopped and looked at me and said would you like to know Him and be saved. I started shaking my head yes and crying all the more. And Jesus came into my heart. I have struggled in my life but I never doubted he saved me that day at that young of an age. I'm 47 now. O and back to baptism, I was baptised the next time they had a baptism at the creek behind the house I grew up in.

I'm DEFINITELY A BELIEVER IN CHRIST & try to be a better version of myself each day when I wake up! And I'm NOT afraid of dying! Do I NEED TO BAPTIZED AGAIN?? One of the only issues I have with my church is their constant baptism of children. Sometimes it’s like they set themselves a quota. I just cannot agree with baptizing a 9 year old. I was baptized at 14 and still think I was probably too young. My wife was baptized at 9, and she is more comfortable with the idea, but I feel like a lot of kids see it as either a “rite of passage” or a box to check because they don’t understand the deeper meaning

My thoughts on what you where I think it's all about respect you don't have to wear a suit and tie If all you have is jeans and boots. But if you do have something nice to wear I don't see why it would be a bad thing. If you saw someone with baggy jeans And their underwear showing I'm not saying you would judge that person. Because maybe that is all they have but maybe not and they just dont care to show respect. Just like you dress up to go to a wedding or a funeral it's to show respect. So I believe that you should wear your "Sunday best" When they used to sacrifice animals They would pick the best animals to sacrifice. Always the best For GOD.

I never thought about this before but why I don't I feel confused over baptism? I know that I don't know one tiny particular of the Bible the way you know it, but I think that baptism is so important to salvation as it is to follow Jesus to Trust and Obey. There's no other way, I believe that we must die to our old self and rise to walk in the new life filled with The Holy Spirit. You can't do this being sprinkled or anything else but my water to represent the death burial and Resurrection of Jesus.
But I met a couple of new friends who I became good friends with and I almost gave into their wrong teaching of baptism. I'm so thankful that I'm not their friend now. I had to move away and some how we lost touch with each other. I still love them and I'm not going to say that they aren't still great Christian ladies and good friends.
But I know what I believe and I'm very thankful that I was raised in a Bible believing church.

@@lanceallred3296 the Duck Dynasty family has elevated my stand as a Christian but they sure wouldn't feel very good if they sat down and watched the UA-cam videos for Black Rifle (and associated channels) with their family...like me, I was shocked.😚 I too love Guns, Coffee, our Military...but it all has to be honoring to God or it's going the wrong way.

Please don't be mad at me for this statement/question. I'm so happy we're talkin about this bcuz the ONLY thing that keeps me questioning my 100% faith is that Jesus on the cross is confused as to why God the Father doesn't stop his crucifixion ("Father, why has thou forsaken me") . Y'all have spoken a few times about Jesus being able to control & manipulate molecules.. Yet, on the Cross, Jesus didn't know the plan apparently as he's confused as to why God isn't doing the plan HE thought was gonna happen.

I Love Jesus, I try my best to live my Life as Jesus did.... I'm a God fearing man.. I raise my children to do the same. But, I'm human and programmed for error.lol. But, THIS one thing is what makes me question my faith & it would be wonderful if Y'all could help me understand this.. And, I PRAY Y'all answer this unlike the way EVERY LAST religious person has answered it... By saying , "Just have faith" .. That's not an answer.

Great question! It can be hard to understand, but in some sense Jesus had to be cut off (at least experientially) from the favor and fellowship with the father that had been his eternally because he was bearing the sins of his people therefore enduring the Gods wrath. This phrase Jesus quoted was from Psalm 22 and he likely had in mind the rest of the Psalm which moves on to a cry of victory. Jesus is not confused and certainly knows why he is dying for this was the purpose of his coming to earth and he mentions that several times in the gospels. His agonizing in Gethsemene was in part because he knew this was coming- this agony that is inconceivable to us. He was experiencing God forsakenness not for anything in himself but for the salvation of others and his utterance of this Psalm was testimony to that. Hopefully this is helpful. Stay strong and keep asking questions. We have nothing to fear from the truth!

