Thanks Pastor Skip - about David's trip to Gath, I wondered why he would go to Gath. Like you said, it makes sense that would probably be the last place Saul would look for him there and he probably thought his appearance had changed enough that they wouldn't recognize him. Jesus did say to His disciples, "Be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves." Pretending to be insane was a good idea. I`m surprised none of them recognized Goliath`s sword, but maybe he hid it somewhere. Lugging around that sword certainly would have been a daily workout I'm sure:)! God bless!

This is perhaps the (one of) the most informed men I have ever learned from. Not everyone that is informed, is able to teach. Pastor Skip, is both. God bless him continously.

Pastor Skip, I noticed you contradicted yourself around 16:00 compared to another sermon when you justified someone lying to Nazis to protect the Jews that they were hiding. You also said that human need supersedes God's creed. Please clarify, is it ok or not ok to lie in order to serve greater needs?

Yes ♡ and before that the intro song was "The church of Christ, like a flower, needs each petal
Don't let your Bible gather dust
Without the Word our hearts would harden into metal
Don't let heart begin to rust:
      Take the time to read,
Jesus took the time to bleed
For our sins" what a comfort that song would bring in dark hours...

Thanks so much. Skip is the best Bible teacher I have ever come across. If he is ever in S.C. I would love to be there. I wish there was more pastors with the knowledge and the ability to help people understand what the word is really saying and the facts behind what they are reading. You have truly helped me as a Christian to feel like I know my God better and have made the word muchore alive and understandable to me.

      2 Samuel 21/7
But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of Yahweh's oath between them, between David and Jonathan, the son of Saul.
David is from house of Joseph watch out for lying pen of the scribes jer8/8
Deuteronomy 33/16...Let it come on the head of Joseph......17...these are the ten thousands of Ephraim and these are the thousands of Manasseh
1 Samuel 18/7 And the women sang as they played, and they chanted:
Saul has killed his thousands and David has killed his tens of thousands.'
1 Samuel 29/5 Is this not David, of whom they sang to each other in dances, saying:
"Saul killed his thousands and David his tens of thousands? "
I would ask you. How then, as it is written saying:
For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one having been tempted in all things in the same way as ourselves - yet was without sin.
How then can the oath to David say:
I will be a Father to him, and he will be a son to Me - whom, in his committing iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with strokes of the sons of men, but My loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.
