Enemies are generally weaker and don't deal as much damage in most main campaign level, so Veruk was surprisingly solid for a free hero considering his weaknesses didn't make nearly as big of an impact in those cases, including on Veteran. 2:46:50 Full agreement, Khaz is underrated. He feels like if Ironhide dumped a bunch of unused ideas into one bonus hero... in a great way. He offers a lot of unusual if not unique abilities that other heroes don't offer, while having little glaring weaknesses. Favorite hero alongside Dante.
Veruk is really underrated in that regard, I've defended him from haters for a long time, just cuz they never used veruk in the earlier stages of the main campain
Alric is broken and op for a free hero tbh, dude's a walking barracks and can go toe to toe with heavy hitting enemies, not to mention his broken flury skill
@@darkspyro1634 mirage is weak af but nivus is right behind her, so she only barely qualifies as the weakest frontiers hero. Cronan is also weak but heroes like kutsao and grawl aren't much better so free heroes in frontiers on average aren't weaker than paid heroes.
Oh, one more thing: I remember that when Bruxa was introduced into the game (I was playing on Android back then), the 5 enemies limit on the doll was not a thing, so it was insane against savages and saurians.
It was insane against EVERYTHING! Using it on Zombies in any of the Shadowmoon stages felt like an early version of Beresad's hero spell because of how strong it was.
God I love UA-camrs like you who give so much effort into their videos, despite knowing that it will reach very few people due to how niche the topic is. Finding videos like these is always a gem on UA-cam.
Finally made it all the way through, took me 2 weeks of on and off watching, but I made it. This topic initially didn't interest me, which is why I didn't watch it before recently, but I have to say the video grabbed my interest as I went along, and I really enjoyed it by the end. As someone who often spends one month pr. video, for a channel that will probably never grow into something big, and often doubts if it's even worth it in the end, since I know those viewers, I gather will most likely not carry over, should I decide to focus on something else than Ironhide's games, I admire your courage to spend this long on a project, for the same small community. Even if making videos is what we love, there is still so much tedious work involved with bigger projects, which makes you wonder if it's even worth your time. I have been doing UA-cam for 5 years of my life, and it was only recently, at the end of last year, where I started to give it my all, when I started to get the ball rolling, granted I was at the right place at the right time, with my first video on Vengeance, but had I not put so much care into the video, I don't think it would have taken off like it did. So never settle for something worse, when you could do better, it improves your craft through challenging yourself, and even if the process seems frustrating at times, and it feels like it fills up the majority of the time spent, there is also a lot of moments of enjoyment and pride that goes into creating videos. Whenever I feel tiresome about parts of the process, I always think about how many thousands of people who have watched my videos, even dough I am a small channel, I still gain a lot of views for my size, so even though all of those people will not be coming back to my channel, I still provided so many people with entertainment for 20 min, just like I ultimately enjoyed making that happen.
This is, by far, some of the cleanest and most enjoyable content I’ve ever listened to on UA-cam. I literally stumbled across it and have been listening to it on my bike ride to and from work and whenever I had free time. Thank you
Yeah even the free heroes are good. Razz and rags has so much stalling and blocking potential, Catha has so much stunning and blocking, eridan has good DPS and is really tough to kill, Lilith has crap abilities but can hold her own in a fight thanks to her base stats, and Arivan is a glass cannon
Def agree, though it's got to have the most forgettable towers in the series so far imo Last tier archer towers all use bows- imagine if atleast one of them atleast had spears instead of bows and arrows (I know it's a stereotype but it's meh in design), the rock throwing artillery (forgot the names already) should throw the rocks more like he's actually throwing the rocks and not just the vanilla bomb throw animation from KR1, and the tree tower should atleast made use of it's roots like he stabs his hands on the ground and roots sprout on the target direction, the barracks are interesting but the blade dancers feels like a reskin of the assassins fron frontiers, the mages are good but again forgettable, wild magus feels like archer towers but they did magic damage- the high elven mage on the other hand has a cool gimmick with the sentinels AGAIN, IT'S JUST MY OPINION
This video is a masterpiece in the most literal meaning of the word. The amount of research is insane, the accuracy and depth of the picks and explanations for them go farther than I could have ever hoped, and it's so entertaining that I intended to play this in the background but watched in fullscreen the whole way through. Even though I watched it in 2x speed, I still got all the info across. I really can’t believe that 7 years ago watching my dad playing pandemonium on his tiny phone would lead me to beating all levels on veteran in all the games. I’m not sure why, but I always thought that KR was a not very popular game that not very many people knew about, though it was quite a large part of my childhood. This video really reminds me that there is much more to this community other than me and my dad, and that legends like you are willing to take literal months to inform the community about its contents. The ragdolls from Razz & Rags have really good stats but fundamentally just can’t get that much done in the short time before they get turned back into enemies. They should 100% have a mapwide aggro range to allow them to automatically seek out the closest enemies. This allows them to deal and take more damage in far more situations, and allows you to use the hero spell far more liberally. Even the worst outcome of the ragdolls not fighting anything occurs would still mean that the ragdolls travelled up the path for 8 seconds, effectively buying you more time to deal damage to that enemy This one change would solve so many of the fundamental problems with this hero, and it alone would likely catapult Razz & Rags into the top half of all KR heroes
Poor Bolin Farslayer. I figured he would be ranked low on the list. Another interesting thing is what you said about Alleria's wildcat. I cannot believe that at lvl 10 on iOS, it only does 2-4 damage. Also, on my system, her attack damage at lvl 10 is different. She does 15-26 and not 17-25. Not sure if you have that, but it is certainly on mine.
What a magnum opus of a video. The detail is so exceptional and learning about how to use certain heroes is very interesting. The editing and jokes are entertaining as well so it really feels like you tried very, VERY hard on this video which I know most certainly you did. This is one of the few videos that really don’t get stale for me, and I am so glad it was something with so much passion put into it. Actually a top 10, maybe even top 5 video I have seen on UA-cam (which is basically where I watch all my videos so all-time). What a masterpiece of a video. @@Voduke789 I really like a little surviving game called don't starve together. The debate on which character is the best has been going for over a decade without a clear answer. Noone has ever put this much effort into testing characters to have a definiteve ranking on the same level as in this video. Also I didn't mention it but I love the puns related to every hero at the end of their discussion. I love puns.
@@gi-go8575 Well, then you've probably didn't watch a lot of DST content or played the game for a very long time. The question of who is the best character in that game was always quite easy to answer, since a good player can offset the other tasks different characters can do. For a while, it was Wolfgang, simply because of his damage. Currently its Wanda, because outside of damage and tankiness she also has a ton of utility. Though I don't know how much the talent trees changed. DST overall greatly suffers from nonsensical character design too, the most prominent example of which is Walter

