This is exactly why I wrote my comment. I do this job and I do not gaslight people. However the bad ones, like this one, destroy our industry's reputation by doing just that. Our job is to make you feel good, not bad. There's actual science (physics) behind it, so objectively there are colours that will suit your type and a good colourist will give you them. If it's only based on the "colourist's" opinion and not facts and they throw a good amount of insults in, then it will be gaslighting, so worthless and a waste of your time and money.
The first red that was cool and somewhat pinkish would look so good on you with a matching lip of that color! The ending look was honestly beautiful though
There's ways to be polite and tell someone the truth without being hurtful. The, "you look bloated" and "footlocker" comments were unnecessary. Why work with clients every day if you're just going to be petty and rude about it? 🤷♀️
I’ve seen this color theory stylist in other influencer videos. I think she plays it up on video for content and also because it’s become a brand in a weird way (kinda reminds me of the restaurants that market themselves based on the rudeness of their staff as sort of a novelty thing). The influencers going to see her are aware of that, which is why Sonya said “I’m about to get roasted.” She fully knew what she was signing up for haha. It’s definitely not for everyone though. I think influencers especially choose to go to her because this style gets more engagement; it’s portrayed in a more controversial way, driving more people to comment on the video.

Hi, professional artist and color specialist here. This specific industry does not actually use color theory like they easily could and should with skin tones and shapes and complexions, for textures or looks. Its based in guestimating opinion rooted in east asian beauty standards, not in color theory. Its a scam. These have always been a scam.
@auraluna7679 color standards are universally recognized. That's the problem, there is no asian beauty standards for color, only opinion deep rooted in prejudice on your body and hair and face.
@@thecammiverseSummer and Winter are both cool seasons in the color theory. @@skyegroome223 If you find a good one it’s not just an opinion. There are some good color analysts out there, like the girls in Australia, they are very kind but proffesional, you can totally follow what they are saying and see what they see. I don’t remember what their page is called right now. Color studio something, I think.
Some people may not think colors look good on you, but if you like it, then go for it, I'm told that any light colors make me look deathly ill but I like my pastel and white clothes
I wanna go to two separate color analysis places and watch them give me two wildly different answers, or dye my hair and go back to the same place after like a year. Very subjective.
😂😂😂 Its possible to just look at someone to know what colour season they are, some people are not that easy to know straight away without doing the comparisons. Dyed hair colour should be covered up when testing for your colour season. And, if your season is summer, and you wear no make up with a warm brown shirt, from the autumn colours, you might look rather ill, which could be how you want to look. Possibly she meant if she were to change her hair colour, to go for jet black and bleach blonde. I also think jet black would make her stand out. Not sure about the bleach blonde
Girly you literally looked gorgeous with all of them, dw about it 😭😭
This just proves how far confidence can take u. You just gotta be confident about ur bullshit and people will play you.
you look sooo good in dark red!!
I'm just a firm believer that people should wear what makes them happy. Not whatever this is.
guys wear what you want 😭🙏
you are gorgeous in everything
Girl, you are so pretty you could probably wear anything and it would look good on you!
I LOVE the bright red on you! It's jaw dropping truly! Lots of bright reds read cool. Obviously do what makes you happy and choose what you'd like, but that bright poppy red was 🤩
You can’t be a summer & a winter. What did this lady tell you?🤦🏻♀️
shes a true cool
Yes she can
People do not fall into exactly four boxes. She means that she can wear some colors from summer and some from winter, not necessarily that she can wear all colors from both.
Summer is an cool season
U can. Educate urself before telling her off
the bangs looks so gooddd
That deep purple looks stunning on you 💜💜 you’re so pretty!
I love the stylists fashion sense!! So cool and cute at the same time
Ngl, if it was me, ID STILL WEAR ALL THE COLORS *even the ones that arent my age/dont suit me cuz right before i did that test, i was perfectly fine with how i look in all those colors* But Girl ur litterly so prettyyyy u litterly scream old money vibes/asthetic and im here for it- *btw thats my favorite style/asthetic so the fact that it suits a pretty girl like u, who i wanna be like when i grow up, makes me feel so good/comforted! *btw pls dont get creeped out from the name, im a girl but im using my dads phone cuz mine is getting repaired* ur so pretty just remember that!!❤❤❤
Edit: *btw yes i liked my own comment cuz if i didnt, then who will? Jk ppl might/will but u gotta have that confidenceee*
Can we kind of acknowledge that the girl with the hat doing the color analysis thing was being unnecessarily rude?💀
Edit:
You guys don’t have to explain the same thing every single day I got it ,The creator replied to me and I got it, it was a joke , yes. I keep getting new and new comments explaining the same exact thing, please read the replies before replying to me.
