Legitimately though, Otil Farmlands is my fave level from Vengeance. Prolly cause it's the one of the best 'sandbox' levels where you can really do any strategy you want.
there is 1 good thing about darklight depths. just one. it is great for farming the highlander achievement. but apart from that, this level can die in a hole.

The Dark Tower holds a special place in my heart. First KR game I ever played, and it was so cool when he became a demon. Took me so many tries, but easily my most fave level.
Y'know, I feel like the deathcoils could have been an interesting idea. turn down their damage, lessen their health a bit, tie them to a less lack luster bunch of enemies... And now you may have something kinda cool, now you still have to strategise on how you're going to kill them with that much range but at the same time don't trivialize your units and hero

Personally, I love playing Duredhel Outskirts. It was probably the second hardest level for me to complete and I love the scenery of the twilight elves maps. Baj'nimen is super fun to beat also.
I think my favourite level is the last main jungle level from Frontiers, because you can start it just by building mecha and survive about 5 waves with it and it's super fun after that.
Otil Farmlands has helped me a lot. I think it's a good level ... for farming achievements Seriously, you can just use a ranged hero and 2 Shadow Archers at the exit and the rest is whatever tower you need the achievement for. I even did a run with Dark Knights only.

Im kind of surprised that you didn't include any of the vengeance mini campaign bosses as some of the worst levels. They are overall badly designed featuring really slow and boring enemies, having the level get most of its difficulty from just one or two waves, and very lazily made easy bossfights (like the ice queen or the king frog whatever). Other than the great video. I agree with most of your points.
Couldn’t agree more, the two ghosts were the easiest and most boring boss fight in all of kingdom rush, it was one of the worst boss fights in the entire series. The only mini campaign boss fight that was good in krv was the Pond of the Sage, it was actually somewhat challenging. Otherwise, Ironhide had a chance to revive the game with the new campaign they just added to krv but they failed utterly. Almost no new enemies, reusing enemy ideas, and making the levels beyond easy, boss was way over designed and still wasn’t even challenging or cool?

Surprisingly enough, I didn't get much trouble with the Saurian Deathcoils (veteran level without object, I play on Switch). A bunch of crossbows with barrage and/or falconer at the entrance and that's it. Honestly, I did like this level, far from being as terrible as what I thought.
Oh man, I didn't even think about forgoing barracks entirely for darklight depths. I put so much effort into killing the deathcoils at the start before they could kill my units. If archmage spam works on the highest difficulty, then that would have been much simpler.
I wasn’t sure about Otil farmlands being terribly easy, then I tried the set up in the video on IMPOSSIBLE difficulty, so 2 dark knight towers, a coal thing and 2 bone flingers, I had 5000 gold left at the end and only had one enemy nearly slip through
The worst is the Frontiers last campaign level, because the boss destroys your towers, so it converts a Tower Defense into a Real Time Strategy, but without money to re-build. The way to beat is by build only cheap towers (few barracks and all archer towers), so you save money to quick rebuild at the end. Basically you are forced into a cheap war instead a full one.
I did lose the first few times I played it, nevermind in veteran mode, since I didn't think about saving up money and I got unlucky that the boss destroyed my most invested towers
i mean i wouldn't say it's the worst i would say it makes the gameplay more interesting and forces you to play differently then you would ussually without limiting what strategy you can use
@@darkcat6530 I understand that concept when in Starcraft or most strategy games, you have only few units to 'escape' from somewhere, or 'rescue' someone, etc. But those 'special stages' are in the early, or middle campaign, not at the end! I actually love otil farmland. While it might bot be one I use for fun it’s perfect for sandbox. You have a miniboss to test single target damage of towers or hero’s, many weak enemies to test crowd control and it’s the best to test towers since any strategy works.
Won't go into deep details but Wizard's Landing and Bleak Valley are some of the new worst levels in the series. Meanwhile I'd say Corruption Valley and Treasure Island are new contenders for the top 5 best levels. Treasure Island in particular would easily be in the top 3 in my eye if it wasn't for the obnoxiously tight, borderline unfair money stealing "gimmick". But in general it's weird how amazing Pirate Kings campaign is, especially compared to Hammerhold.
