this is so unfair...my malenia fight - she did like 4 Waterfowl Dance during the first phase and 3 times on the 2nd phase...here, she didn't even bother....
This fight is killing it for me right now. I can get a stagger at 70% health and she immediately goes into waterfowl after. I can’t get the distance to even attempt the dodge in most attempts. She’ll do waterfowl at least twice more before second phase. I don’t remember this fight having this ridiculous of rng two years ago..
@@Generikyteasy if you're a dex build if you have 2 giant crushers in your hand not only can you not see her initiate the waterfowl dance since the weapons are so slow you don't have enough time to react to doge out the way. Her fight is one of the cheapest and worst fights in all of souls history. She reminds me of sister friede but that fight is way way better than this rng bullshit.
this is actually my favourite build against malenia, except i dont use bloodhound step which is broken, you got really lucky with those waterfowl dances, the run+jump attacks when she is idle only work inside the 15 seconds window when she is on the waterfowl dance cooldown, in second fase the only windows for attacking is the scarlet bloom and the second geyser she does after a jump delayed attack, dont attack on the first geyser because that will bait you to attacking then there is not time to avoid the second geyser... you can avoid the geiser explosion but not the sword attack that triggers it and its quite dangerous.
Exact same weapon choice here too. Only difference was I also had a seal in the secondary left hand slot to put bloodflame blade on the greatsword (and to heal scarlet rot in case I really screwed up). Getting a critical hit after landing three jump attacks has gotta be the most satisfying thing in the game!
Amazing work! I tryed her with 2 great hammers and I got so mad cuz of how slow and how little range they have...Pluss the didnt stagger her always for some reason... So I just had to summon people to help me. I gave up. I feel like a filthy casual now. Next time I will beat her alone with no summons tho! She is actually THE ONELY boss that made me give up and use summons. Also my build was wierd lol. even on 150 level and haveing 155 hours in to the game haha.
Yea I was trying with a mimic and a greatsword... the mimic is just a health pool for her after they nerfed it... gonna try dual weilding colossals and see what happens
Its been awhile since I've played so I'm sure there are other opportunities than this, but typically I remember after she does the overhead slam that creates an explosion is a safe time to heal. And obviously after the big flower attack where you need to wait for the flower to go away is a good time to heal/buff
malenia is easy if she decides not to waterfowl on you when you jump attack cancel out of a stagger
What's funny is that there's a lot of mistakes in this run. Just goes to show how you can still win if you focus and have a level head.
Also quite lucky. I mean not many Butterfly Stances happening. In my run she was spamming that shit 🥲

Stay close to her, roll around and under her trying to stay behind her. She always tries waterfowl at 70% 40% and 30% health.

What are the Talisman you used? And is there a good alternative for the ruins greatsword?
Talismans are shown at the end of the video, use any other greatsword you want. I only used ruins because I had already upgraded it

This is considered one of the best boss fights in souls games...Because you're not good enough to beat her doesn't mean she is poorly designed...
