nowadays, more tanky speedy units are there, but dps requires spd higher than 20+, it is really a good time to make one 17spd 18%hp 9%ER, 9%def/ flat HP gear, such good gear can be applied to most soul weaver and knight and Laia kinda warrior . I really don’t think 17spd dps gear more valuable these days.

I'm doing the same as you. A general speed dps helm, and speed dps ring. Same stat spread as well. I feel like it's the best pieces overall to do if you aren't making a piece for a specific unit in my opinion.
For the flat attack, last event I went with a pure dps CDR necklace with CTR ATT% SPD and flat ATT. The flat ATT is 53, not much more than the 47 you speculated, but still something.
I like to add if ever you change your mind in crafting your Epic Gear, the event will give you "free enhancements" that will allow you to enhance you Epic Gear to the level of enhancement you were before rerolling your Epic Gear. I had a +15 Epic bruiser ring ready for confirmation but changed my mind for a crit damage main stat torrent necklace with 17 speed. The event gave me enough points to +15 the new Epic Gear. REROLLING DOES CONSUME POINTS so be aware of that.
Going for Torrent set with speed and crit chance. I literally have only 2 of those pieces, both of which have low speed. It fits perfectly for my ml ludwig and I don't see myself spending this oppertunity for a speed gear piece i already have 2-3 of.
My last piece was a spd set helm with spd, atk, crit and critD While harder to get good stats on, I have a one-shot team for W13, so I get decent items now and then. My caides 13 team however takes millions of years to finish, but the clear rate is like 99%. So the new instant battles are nice for that. I have 6 pen set chests in total, 4 of them are good. The highest spd is 12 spd, but it has no crit chance and only critD, so i've thrown it on zahhak. The others are 7 spd, 4 spd and 4. So I'm thinking of making a pen set chest with 17 spd, 16 crit chance and 8 critD. And then slap it on shalltear Last time I made a spd set atk ring in the 2nd half with same stats as my helm, but this time I'll make a spd set neck with critD as mainstat, spd, crit and atk as subs. My spd necks with critD are garbo.
With all of the HP based speed users (Laia, Lethe, Shoux) I'm going for HP set with 3 rolls into speed and 2 into HP%. Will do the same for the neck but it'll be 3X speed and 2X Def%
wow i did not realise that i could only do one upgrade every day... fiogured i would bank all my coins and upgrade at end of event when new units come out and then decide what to do with what gear to make. looks this i just wasted thjis whole event and have 46k coins left over... really wish they displayed somewhere that i could only do one a day...

I have my candy at almost excellent gear except for the crit chance 3921 atk 1682 def 14167 health 72 crit% 280 crit dmg counter+pen set I'm sacrificing some atk for crit chance

I would suggest crit set (so you can help her hit 100% crit rate while getting tanky sub stats) or HP/ Defense set if you already max out on crit rate. Immunity set can be used if you have godlike gear. to give you an idea, my Candy is 3.2k atk 1.6k def, 17.8k hp, 100% crit rate, 230% crit damage, 150 spd on counter crit. Ideally, id drop a bit of crit damage for more attack.
i went with speed weapon. i think the restrictions on weapons to not have either flat nor % based defense subs makes this piece one of the hardest combos to get good value in. a lot of tanky units wants to be fast and tanky, but dont care about literally any other stats - find myself always scrambling for a weapon with good hp% and speed substats
Im thinking of building Jenua so I'm planning on investing 3 damage and 1 speed and 1 crit for both pieces? What do you think is the optimal spread for a nuker?

I think I'll go for a rage set as thats always been a place where perfect peices are hard to come by, and nothing short will do.

Imo the Flat ATK is only really worth if the character can protect themselves. Invincibility, Stealth, Immortality, DMG Limit etc

I'm doing a Pen Armor with CD, Spd, Life% and Def% to my Mellona... Hope she get more sustain in battle

No idea what im going for but im taking def pen helm and def pen ring. Having 2 really good def pen peices for a dps will be great!
We already get the pen necklace in labyrinth each month, so maybe consider crafting just one pen
i went for sword and for 2nd piece ill go for ring. Last event i did helm and neck. Set is speed since its universal so ill find a use for it.
25 speeder torrent stuff is the only answer imo, the hardest stuff to acquire for most people. Most versatile is speed set 25 speeder ofc
if only you could penta speed. but the system wont let you tag a stat more than 3x so 17 speed sub is the highest

Flat attack is better for dps, Hp% or def% makes it a more universal piece for bruisers as well

Crit chance would be nice since, it is hard get crit chance on spd dps. Ofcourse only if you are going for more of an all around dps piece