I’m 43 yrs old from the Lafayette, LA area and I’ve been a fan for over 20 yrs. I’ve been raised in a non denominational church my entire life and I’ve accepted Christ as a teenager. Our church has always encouraged believers to participate in “believer’s baptism “ as an outward expression of an inward work that has taken place but not necessarily at the same time as accepting Christ. It is taught that the early Christians stressed baptism to display their “turning away” from Judaism and all of the old law it represented and were now Christ followers. But now days we do it to follow the example of the early church and openly confess Christ to the witnesses at church. Listening to you guys discuss this topic , you bring up very valid points about baptism at the time of salvation. So now what happens? Since I did not follow the order of operations, am I not saved? Then if you say, well sure you’re saved - you did this out of ignorance - then the argument that baptism is not necessary wins. But if you say , no you are not saved , then that means there is something that I didn’t do that I must go back and do to receive the gift of salvation. Please, do not take this as a rebuttal or sarcasm because I assure you it is not. This is exactly why it is a confusing topic and it is now confusing for me when it has never been before. Most of Paul’s writing confirms saved by grace and nothing else required but much of Acts and basically all the apostles that stayed in Jerusalem pushed baptism. This is the confusion - not the fact that people don’t understand what baptism represents. In fact the preacher says, buried with Him in likeness of his death, and raised to walk in newness of life. This is just an inside view if you will, of what is taught in many churches today. Thanks for the good work you guys are doing and I would love to hear your comments on this. Thank you

    Dear Pastors,
Greetings to you all. Pertaining to Water Baptism--may this help.
Years ago, a man named Andrew on a Christian forum online had asked a question grabbing my attention. He wondered why John the Baptist was the Elijah to come.
I began thinking about this, but I realized I could not distinguish why Elijah was depicted, as all Prophets of old taught repentance, and they all loved their people. So it really puzzled me.
Some days later I specifically asked the Lord Jesus this very question, "Why was John the Baptist the Elijah to come?" And the Lord Jesus gave me immediately this momentary vision!
I just stood in awe as I saw some of Elijah's servants very close up, seeing some of the backs of their shoulders, and they were pouring water--pertaining to the contest bull that Elijah had on Mt. Carmel in 1 Kings 18.
I felt like I was there in that brief moment! I somewhat sensed what was around me and even the arid weather. And most of all, I understood from what the Lord Jesus showed me was that Jesus was the Sin Offering.
The fire that came down was the Holy Spirit consuming Jesus.
As I stood there amazed, I suddenly asked the Lord, "But Lord, did the Chief Rulers (Pharisees, etc.) worship Baal?" But as soon as I asked, the Lord reminded me of John 8. These people's father was the devil.
This amazing moment in my life kept meaning more and more to me as time went on. As I examined more, the things that Elijah said and experienced were much like John the Baptist, also both were much discouraged at one point. Figuratively, a lot of parallels.
And of course, it goes without saying; Jesus Who was the Sin Offering could "touch" unclean people such as the leprous and heal them. I believe Lev. 6:17-18 and 27-28 shows us this.
Also, there are various Bibles which do say in the bottom study notes that there was really no reason why Jesus needed to be baptized by John the Baptist. I would like to caution people to not accept these kinds of statements.
Pertaining to your various videos on Baptism: Years ago, I walked around thinking, if I never got water baptized, "at what point" would I have died and rose again with Him? But later I heard an awesome sermon, that actually we died with Jesus on the cross. But the most curious thing…even years prior to the vision when I spoke on/mentioned water baptism-perhaps in a Bible study, etc., to my surprise people, even some children, suddenly decided to get baptized.
Also, after the vision the Lord Jesus gave me, I often thought of Romans 12:1 as far as if Jesus is our example, to do so likewise. In that sense, baptism would be a deeper spiritual meaning; howbeit, a created soul pledged to Jesus and to be consumed by the Holy Spirit. (I do hope people know I am not talking about legalism, works, etc. Only Jesus saves.)
When I heard Si and you all talking about the Holy Spirit hovering over, I really appreciated that so much. Super, wow.
I was baptized in water three times. The first in the ocean, and later due to ignorance, I had no idea what was said over me. During a revival many years later, I got baptized with a number of other people, and because I bought a cassette tape of this baptism service soon realized nothing was said over me. Much later I was baptized yet again in another place, and everything was said over me-so glad. It truly was one of the happiest days of my life. There is more to say about that, but just prior to that 3rd baptism, I was kind of stressed thinking…what if I am baptized a bunch of times before I am old? And I realized, if we are led to do it, it is all good. Yet, after all these years, I still say it was one of the happiest days of my life. And I believe the Lord Jesus was very pleased.
God bless you in Jesus' Name.
P.S. If you would like me to share why God had to die on the Cross, I would be happy to share.