@@Shyguymask So... Do any stages from Undying Fury make it? Admittedly none of the levels stood out to me. Also I hate Bleak Valley with every cell of my body.
i actually liked darklight depths, thought it was a fun challenge after quite a few attempts. i figured out a pretty balanced setup-no archmage spam needed-with a couple ways to spawn kill the coils back. i see how it could be pretty frustrating though
I'm considering if Otil's Farmland is the worst one out of them all instead. After all, being boring is probably worst than being frustrating, wouldn't you agree?
I just can't get the original volcano area music out of my head, every so often I would hear a something similar and then this would be stuck my head for at least a couple minutes. Oh well. The music's not bad, just very short. Neat video, brings back memories. A top video using only text, was an interesting read/watch.
I love the saurian levels. The transcendence of Fantasy into Science Ficiton is what I found the most compelling because it was done right. From a challenge/difficulty standpoint, the invisibility and brutal butchery of your soldiers from afar abilities posed significantly novel challenges.
here is a list of some of the most painful kingdom rush levels for me Icewind Pass Forsaken Valley Ancient Necropolis Buccaneers Den Crimson Valley Beresad's Lair The Sunken Citadel Bonesburg The Crystal Lake The Unseelie Court Mactan's Retreat Shrine of Elynie Duredhel Outskirts Tainted Pit City of Lozagan every single kingdom rush vengeance elite level
Otil Farmlands is easy I agree, yet it is a great level to mess around, work on tactics and test out weapons. I still feel guilty for killing Joe Jenkins, his scream is saddening. 😂
My favorite and hardest level is Castle Blackburn..... Because we have 3 ways, and 2 with enemy skeleton and zombie spawns very close to exit, we have Abominations, barracks and hero killers Black Hags, and fallen knights with spectral knights ( and you really need to mix you attacks), for me the best level
interesting... i kinda liked the deathcoil level... i mean sure it was obnoxious but if u dont let them stack up its fine... just shift alric from side to side and have full crossbow bolts on both sides and a necromancer to make targets for deathcoils and stall them...
I liked darklight depths for the single reason that since i was relying on bruxa to kill the razorwings, it was the only level that made me have to constantly move my hero which was a noticable change
The deathcoil isn't that horrible, yes they kill heroes and units a lot, but i personally think that they are the easiest unit to juggle, when i play that level, i usually just let them attack and when i hear the shooting sound, i just move my heroes away. And i always use captain blackthrone for the most efficent/profit since you may need to move him a lot of time, he may pass a lot of enemies and i think his utility ability can be utilized the most efficent in this level
I’m surprised the Halloween levels from vengeance weren’t anywhere on here. Either hate the ghosts immune to physical, or love the lamps that one shot them. Personally I hate those levels.
My favorite map is Emperspike Depths. Umbra is amazing boss. It's so cool how it explodes and reassembles. Exploding towers with a single glance also makes him very powerful.
My least favorite level is definitely Ancient Necropolis from KR1. It’s because fallen knights have such an annoying design- an enemy that has high armor turns into an enemy with full magic resistance and killaura when it dies. Also, the entire level is just managing two separate paths. As for my favorite, it is Denas’ Castle from KRV due to how many cool elements it has. Vez’nan, the archers shooting at your troops from the wall, the mortar, the stage transition, etc. However, I didn’t find the boss to be very fun.
I think it's the opposite, fallen knights bring a very interesting challenge to the table. It makes you think thrice about where you position your physical and magic towers around the map. If you struggle with them, check out Ignus.
@@Shyguymask Alr I tried the level like a week ago and I was like "immune? Well artillery ignores half armor so who cares" 5 minutes later i realize "wait, you can't ignore half of immune armor" then I finally built mages, apparently the only thing that was killing them was the reflect damage from the barracks and reinforcement Yeah I'm dumb Edit: holy sh- the amount of spelling errors I had to correct was insane
Aww, bummer. The saurian levels are my favorite part of frontiers. You battle these menacing looking dragonkin who fight using futuristic tech, unique abilities like warping and going invisible and whose introduction comic makes them look like they're about to drop the sickest metal album on you. Honestly, battling them is so much fun without feeling like a nuisance, like those annoying tribal people and their annoying poison darts, cannibals, barrier shamans and necromancers
I actually like the enemies themselves (Deathcoils aside), but the level themselves were just lacking. The scenery was really boring, the difficulty was lacking because Mecha is blatantly broken and only kept in check by enemies like Bloodshells and ghosts/phantom, and the level design and gimmicks weren't as interesting as with the Desert and Jungle levels.
