I love these videos on O linemen. They almost never seem to get the attention they deserve for how important they are. Plus its cool to see the most important trench battles broken down
Line play is the most intricate part of football. There's so much to it, with all the proper angles you have to consider, being in sync with the rest of your line, micro techniques that being even a half inch off can make or break a play, etc... all that, and very little info available. even some of the very smartest "analysts" know shit all about line play.
I bet it’s a lot harder on the offense in any bad weather. Lineman slipping back receivers dropping balls all that. I wouldn’t know I was always a defensive lineman
The fact that Xavier Rhodes made the pro-bowl this year while Schwartz has yet to make one throughout his career shows how messed up nfl awards really are
Another great video Brett. Mitch is so criminally underated by fans and media. Even the league, I don't think they've ever selected him to a pro bowl which is crazy because he's been so good for so long. Loved all the technique breakdowns you did on this, as a former college o lineman I really enjoyed it you nailed it. I can still hear my high school positional coach yelling at me to sit in the chair lmao.
Thank you for highlighting this so few people truly talk about linemen and how impactful they are, this video taught me a lot about the trenches and much truly goes on there
Dakota Brewer I meant the analysis and the unbiased reporting. Madden doesn’t give linemen enough credit, and you’ll have a sack on a 3 man rush for no reason. ESPN doesn’t pay attention to linemen, and NFL network just says “yeah he’s a good lineman” and that’s about it. You have to go to major lengths to find good content on offensive linemen for the most part. Sometimes they’ll highlight a player who played well tho I’ll give them that
Dávid Lövei I’m talking about his whole career. I’ve heard so many, “Holding #72” ever since 2016. He has cost the Bears games ever since he was starting. I remember he cost the Bears a game where they could’ve won with a FG, but lost as they got out of FG range due to a holding penalty by none other than #72.
