If he lands certain attacks on enemies, the meter goes up, and if enemies hit him while in a special stance called 'Give it to me here!', he gains excitement from each hit. His excitement meter has 10 ticks and 3 levels (0-2, 3-5, 6-10). More excitement means greater damage, more combo routes, and additional benefits. He used to be so strong at zero excitement that players wouldn't bother catering their gameplan around it, but now he's received key changes that effectively force you to utilise and plan around his excitement, which has made him much more interesting to play as a result.