Not really! People that work doing these tests always make comments of that kind. They need to be honest so you can find a color that fits you and makes you look good. She is just talking about how certain colors make the girl look. I'm not sure if i managed to explain it correctly. Have a nice day :)
@@yavvale I understand that you have to be honest, I’m fully on board with that but saying things like “ it looks hideous on you” is just unnecessary. Just say “ this isn’t your color”. I get what you’re saying but that’s just my interpretation of her professionalism.
@@yavvale We mean her hair and hat don't match with her skin tone yet she has the audacity to say what matches peoples skin tone💀
@@kristinaavetisyan970 Well, I agree with you on that. Now that I look back, my comment seems a little stupid. Some of the things she said were kinda weird, yes. She could've used different ways to speak about the color thing.
@@kristinaavetisyan970considering the giggling and the fact that she starts the video mentioning she's going to get 'roasted' they are all just jokes I'm sure if the poster was genuinely uncomfortable she would've vocalized it.
Girl, that haircut with wispy bangs looked gorgeous on you oml
These tests shouldn’t be used to tell you a certain colour should be removed from your closet or you can only wear whatever colour. You are gorgeous and should wear whatever makes you happy. Anything will look good on you
she is so young and beautiful that anything looks good on her! seriously
The thing is, you're pretty enough to wear unflattering colors, so it's nice to know your best colors, but don't be afraid to wear your faves
Nah, that goldy colour looked amazing!!
i saw that sage green colour for a moment, looks so good on her imo too:)
@@skullly ikr
I was looking to see if someone commented this cause I was going to! Don’t know if you meant the true gold or more mustard color, but I actually thought that mustardy-gold-dark yellow color, before the oranges, looked really beautiful on her as well. I def wouldn’t stay away from ALL warms if I were her!
Every time I watch these it just feels like the job revolves around gaslighting
This is exactly why I wrote my comment. I do this job and I do not gaslight people. However the bad ones, like this one, destroy our industry's reputation by doing just that. Our job is to make you feel good, not bad. There's actual science (physics) behind it, so objectively there are colours that will suit your type and a good colourist will give you them. If it's only based on the "colourist's" opinion and not facts and they throw a good amount of insults in, then it will be gaslighting, so worthless and a waste of your time and money.
It's like you're paying them to roast you lol 💀 definitely a scam 🙅♀️
she is read her pinned comment
okay but the BANGS. THEY LOOKS SO CUTE
The first red that was cool and somewhat pinkish would look so good on you with a matching lip of that color! The ending look was honestly beautiful though
She was just jealous orange compliments your hair so well
most korean girls are always like that
You looked so good with the dark red and dark brown hair, i hate these colour analysts lmao
@princessaria Thank you for clarifying! I was really thinking that they were lowkey friends but the kind where one was just really mean to the other without the other realizing it 😅 I'm really glad it's not that!
@@princessariaYes, it was giving “insult restaurant” vibes. I would hate that!
The creator asked for them to be brutally honest
And she lacks talent as well.
Omg babe, that's me too! I just wear all neutral all the time now, bc everything makes me look not good, same w/ makeup. The Final looks really great, & you're actually Beautiful Period, so, no worries for you. Fun video, Thanks for posting ❤️⭐
girl every single color looks amazing on u 😭
The teal blue color, and silver looks the best on you
Hi, professional artist and color specialist here. This specific industry does not actually use color theory like they easily could and should with skin tones and shapes and complexions, for textures or looks. Its based in guestimating opinion rooted in east asian beauty standards, not in color theory. Its a scam. These have always been a scam.
Yeah was confused as to why the girl said she's a Summer AND a Winter. Like how? These are two different things.
But colour analysis exist in other countries too. Are those based on asian beauty standards too?
@auraluna7679 color standards are universally recognized. That's the problem, there is no asian beauty standards for color, only opinion deep rooted in prejudice on your body and hair and face.
@@thecammiverseSummer and Winter are both cool seasons in the color theory. There are also sub-categories in each season etc. But she can probably wear colors from both of these seasons - I am the same, although I am Winter, I can still wear Summer and the colors work well for me too.Maybe less we’ll, but still well.
@zuzanaxyz8866 Yep that's the only explanation I could think of. I know True Summer and True Winter have quite a bit of overlap. Still find it a bit odd to just say she's both though. Surely she leans one way or another.
I think you also have an olive undertone like Mila Kunis. You can still try cool reds, especially cool muted reds.
The last makeup looks so good on you😍
That makeup looks amazing on you!!! ❤
These color analysists are having too much fun roastibn their clients, in the exuce of "giving ab opinion" on the right color😭✋
It not about the right color, I believe everyone should play with color. I love to play with colors but we are just telling our clients the best color for their natural complexion
Its def js a joke lol check the pinned comment
@@lilxlbao i get it. But the comments are sometimes unnecessary whether its a joke or not
@@joyurizz ik but alot of them do that😭
@@rwnvie though most of them clarify its for content, and the content creators themselves ask for it
You aren’t married to color analysis, you don’t have to throw away everything red in your wardrobe.