One small correction: Eiskalt does not have to be over the path to use Avalanche. It works even if he is off to the side, he just flings it onto the path.
I will never get how catha is in the top 10. Arivan and eridan always worked better for me, but this is most likely more accurate than my delusional rankings purely based off of experience and subjective thinking, but still great job man👍👍! Edit: I seriously have no words having watched the whole thing, so expect something as profound if not more than the praise you got in the other comments coming from me if only I could articulate my thoughts in an honest and understandable way.
Well, keep in mind Catha is so good because her hero spell has about double the range on the current Android/Steam/Switch version than she used to have. And this version has only come to Android during April/May 2019, so it's likely you played her before that.
I’ve already commented before, but I always come back to this video every like 3-4 months. It just randomly shows up on my feed and I always watch it when it does. It’s seriously such good and well thought out content. If only everyone could put this much effort into what they were passionate about.

Since I played Flash, most of these heroes I never knew what they could do, only saw them in the background when choosing a hero or upgrading one. Mirage was ironically top tier for me. Cronan to me was a hero that can’t do any damage and was too complicated to use.
I prefer rangers over walls anyway, I hate that the most beloved heroes are the ones that just get stuck onto the entrance as the player calls it a day
I like that even though the ios changes don’t affect the rankings you still mentioned them for iOS players to learn from, thank you for this incredible behemoth of a video

That poor Panda is such a frustrating hero. I wanted to buy him when I first played the game, I'm glad I didn't. He's got some reason more frustrating to me than Karkinos. Kark is my favorite hero when it comes to looks and coolness.

