I was libertarian / Republican for about 20 years then I would say I was more of an independent because I found the Republicans to be too cold-hearted, and they were running up the debt crazy fast when they were in power. Finally after they were caught and voter suppression schemes too many times and and racist schemes too many times and became theocrats who were not really behaving by Christian principles I shifted to primarily Democrat. And then when they said they were going to vote down everything that President Obama proposed even if it was their idea first I decided I would never vote for the Republican party again because they were no longer suited to be representatives in a Democratic Republic. That said I'm very impressed with Sanders and Yang and would happily vote for either of them and enthusiastically vote for both of them on the same ticket. As for getting it done, Bernie would have to use FDR’s strategy of confronting congress of his party and threatening to pump up a primary challenger to get them to fall in line. I love Bernie too but he is far from right on all the issues. For instance his plan for our future electricity generation only includes things like wind and solar but leaves out nuclear which will be needed if we want the quickest way to get off of coal and natural gas power plants. The new Gen 4 reactors are created in such a way that they can not have melt downs even if the coolant runs dry. But honestly that is probably my biggest complaint with any policy he has. More important to me is that he has had the same platform for 40 years. We know he actually means what he says.

I was libertarian / Republican for about 20 years then I would say I was more of an independent because I found the Republicans to be too cold-hearted, and they were running up the debt crazy fast when they were in power.
Finally after they were caught and voter suppression schemes too many times and and racist schemes too many times and became theocrats who were not really behaving by Christian principles I shifted to primarily Democrat. And then when they said they were going to vote down everything that President Obama proposed even if it was their idea first I decided I would never vote for the Republican party again because they were no longer suited to be representatives in a Democratic Republic.
That said I'm very impressed with Sanders and Yang and would happily vote for either of them and enthusiastically vote for both of them on the same ticket.
But I'm carefully be coming over committed to one candidate emotionally because I will vote for the Democratic Party candidate regardless of who they are.
Specifically though I think that Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are too old and might not live out their term of office.
While I like Joe Biden, I believe Bernie Sanders means what he says. I believe Bernie Sanders will be true to his principles. And I believe that Bernie Sanders is the only candidate who will stand up for the bottom 98%.

For comparison, I had a little bit more money than the low end of that range when I retired at 51 and I had only worked at White Collar jobs for about 20 years after finishing College.

Unlike most democrats, Bernie is constantly talking about the issues that affect rural people, and I don’t mean the cultural distractions that republicans like to throw out there. Bernie talks about rural hospitals closing, how they pay way more for healthcare and have less access, how poverty is a huge problem in rural communities (higher rates than in the city actually), how we need universal internet access to help rural people work remotely, and how the monopolization of the agricultural industry is hurting family farms. Bernie is the candidate for rural voters!

As for getting it done, Bernie would have to use FDR’s strategy of confronting congress of his party and threatening to pump up a primary challenger to get them to fall in line. Even the most mild reforms will be opposed by the entire Republican party, rendering the point of “compromise” obsolete. Not a single one voted for the ACA.

So he says he would be "Organizer in Chief as well as Commander in Chief". If you want to see the severe limitations of compromise and bipartisanship take an honest look at Obama's Administration. He tried to cut social security in his "Grand Bargain" and the GOP still turned him down because obstruction is a proven strategy for them. The point is that we need to force them to submit and then vote them out of office and you need a mass movement of millions of people in order to do that.
A President Bernie endorsement combined with a loyal mass of active supporters should worry any incumbent to reconsider their vote if not outright get rid of them

i love Bernie Sanders he is absolutely right on all issues and actually cares about working class Americans NOT JUST CORPORATIONS!
I love Bernie too but he is far from right on all the issues. For instance his plan for our future electricity generation only includes things like wind and solar but leaves out nuclear which will be needed if we want the quickest way to get off of coal and natural gas power plants. The new Gen 4 reactors are created in such a way that they can not have melt downs even if the coolant runs dry. But honestly that is probably my biggest complaint with any policy he has.
More important to me is that he has had the same platform for 40 years. We know he actually means what he says.