I wouldn’t trust someone who is wearing an unflattering tone of hair and highlighter to tell me what looked good on me 😭
The peach tones and grey aren’t nice on the color analysts
The way she looked gorgeous with every colour 😭
You looked good in pretty much all the colors IMO 🤷🏽♀️ it’s hard enough finding clothes I like, adding another layer of complication just sounds exhausting. Wear what you enjoy ❤
She probably says the footlocker joke to every client
Fun fact: normal people probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference so wear whatever you want because not everyone is a color analyzer
This is ridiculous, you look great and red suits you well. The lady giving advice need some one to coordinate the colors she is using for her hair and outfit 😂
This is a blast from the eighties past, having your colours done. The cool palettes of Summer and Winter use blue based reds, including lipsticks.
I like the little black and white checkers pattern on you. Looked elegant.
“What does it look like”
“I don’t know”
She fr just said that’s your job to tell me not for me to tell you.
We try our best to train our clients eyes so they can pick out colors without us there too
that girl doin the analysis like lit a different type of anger in me i didnt know i had wow
Then there's already two of us :)
Someone wearing that hat has no right to judge what's hideous or what isn't 😂😂
And with that peach fuzz colored hair that makes her own skin look GRAY.
@@guccideltaco And that blue sweater has such a grey-pastel look to it… really doesn’t complement the dewy makeup on the stylist. She certainly doesn’t “pop” like someone wearing their “personal season” is supposed to. Colour season is such a scam.
I think color analysis is a legit concept; I definitely see people looking better in certain colors, rather than others. But THIS particular example is an example of someone who DOESN'T know what they're doing. Just like w/ art or fashion, it needs a good eye, and not everyone has that.@@MilA-eh3gf
She's allowed to wear what she wants and paid for someone to be brutally honest with her.
The makeup at the end looked sooo good
Oh wow she really did a great job at the end of the video, you look more radiant and happier. ❤
You let her say all that ish to you? Lol smhh
Girl payed just to get roasted, toasted and deep-fried 💀
Nah don't listen to them. You look in all those colors. I swear this is a scam 😭
lol this can actually be helpful in picking out good clothes that fit your tones and basically look better, they also do your makeup which def fits based on the video. Obviously you can wear what you want but me personally this helped me because i used to look kind of weird with my old closet 😭😭👍👍
No, not a scam at all. Color really does make a big difference. I'm an MUA and can make a person look like death warmed over just by using unflattering colors on them.
It's not a scam, it's colour theory but the analyst in this video is bad. She doesn't understand her own palette and is classist against poor people and shop workers.
You looked so good
In those bangs!
The makeup and hairstyle at the end look very good!
I'd recommend doing House of Colour. The fact that they told you to throw red out of your closet is absurd. Also, a color analysis service that says you look bloated is ENTIRELY unprofessional.
And seriously damaging. She didn't look remotely bloated. Some people would take that to heart. Also, what's wrong with people who come from villages? Is she being classist?
Try this with every colour analyser and see if they come up with the same conclusion because honestly it looks like they are scamming u and basically u are paying them to insult u
At the end of the day, these "analyses" are just based on someone's opinion. That's why I don't take much stock in it.
@@skyegroome223
If you find a good one it’s not just an opinion. Wearing colors that are wrong for you will enhance shadowing, make your skin look dull, bring out dark circles or redness more, enhance a double chin if you have one. It can also make you look sick if you wear green, yellow or f,ex orange if your undertones are cool and not warm.
There are some good color analysts out there, like the girls in Australia, they are very kind but proffesional, you can totally follow what they are saying and see what they see. I don’t remember what their page is called right now. Color studio something, I think.
I'm a cool toned girlie - summer muted to be exact. you can still wear red, just specific shades of red that have blue or purple undertones
That is SUCH bullshit. This young lady looked drop-dead gorgeous in almost all the colours !
omg the bangs look so good
Some people may not think colors look good on you, but if you like it, then go for it, I'm told that any light colors make me look deathly ill but I like my pastel and white clothes
But you look so good in red 😭
“You Live in the woods..?”
*Damn💀*
Bro the makeup is so cute, literally matches u❤
I feel you're a heavy autumn, 🍁🍂 those colors work really well for you
That olive green actually looks really pretty on you
I wanna go to two separate color analysis places and watch them give me two wildly different answers, or dye my hair and go back to the same place after like a year.
So understanding how these colours play and interact with each other can be interesting and fun.
But can we talk about how pretty your color analysis is like wow!! She 100%know what her color is and that hat is so cute 😍
The green one in the beginning looks absolutely stunning on you.
The footlocker one sent me 💀☠️
