I just fell by this as i was looking at LDR's ... let me tell you, for when people say it wont last or that it cant last, all those hurdles and fences....me and my LDR met, and stayed together, i emigrated for her and we have been together for almost 17 years...yes, you read that right, 17 years...meeting on the internet in 1999 and in person that same year...we married in 2004....so when they say it will never last, it can if you are both truthful and honest because your inner selves met long before the rest of you did...people tend to have to go about it the other way around...you actually have a head start...some never get to know the person inside, you got to know that right away.

+umberto maresca wow, is very nice love story. i in LDR too in 18 months but i feel giving up had lots of disappointed from him, he liked to say promises but no action..i believe if you love someone you can't take it to hurt her/him...god bless to your family.. :)

Some days are and sometimes we need space but that's the one thing we have in buckets, sometimes we get pissed because we are not together and sometimes we just need to pull the plug for the day, have the day off as we would in person.
Go to the movies, go out with friends, just take the day off...i learn that over time and when we finally became permanent together and married we cannot stay apart for more then a few hours, we have become clingy but in a nice way, we are strangers to the people we were before which is good because you need to wipe that off your feet when the time comes...to transition to in person becomes a half relationship to a full one.
The tough days are tough but the great days are always one day closer, even a bad day is always one day closer to a meet day.

We've been LDR as well. We're together almost 9 years, married and have children. It can work.
We've been married for 13 years, are now retired and living in Florida, our kids (my step kids) are grown now and do what they wanted, not what we wanted for them...one working with animals, one in the Air Force....I think being LRD's gives you an insight to the person, the soul, not the clamor to biblical knowledge but the gel that is soul mates, we are not trying to play catch up to the personality connection or the fast track to getting to know each other...we know the inner person, we understand if we fit together before we ever personally meet...laugh, cry, vent, fix each others problems, commiserate with those daily chores and annoyances...find out if the other really cares about the little things and can actually talk, relay feelings, awkward cuddles will come but awkward personality conflicts wont....the first meeting is so 'weird' for a few minutes but when the souls meet, the inner selves then its like being reunited after years apart.

60 days until I meet the love of my life. We've been together almost 10 months(it will be next month on the 10th) and known each other for 6 years or so. He's my best friend and he's coming to stay for a month(I know, crazy right? He lives in the Netherlands and I'm in the USA) and I'm so excited. He'll be here for our 1 year anniversary and I can't wait. The days seem to get longer and longer, but I know that it'll be worth it. I'm gonna probably be making a video when he gets here about our story and experience(I plan to have my mother film the meeting too.) and ahhh.. Every time I think about meeting him, I just get so nervous and scared and excited. This was a beautiful story and I'm super happy for you guys. :D

This is so sweet! I got a long distance relationship, and we already know each other for 9 months! He's from Romania, while I'm from Philippines. And on April, he'll gonna come to see me. I'm crossing my fingers though. It gives me mix emotions! It's pretty normal to feel this way right? 😂😅

Congrats and good luck on your ldr. I was in one for four months. Almost 1,000 miles difference. We met on ok Cupid and the next day he asked me to be his gf. I came to visit him in Texas for the first time. Then in three months I moved to Texas to be with him. Now we have our own apartment and he says he knows we're not married but to him it feels like we already are. I'm so happy and I wish you the happiest love life for yourself.

I'm in an LDR, and well I'm supposed to meet him in July. I'm really scared because what if I'm not what he expected/wanted. We're not that far away from each other but it's still far that we can't see each other (other end if country to me) everyday. we're planning to meet at a convention. can anyone give me advice so I'm not as nervous?
