Halo Reach Cosplay | A tutorial series on how to build it

- Опубліковано 17 жов 2024
- I introduce myself and my motivation for this channel. I built what I'd call a pretty schnazzy Halo Reach costume, and now I want to share how I did that with you. I talk a little bit about who I am, but I also introduce my new ongoing UA-cam series of tutorials focused on how to build the armor I have, no experience required.
My goal with this channel is to make the cosplay tutorials I wish I had available when I was starting out, hopefully leading to you learning how to make high tier cosplays from the get-go.

It's so satisfying to see actual good Halo cosplay where the armor actually fits. Ive seen so many where the armor looks way too big for them and it looks so silly, but this looks amazing.
Thanks! Not bad for a second attempt at building a costume eh? lol
It is so hard to believe that the helmet is foam. It is so hard to make a rounded helmet with foam! Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see how this goes!!
Well, the helmet is actually a cast, but I'll be making the next one via foam and I assure you it's possible to get the same look :)... granted, I'm NOT assuring it's necessarily easy haha.
@@RandomRangerCosplay I’m gonna make this one day, it’s one of my dreams to have Noble 6 armor. If it’s real or just made out of foam I’d love it.
I'll have 3 weeks to do as much as I can between and of semester and before con. Now I'm gonna watch your tutorial and do a "to buy" list, wish me luck
Also, thank you for making it, it's gonna be my first time doing cosplay stuff and I'm super greatful for a whole tutorial
Cant wait to see it!!! Sounds like a joy ride! Also nice editing!!!
Thanks! :D
What type of foam do you recommend? I’m interested in making a Mark IV Mjölnir cosplay.
I use TNT eva-38, however one of my earlier videos was focused on how to pick foam. That may be worth a look :-)

Thank you for doing what you do you're a absolute national treasure
I'm so glad that I came across this series of videos. I subbed so fast.
:D
Started 3D printing the first Vambrace yesterday. Cant wait to get further in on this.
Awesome!
give us an update bro
@@royal_throck2983 update, most parts are done but I've not had much in the way of time to paint them.
Outsourced the helmet to a friend because I've been having print bed issues where the PLA doesn't stick.
@@dashiejinxx100 that's sick! Good to hear you stuck with it lol
@@royal_throck2983 it's often hard to find time to do work on it - weather permitting, too. Weather here in England is garbage right now and I've not long moved to a new place that's being rented, so I can't do work indoors without running the risk of ruining something
I really want one now because of you and also keep up the good work
Thanks! If you've got the time to build your own, the goal here is to make Spartan costumes more accessible :-)
Great job with the audio, and editing.
Thanks :D
Awesome !
Thanks!
Bro that armor looks sick!!! Instant sub from me.
Appreciated!
Would it be possible to recreate this for a female body type? I REALLY want a suit, but have no idea where to start and have struggled with finding female ones. So I was hoping it was possible to make this one and know if it will still look decent for a female body. ;-;
It's definitely possible! Indeed there are a few differences on the female armor, most notably on the waist armor and hand plates. I'm told the rest of the armor also has minor differences, but I've never been able to pick up on what those are. However there are a number of girls who've made the female rendition of the Reach Spartan armor, and some who are currently making one! If you're serious about building a female Spartan, I'd highly encourage you to join the 405th Cosplay Community ( 405th.com and on Discord ) as there a ton of great folks there who have done or are currently doing what you're looking for :-). If you get lost just let me know and I'll try to help out.
@@RandomRangerCosplay I see! Thank you so much for the valuable insight and the "resources" for what to do! I unfortunately don't have the means in terms of money and what not to build any armour as of yet, but I'll defo gather up some info and join the discord too! Thank you so much again! 😊

How could I adjust this for a Kat cosplay?
I dont have any materials for making anything really. No 3d printer, idk what im going to do.. no experience with resin or any of the materials used to make cosplay.. consider me a new born baby that just learned the word cosplay.. :( so far what I've been doing is buying already made helmets/masks on etsy and trying to modify them from there without messing them up.
The material/method I use is foamsmithing. All my costumes are made out of EVA foam, which I believe to be the most accessible way to build. No 3D printer needed, less messy than fiber glassing, and the introductory materials can be cheaper. If you want to start building a costume on limited resources, I'd recommend starting with some Harbo Freight floor tile foam, high temp hot glue, and a set of exacto blades (like these amzn.to/36Jusrn ). If you can also get an organic vapor respirator, and have a safe place to work I'd recommend using Barge instead of hot glue, it's muuuuuch stronger but needs some safe space and equipment to work with (like a garage and respirator).
Does this help?
really want to see what you did for the under suit
I plan to revisit the undersuit once all the armor is done :)
I want my Reach Armor as a cosplay.
Don't let your dreams be memes! You can do it :-)
I’m trying to make a halo reach armor with default armor but a eod helmet. I have barely any knowledge and no talent
That's awesome! Well helpfully my tutorials can help you out :-)
Hey buddy, idk if you'll see this ,I like the armor,I'm trying to find someone to make me a suit actually, wondering if you could help me here ,I've got a fairly big budget on it aswell
Unfortunately I don't have the capacity to do armor commissions
How long did it take to make?
This suit took me a year to make, but considering I was starting from ground zero I think it turned out.
foamsmiths...how do they work? nobody knows...
Noooobody knooows, the foamsmiths I've seen
