Seeing this documentary made me really realize how far the bald eagle has come since it came out. In 1997, when this came out I think, there were only 5000 or so of them, but now they number in the hundreds of thousands. Stories like this really make me hopeful for other animals that are in danger of extinction, and maybe they can recover like the bald eagle did.
The use of DDT had really endangered the population here in North America. Thankfully they have come back since it was banned. There are quite a few of them where I live, on my neighbor's property next to mine, there is an eagles nest way up in a White Pine tree. We get to watch the pair of eagles and their eaglets for about 5 to 6 months every year.
Marty you are amazing with your film footage compilations ! You are one of the best videographers out there ! I love learning and seeing yuh stuff over the years. Very nice that you take your kids with you and teach them stuff and also handling of the small birds of prey. Loved all your PBS shows and I always look forward to relax and watch Nature's Glory filled with your expertise !! 😊🤗
A place I use to live with my family, some yrs ago in North/ Central Alberta, Canada had a pair or two of Golden Eagles nest there every yr. I had no idea until I saw one. I knew they were some kind of eagle so asked a friend who had lived there for yrs and she told me about them. They were quite the awesome sight to see. This was also the place i saw my first wild bear too. I was driving home one day and there he was crossing the road ahead of me. I almost crapped myself when i saw him suddenly. Anyway i stopped my Van until he was gone lol
I was watching a whale documentary yesterday that revealed something that gave me goosebumps. When they sped up the whale song it sounded just like a bird song! I wish I could remember which kind of whale it was but it was whichever ones that all some how learn the same song. It's quite shocking to hear!
I also had no idea that we had eagles here in Alberta but came to find out that we do from talking to other people about it. But their only in certain areas
The lizard protects its young. The monkey is a kind of animal that has no influence, but it is intelligent and intelligent, an animal that some people like and it is only if we look at it as simple.

Depending on what part of the country you’re in you’ll never see 99% of these birds.
Lol... Humans love hummers.... well some of do...
God created all creatures, nothing evolved.
I couldn't agree more. Some people just don't think.
