I'm a malay. i have 4 son. all my son served NS. 3 of my son are guardsman, other 1 are commando. now all working under government service. all are same job. but one of my son are special SPF unit. as a father, I'm proud of them. make spore a safer country.

@@RAM-km8bx I believe you can let the Army know your desire to be trained as one, and they may select you if you meet all the requirements.
@@mll5530 I know NS very hard and they don't select many but if regular how ?
@@RAM-km8bx Well, register your interest by sending a note via www.cmpb.gov.sg . I am sure they will respond to you accordingly.
LTC Clarence Tan was the pioneer in the commando unit and I admire his outstanding moral courage integrity, persistence and perseverance. He does not play "politics" in his profession.
I saw Sam Choo & Leong Yew Wah in the list. Sam Choo is my RSM in CDO Bn, and Encik Leong Yew Wah is my BAC instructor and later "A" coy CSM in 3rd Guards. Both of them are really very nice to me. Encik Leong is the Best CSM in the 3rd Guards and everyone likes him. RIP.
I am malaysian was working in Singapore from 1978-1980 .

and i used be very proud them.

Saw Mr Clarence Tan in Yishun before, old school training is really good he still v healthy.

i once heard my lao jiao encik say last time during his time when CDOs r not equipped with bazooka, they have to know how to climb up a tree ambush a tank by throwing grenades from tree...the modern generation are so lucky to have ATGM(anti tanks guided missile)
his generation are also lucky that theres no war, if got war he can hardly survive
1st commando Bn is going to celebrate their 50 years soon ...

u know why? bcuz now days all the instructor follow orders. cannot shout the recruits. cannot use vulgur words, cannot tekan to hard....rainning time cannot continue training....that why become like this.
