Agree barely anything on lots GMC/GM is going to lose there window of opportunity having been first to assembly line yet may well be last to dealerships if don't hurry up
@@gordmonteath6090 that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard yet. People who want these trucks are willing to wait. Not everyone buying one is brand loyal, most have already done their research and shopped around. They’re not waiting that long, *gm* isn’t losing anything.
I agree with your mid size truck statements about comfort and engines. The new issue to me is full size trucks from every maker have a 25 mpg combined offering while the smaller truck gets worse
you hit the nail on the head! I want a truck but travel 100 miles a day everyday and go downtown so fullsize is out of the question for me. Would love a mid size like the canyon but the rear seats make me so upset lol. mostly for the lack of floor space with the seats folded up. Wish it was like the fullsize trucks where you have good floor space for putting tools etc. also wish the at4 had the full size digital dash that the denali comes with. for the price of the at4 the fact that you cant get the full size digital dash even with all packages added sucks.
Yea great points! It is even worse with the "features" with the Colorados for the price point. These things are holding back from trading in my 2018 ZR2, which is feature rich for a much lower price point. Plus I have the diesel, which gives me a massive mileage range over these.
Just bought a 23’ Canyon AT4 on Long Island, only thing I would recommend that mine doesn’t have, if you are a music lover, get the Bose system upgrade I honestly don’t have any other gripe with the truck so far other than the factory stereo is terrible. 19 mpg for the first two weeks I’ve driven it as a commuter, more than enough power with this turbo 4-cylinder and I am 6’3” and over 300 lbs and very comfortably fit in the truck with plenty of legroom. Great job on the redesign hopefully she is a reliable vehicle 🤞🏻
Really loving the new Colorado and Canyon. But at $48-50k I'm torn between buying a loaded version of one of these two or getting used (30k or less mileage) loaded full size for same price. In my market I see lease returned Trail Boss and AT4s loaded for same price. Patiently waiting to see 2022s coming in since they have the updated interior.
@@chillpengeru it’s nearly apples to oranges. He’s not paying $50k on a used 2022-2023 Sierra AT4 loaded with options with little to no miles and he knows damn well that’s some bs. They keep pushing this narrative that the new GM midsized trucks are _way overpriced_ and it’s theatrics when you consider what they’re offering for the money. They say the same about the *gm* full size trucks - that they’re overpriced. I don’t get it.
Ben, two things: 1. Get a fixed mount for your camera. Wearing a GoPro with a headband makes the watchers feel seasick as you bob and weave your head . . . . 2. The reliability of the 2.7l turbo engine has already been confirmed since it has been available on full size Silverados and Sierras since 2019!
Great review as always, the headlights can be managed through that red button on the screen. After driving it for a while, and the lights being in auto, I find wish I could get rid of the shortcut on the screen. The lights are set it and forget it, I understand why they got rid of the switch, you really shouldn't be messing with them. Too many people shut their day time running lights off, arguably the easiest way to avoid an accident and they can't be bothered 🤷♂️
This is a nice truck but I agree it is the rear seat that kind of makes it a deal breaker, maybe if you could get it for about 15 grand less but for what prices these are commanding they need to be able to do it all including haul family and friends on some longer drives. All they need to do is add 2-3 more inches of rear leg room, would not make the truck massively longer. I think the real reason they don't do it is because they don't want to canabilze on full size truck sales. They know most people don't need the capability but they do like the room of the full sizers.
The design is unmatched. New Tacoma is goofy looking like the Tundra. New Ranger is ugly inside and out as well. Frontier is the only truck truly worth a side by side comparison.
Hey Ben is this the Canyon review that you posted before embargo that you had to take down? Just missing with you man, I enjoy your review. Thanks for the info.
Just remember the car seat gets smaller as the kid gets older. If you focus on the now and being cramped for 6 months because of the backward facing seat then your screwed. Once they get of the the crazy huge baby cocoons the Canyon would be a perfect vehicle for years to come.
The headlight system is a deal breaker for me. I understand people who live in cities or drive on lighted Street probably don’t care. Anyone who lives in a rural setting and drives on country roads at night will probably understand this. It is very common to encounter oncoming traffic, who forget to dim their lights. A simple tap on your brights usually reminds them, and they will dim theirs. GMC just took this rather important safety option away. As you’re being blinded by incoming traffic, they expect you to look down and start using an infotainment screen to try to tap on a button and then tap on it again to dim them. No thanks.

Great looking truck but it sounds like a 4 banger. I wonder what tacoma's 4 cylinder will sound/feel like.
Awesome truck but a mid size truck should get 20-25 mph. And should not cost over $50k.
If you drive on pavement and like comfort, look at the Ridgeline.
Waiting to see the 2024 Ridgeline TrailSport trim😍

Tacoma = boring trucks
The 2024 Ranger with over 400 HP will put it to shame. Even with the 2.7 v6 will put out more power.
400HP ranger is only the raptor. If you want near 400, you have to grab the 2.7 v6. But if you get the turbo 4CYL, you only get around 300HP
Who needs 400hp in a medium sized truck. 300hp is more than sufficient.