Darklight depths is pretty tough but I was relatively able to do it with like strong hitting towers in the center and crossbow forts and mechas for the snipers
I noticed with the death coils enemy if you use your hero to bait the shots and then move it then all of the deathcores will be caught in an endless cycle of shooting at your hero and missing, making it so they can't move.
I personally like the "worst" level In all of kingdom rush because of how it changes how you play and how you need to focus on troop positioning in the back and assassinating the archers with a charecter before they can reach a critical mass and also placing towers to assist killing them and its definitely a challenge
I like darklight depths and the other saurion levels. I really like when we are given unique towers like the dwarf barracks. I think the enemies are cool, especially the big boss lizards. The snipers make it more appealing to not clump all your defenses in one part of the map and make use of stall features that aren't barracks, like the mechs oil slick. Once you have adequate defenses up top you can sit pretty with your barracks further down. I think there are fun ways to handle that level without getting frustrated and just resorting to mage towers everywhere. That being said the sniper guys still could have been implemented a bit better, maybe if the dwarf barracks had a special upgrade that gave them a chance to deflect projectiles back at enemies or something. But regardless, while certainly not the best, I dont think the level is awful.
My strategy is always the same. Put barracks near the exit with strongest mage/sniper, and barracks with artillery near the entrance. And i always use ranged heroes. It works almost all the time
just spam archmages for darklight depths as shown in the video. They can kill anything, and xyzzy won't even make it past the top portion of the map. Your hero and the dwarves will constantly die, but who needs them
Meep. I didn't play enough Kingdom Rush to make it to _any_ title's postgame, but I'm guessing Deathcoils are so brutal you can't even limit them to _exactly one wave_ so they'd be a miniboss instead of the Kingdom Rush equivalent of a Terry Trap.
i was surprised the *ENTIRE* Subaquatic Menace mini-campaign didn't appear, considering that all that's necessary is Blazing Gem spam to beat each level.

I literally finished 'Otil Farmlands' in *impossible* with 1 Blazing Gem and 1 Elite Harassers 💀
2:08 You forgot Hellboy arm-wrestling another Demon. That's the best reference in this game. XD
Just to say,it's a demon from DC too called etrigan, that some people put to fight against Hellboy
@@Jekyll1886 I knew who he was (have heard of him before), but I just forgot his name. Thank you.
now that you mention it, origins does indeed not have much music lmao
it's nice to see KR youtubers get promoted by someone popular like SGM
if mods implemented in this game then it would be dope and more replayability
6:54 Thats the most pitiest excuse of a bastion I've ever seen.
I actually love otil farmland. While it might bot be one I use for fun it’s perfect for sandbox. You have a miniboss to test single target damage of towers or hero’s, many weak enemies to test crowd control and it’s the best to test towers since any strategy works.
I know that you stopped making content, but have any Alliance, Hammerhold or Pirate Kings stages made it to your list, best or worst?
Not really, but they were all pretty solid.
At Darklight Depths, I built mechas close to the enemy entrance points to kill them as soon as possible.
i actually liked darklight depths, thought it was a fun challenge after quite a few attempts. i figured out a pretty balanced setup-no archmage spam needed-with a couple ways to spawn kill the coils back. i see how it could be pretty frustrating though
I'm considering if Otil's Farmland is the worst one out of them all instead. After all, being boring is probably worst than being frustrating, wouldn't you agree?
@@Shyguymask idk, feeling bored is probably better than feeling angry. But that's just my opinion.
