Three of the last four teams still playing haven’t made it to the third round since the 90’s. We’ve been to three Finals in 15 years, won it all once, and won a couple of Presidents trophies to boot. Imagine being a Toronto, Detroit, or Montreal fan. Everybody knew since last summer that this was going to be a bridge year. Obviously Zacha and Coyle were over their heads in the top two center spots. Let’s see what Donny does in the offseason. Hopefully he gets a guy like Elias Lindholm.
@@nickgiammarino2262 literally all 4 have been to the 3rd round in the last 2 seasons…. I’m not upset we didn’t advance past the second round in this year specifically, it’s when I examine Don Sweeneys body of work over the course of a decade, that’s when I get upset. One season past the second round, a long list of piss poor drafts (missing on Barzal, Connor, Chabbot, Eriksson Ek, Boeser, Konecny, Aho, Kiprizov, Josh Norris, Robert Thomas), horrendous contracts (Belesky, Backes, etc.) firing a coach who goes on to win a cup the very next season. So that’s why I question having COMPLETE confidence in Don Sweeney
I' am the same age as Cam Neeley and Don Sweeney, Cam was my favorite player after Rick Middleton retired. I'm from Queens NYC, not far from Charlie MacAvoy, and saw him and Adam Fox of the Rangers play many times as kids. So I have been a Boston Bruins Fan since 1978. Always proud to be a fan of the Bruins, unlike other sports like the Cowboys uh hummmm, lol I know Cam and Donny and the Jacobs family and now Monty ...want to win. I will continue support the Boston Bruins like I have for almost 5 decades. Go Bruins!

Keeping the tandem is great for the regular season but i'd rather a quality forward than a A2 goalie who sits on the bench all game in the playoffs. hopefully Sweeney figures this out quickly no way you can tie up $12m or more in goalies and expect to get alot upfront.
Neely said he'd like to see the guys win more 50/50 battles for the puck, right? That won't happen unless the man seated to his left stops obtaining players in his own image: Steen, Boqvist, Anthony Richard, Georgii Merkulov, Heinen. can't overpower bigger, heavier players. Matt Grit-less and former signee, Jack Achan had no business being on D. The Bruins have some big guys but they don't play big. So until the B's add bigger, more rugged, gritty players, expect more of the same.
1 Need a big face-off guy at critical juncture of the game (like a Staal or Barkov type); 2 Relying on Marchand, Coyle, Zacha, Pastrnak and McAvoy way too much in the beginning of the season to get points and they ran out of gas, need to roll 4 lines and has to get stronger/faster players. As much as I like Poitras' game, he is one hit from LTIR; 3 Need to get a left defenseman that is fast and have a great shot, big will be a plus. 4 The only players I will keep for next year (Lohrei, Carlo, Lindholm, McAvoy, Peeke, Marchand, Coyle, DeBrusk, Zacha, Pastrnak, Brazeau, Federick and Geekie, Swayman), fill out the other 9 players through draft, trade, free agency, etc.
Mostly because Montgomery isn't a playoff coach. Every time he hits the playoffs, he abandons what has worked for him all season. Never getting a cup under him.
Get younger and faster during the off-season. This year our wingers were 35 and 36 years old. Last year Bergy and Kejici were 36 and 37 years old. We're holding onto guys too long and they're slow. That's pushing us into OT during the regular season and games 7's in the playoffs. We have 10 players on the current roster that are 30 and over. This can't go on.
Great year Boston sadly it did not turn out the way most wanted. Turning point where I thought Boston started losing series was challenged goal because of goalie interference. Boston lost challenge Florida gets power play and all the momentum. If Boston won challenge then goal would not have counted and Boston gets power play giving Boston the momentum and winning that game and right now it would be Boston vs NYC east final. Anyhow good luck next year Boston.
Sign Pat Maroon for 1 year. The Bruins need physical players. Look what happen to Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak. Those players are there to score, not to fight.
So Don says in a perfect world he would like to keep the tandem goalie setup because it's damn good. It's so good that ya only used Ullmark for 1 playoff game. Again, Montgomery and Swayman lost it for us. 2 seasons in a row. Let's take what works for us all season and completely throw it out the window when we hit the playoffs. Never getting a cup with Montgomery as coach.
The Bruins have fired coaches, changed personnel ( roster), tried playing 2 goalies, etc...the only common theme is Sweeney and Cam in the front office. Bad drafts, bad trades, mismanaged cap $$...Sweeney and Cam need to go... Immediately!
Omg shut up, they’ve been highly competitive the entire time they’ve been in charge of player personnel… It’s the hardest trophy in sports to win… Look how long it took Tampa to build that elite team that went to 3 consecutive cups and won 2 in a row. They were arguably building that team for 12 years, before they finally won it in 2020.
@olegpokotilov2613 WTF are you talking about? Lohrei played very well and looks promising. The rest of Sweenys drafts have Sucked. Beecher is a 4th line player, Poitra was hurt and looks like a very small but fairly talented 3rd line center. You have zero 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks this year. As of 2024, the Bruins farm system and talent pool is ranked 30th in the NHL. You need to check your facts before you spew BS. Neely and Sweeney are probably one of the worst front offices in the NHL. Time to go...see ya.
@wesleyjacqueson9180 So are we just playing to be competitive? Or to not be spanked and outclassed every time the playoffs come around. Should we give every team a miniature Cup just for participating? The Bruins are so far outmatched by the top 5 or 6 teams when it comes to talent.
Proud of the boys this year. Let’s go BRUINS
Well done... 🌟
Go Bruins
The Bruins have the shallowest center depth in the league they need a real first line center. The priority should be picking up a center.
Starts at 6:10
Super jazzed for next season! I hope we get at least 1 decent top 6 center.
Deff need 2 of them and that is top priority. Even more so than moving Linus outta town
COMPLETE confidence?!!!!! Team hasn’t moved past the second round in 5 years, ONE cup in 51 seasons. Am I missing something?

Need to make some big changes, if they don't Boston will lose again in the Playoffs.. Monty better get better, one more year..
Shattenkirk-Gryz-Forbort-JVR- at the minimum need to go.
Trade Ullmark for a good piece. Pay Sway
Coyle Zacha and Beecher all above 51% at like 51.6% and 2 above 54%. In the rugular season Boston was 1 of the best teams at the dots.
They got crushed at the dot in both playoff series tho
They were 14th in the regular season for Face-off Win %. Doesn't meet the definition of "one of the best".
Wow, Sweeney with the cop out answer Sway took them to arbitration. He still dragged Sway through the dirt during that process though, what a clown.
Is there a path forward with Jake? A severe pay cut.

By all means necessary give Pat Maroon a 2 year contract finally had some physicality after he came in
How come Monty can’t win home Playoff games? 8 home losses in his 2 years as Coach. I’ll sit down and wait for my answer.

My question is, why does Boston play so much better during the regular season than they do in the playoffs???
That can be said about most teams lmao
Canes got folded in the second round
The same with the avs and Canucks
Because they're playing just the better teams at this point.