Such hard work and dedication. You’re most likely or definitely a legend in the KR community. I came back a few weeks ago to playing these KR games years after my first time playing KR on flash as a child.
Watched the whole thing, worth every second. This was very inspirational and I wasn't expecting that. Especially the ending, you did an amazing job and this will live forever and possibly be the best archive for people to pick there heros and understand the game more. *IOS vez'nan also has the problem of his demon not dealing true damage, instead inflicting physical damage in melee and magic in ranged, additionally, magic shackles only deals 30 damage instead of 36, and soul burn only takes into account the maximum hp of enemies and not their remaining health, which is probably more important than his skills' overlapping effects, unless this was fixed and I didn't notice, which makes IOS Vez'nan inferior still.

Oh, one more thing: I remember that when Bruxa was introduced into the game (I was playing on Android back then), the 5 enemies limit on the doll was not a thing, so it was insane against savages and saurians.
It was insane against EVERYTHING! Using it on Zombies in any of the Shadowmoon stages felt like an early version of Beresad's hero spell because of how strong it was.

Finally made it all the way through, took me 2 weeks of on and off watching, but I made it.
This topic initially didn't interest me, which is why I didn't watch it before recently, but I have to say the video grabbed my interest as I went along, and I really enjoyed it by the end.
As someone who often spends one month pr. video, for a channel that will probably never grow into something big, and often doubts if it's even worth it in the end, since I know those viewers, I gather will most likely not carry over, should I decide to focus on something else than Ironhide's games, I admire your courage to spend this long on a project, for the same small community. Even if making videos is what we love, there is still so much tedious work involved with bigger projects, which makes you wonder if it's even worth your time. I have been doing UA-cam for 5 years of my life, and it was only recently, at the end of last year, where I started to give it my all, when I started to get the ball rolling, granted I was at the right place at the right time, with my first video on Vengeance, but had I not put so much care into the video, I don't think it would have taken off like it did. So never settle for something worse, when you could do better, it improves your craft through challenging yourself, and even if the process seems frustrating at times, and it feels like it fills up the majority of the time spent, there is also a lot of moments of enjoyment and pride that goes into creating videos. Whenever I feel tiresome about parts of the process, I always think about how many thousands of people who have watched my videos, even dough I am a small channel, I still gain a lot of views for my size, so even though all of those people will not be coming back to my channel, I still provided so many people with entertainment for 20 min, just like I ultimately enjoyed making that happen.

I really like how none of the 10 worst heroes is from origins, this really shows how the heroes in this game are te best ones.
Yeah even the free heroes are good. Razz and rags has so much stalling and blocking potential, Catha has so much stunning and blocking, eridan has good DPS and is really tough to kill, Lilith has crap abilities but can hold her own in a fight thanks to her base stats, and Arivan is a glass cannon

Last tier archer towers all use bows- imagine if atleast one of them atleast had spears instead of bows and arrows (I know it's a stereotype but it's meh in design), the rock throwing artillery (forgot the names already) should throw the rocks more like he's actually throwing the rocks and not just the vanilla bomb throw animation from KR1, and the tree tower should atleast made use of it's roots like he stabs his hands on the ground and roots sprout on the target direction, the barracks are interesting but the blade dancers feels like a reskin of the assassins fron frontiers, the mages are good but again forgettable, wild magus feels like archer towers but they did magic damage- the high elven mage on the other hand has a cool gimmick with the sentinels

The amount of research is insane, the accuracy and depth of the picks and explanations for them go farther than I could have ever hoped, and it's so entertaining that I intended to play this in the background but watched in fullscreen the whole way through.

I really can’t believe that 7 years ago watching my dad playing pandemonium on his tiny phone would lead me to beating all levels on veteran in all the games. I’m not sure why, but I always thought that KR was a not very popular game that not very many people knew about, though it was quite a large part of my childhood. This video really reminds me that there is much more to this community other than me and my dad, and that legends like you are willing to take literal months to inform the community about its contents. Ten'shi changes everything. He is a real hero.
His only issue is his AI and the lack of a constant/instant ability, other than his true dmg attacks.
The conclusion really hit me for some reason, the effort you put into this is insane and it deserves a million views. My mind was blown when i first saw how detailed this was, and to see that it lasts for more than 4 hours. I hope you're happy with the result, thank you so much for this!!!