From a challenge/difficulty standpoint, the invisibility and brutal butchery of your soldiers from afar abilities posed significantly novel challenges.
here is a list of some of the most painful kingdom rush levels for me
Icewind Pass
Forsaken Valley
Ancient Necropolis
Buccaneers Den
Crimson Valley
Beresad's Lair
The Sunken Citadel
Bonesburg
The Crystal Lake
The Unseelie Court
Mactan's Retreat
Shrine of Elynie
Duredhel Outskirts
Tainted Pit
City of Lozagan
every single kingdom rush vengeance elite level
Otil Farmlands is easy I agree, yet it is a great level to mess around, work on tactics and test out weapons. I still feel guilty for killing Joe Jenkins, his scream is saddening. 😂
Oh I know a thing about enemy spam.
Gemcraft flashbacks.
I used to play a lot of Flash games back in the day. Kingdom Rush was always in my list of favourite games.
@@CorruptX so what version of the game
My favorite and hardest level is Castle Blackburn..... Because we have 3 ways, and 2 with enemy skeleton and zombie spawns very close to exit, we have Abominations, barracks and hero killers Black Hags, and fallen knights with spectral knights ( and you really need to mix you attacks), for me the best level
Shyguymask:pandaemonium is the very hard.Me who beat it first try:Very interesting
11:40 i swear that level hurt so much... it makes me wanna hire dante to take me out
For its:
1. Storm atoll
2. Blackburns castle
3. Bajnimens castle
4. Denas castle
5. Vasils castle for best.
And:
1. Umbra boss fight
2. Every stage with freaking frogs
3. Levels with Deathcoils
4. Otil Farmland
5. Myconid bossfight with 100 swarm things for worst levels ever.
Tbh otil is pretty good for leveling up heroes
but the volcano level from frontiers just hits different
The best level for me is the level in KR1 where you have to beat the big troll named Ulguk Hai ! it was such a fun level
Video suggestion: Tower tier list
Please make a Tierlist about the Towers and Heroes, or at least more Kingdom Rush i Love your Kingdom Rush Content.
I just KNEW rotwick would be on this list! I recently played that level and couldn't help but feel bored with the spam.
These games are so underrated im glad you are making more videos on them.
interesting... i kinda liked the deathcoil level... i mean sure it was obnoxious but if u dont let them stack up its fine... just shift alric from side to side and have full crossbow bolts on both sides and a necromancer to make targets for deathcoils and stall them...
Im kind of glad that there is some mindlessly easy kingdom rush levels. They let me test/level up hero's relatively mindlessly
Yeah umbra is the best
I actually really liked the levels you rated the worst lol. It was nice to have more simple levels sprinkled out
Cozy really suffered thanks to you... good job!
@@Shyguymask
Alr I tried the level like a week ago and I was like "immune? Well artillery ignores half armor so who cares" 5 minutes later i realize "wait, you can't ignore half of immune armor" then I finally built mages, apparently the only thing that was killing them was the reflect damage from the barracks and reinforcement
Yeah I'm dumb
Edit: holy sh- the amount of spelling errors I had to correct was insane
I used Otil Farmlands to level heroes using mostly Rotting Forests. That's how easy it is.
Kid i dont have much time. The aliens-
Last words before vaporisation.
Edit - theres also Origins doesn't have much music huh.
We may never know wth the alien is doing
I agree with you
My strategy is always the same. Put barracks near the exit with strongest mage/sniper, and barracks with artillery near the entrance. And i always use ranged heroes. It works almost all the time
I have all the kingdom rush games but have only actually played vengeance.
I envy you as you have so much fun coming your way. Especially ‘Frontiers’ which I think is the best one. 👍
just spam archmages for darklight depths as shown in the video.

*YEET*
I love how despite having 250k subs shyguymask interacts with creators with less then a thousand...
i was surprised the *ENTIRE* Subaquatic Menace mini-campaign didn't appear, considering that all that's necessary is Blazing Gem spam to beat each level.
Maginicia Shores? BLAZING GEM SPAM
Anurian Plaza? BLAZING GEM SPAM
Pond of the Sage? BLAZING GEM SPAM
But without blazing gem spam? Like me (I have never (really) played with this tower and I don't love it when i try it)
