African American here.... I'm crying........ I can't explain how healing it has been to find African music the past year.... I'm finally hearing my blood .... My soul.... It seems like so much never made sense to us as the Diaspora, but it's like unanimous whenever I talk to African Americans about hearing African music .... We feel it so deeply, there's a knowing... It's like a sound we remember but never heard, because it was stolen from us and it was violently kept from us.... But this makes me emotional because it's like my blood inside my body knows EXACTLY what this is.... Even tho I never heard it before 😭😭😭😭😭😭