The ragdolls from Razz & Rags have really good stats but fundamentally just can’t get that much done in the short time before they get turned back into enemies. They should 100% have a mapwide aggro range to allow them to automatically seek out the closest enemies. This allows them to deal and take more damage in far more situations, and allows you to use the hero spell far more liberally. Even the worst outcome of the ragdolls not fighting anything occurs would still mean that the ragdolls travelled up the path for 8 seconds, effectively buying you more time to deal damage to that enemy This one change would solve so many of the fundamental problems with this hero, and it alone would likely catapult Razz & Rags into the top half of all KR heroes
Poor Bolin Farslayer. I figured he would be ranked low on the list. Another interesting thing is what you said about Alleria's wildcat. I cannot believe that at lvl 10 on iOS, it only does 2-4 damage. Also, on my system, her attack damage at lvl 10 is different. She does 15-26 and not 17-25. Not sure if you have that, but it is certainly on mine.

What a magnum opus of a video. The detail is so exceptional and learning about how to use certain heroes is very interesting. The editing and jokes are entertaining as well so it really feels like you tried very, VERY hard on this video which I know most certainly you did. This is one of the few videos that really don’t get stale for me, and I am so glad it was something with so much passion put into it. Actually a top 10, maybe even top 5 video I have seen on UA-cam (which is basically where I watch all my videos so all-time). What a masterpiece of a video. @@Voduke789 I really like a little surviving game called don't starve together. The debate on which character is the best has been going for over a decade without a clear answer. Noone has ever put this much effort into testing characters to have a definiteve ranking on the same level as in this video.
Also I didn't mention it but I love the puns related to every hero at the end of their discussion. I love puns.
@@gi-go8575 Well, then you've probably didn't watch a lot of DST content or played the game for a very long time. The question of who is the best character in that game was always quite easy to answer, since a good player can offset the other tasks different characters can do.
For a while, it was Wolfgang, simply because of his damage. Currently its Wanda, because outside of damage and tankiness she also has a ton of utility. Though I don't know how much the talent trees changed.
DST overall greatly suffers from nonsensical character design too, the most prominent example of which is Walter

One small correction: Eiskalt does not have to be over the path to use Avalanche. It works even if he is off to the side, he just flings it onto the path.
I will never get how catha is in the top 10. Arivan and eridan always worked better for me, but this is most likely more accurate than my delusional rankings purely based off of experience and subjective thinking, but still great job man👍👍!

Well, keep in mind Catha is so good because her hero spell has about double the range on the current Android/Steam/Switch version than she used to have. And this version has only come to Android during April/May 2019, so it's likely you played her before that.

I’ve already commented before, but I always come back to this video every like 3-4 months. It just randomly shows up on my feed and I always watch it when it does. It’s seriously such good and well thought out content. If only everyone could put this much effort into what they were passionate about.

Since I played Flash, most of these heroes I never knew what they could do, only saw them in the background when choosing a hero or upgrading one.
Mirage was ironically top tier for me. Cronan to me was a hero that can’t do any damage and was too complicated to use.
I prefer rangers over walls anyway, I hate that the most beloved heroes are the ones that just get stuck onto the entrance as the player calls it a day

Just finished watching and I have to say man that what you did isn't worthless. I might not be the best person to say this since I'm also just 21 yrs old but for at least the 1000+ people in the kingdom rush community, what you did made an impact to us. Don't waste your life thinking about what you can leave in this world since everything will sort itself out. I might not have the qualification to say this but you will probably leave something significant on the world.
What I dislike about frontiers is that they gave all the heroes a bunch of new upgrade slots and filled them with stat boosts

*IOS vez'nan also has the problem of his demon not dealing true damage, instead inflicting physical damage in melee and magic in ranged, additionally, magic shackles only deals 30 damage instead of 36, and soul burn only takes into account the maximum hp of enemies and not their remaining health, which is probably more important than his skills' overlapping effects, unless this was fixed and I didn't notice, which makes IOS Vez'nan inferior still.
