This move literally lets snake play his own game. When you fight snake, you literally need to know how to beat his grenades first, that's the whole Match up
Snake Dtilt is legit longer than some swordie Dtilts. Sleeper busted move. But yeah its obviously either Nade or Uptilt. Shoutout to Hurt for almost beating Miya without using Nade lol
He's beaten miya before without grenades actually. If I'm not wrong it was their first set against each other ever, it was in losers finals at delta 5. Hurt used grenades in the first game I believe, and that man is an adaption god. Anything you throw at him he will adapt and read
Nikita, dthrow, and usmash (especially before the nerf) are also crazy good
Calling fsmash a contender for best is such a bold claim, but I respect it... even though I strongly disagree.
I can see why he said that (it's a two frame tool and it hits hard, this is what you want from fsmash), but having characters like minmin or little mac.... yeah
Yeah, imo it’s the second worst Fsmash on the game
The only time I use f-smash is for 2-framing or for roll reads. And even then d-smash is probably the better and safer option in most cases
@@Tactix_se Not only is Dsmash always better, but snake isn’t very good at 2 framing and would rather ledge trap with mortar
It is mainly for 2 framing but the advantage is it kills early

There's no Snake game without granades
In some matchups he can't, like with game & watch. Watch Miya vs Hurt grand finals, Hurt pulls a grenade like once and Miya buckets it. He was like FORCED to not use it.
But yeah in probably any other matchup you're gonna see lots of grenades.
While mostly true, snake is an uncharacteristically good boxer. Hurt has proven that. Even without nades he’d still probably be high tier lol
I love how his second reason for the move being busted was just “it’s grenades lol”
Fsmash being a contender for Snake's best move is kinda nuts
Next character is Ike. This is kind of hard, because it used to be CLEARLY nair, but after a patch that nerfed nair, but buffes Ike's other attributes, the decision might still be hard. I might say Up Air because Ike can combo into it, and it has devastating kill power. It's not a bad combo tool at early percent either. It might still be Nair despite the nerfs though. I'm not sure.

I’d say nair bc it’s a lot better in neutral then up air and is overall more impactful, but I’d respect it if Rister chose Up Air
From a snake main: My character has like 10 moves that from the outside appear to be his best, he’s stupid and it’s no shock he’s considered a top 5 character in the game. However, I think it’s possible to narrow it down.
To get this out of the way: No, it’s not up-tilt, not by a country mile, yes it’s a stupid move but snake has 2000 other kill options, having one very strong one does not make it his best move.
You could argue grenade is his best move, because it’s essentially “player 3” similar to ROB’s gyro in that it literally plays neutral for you. It also combo’s, gets you OUT of combos, and b-reversing them can make his movement very unpredictable which helps him recover. Lest we forget it’s a frame one (1) move. Snake is widely considered to have the best neutral in the game because of grenade and *c4.*
Which is why you could also make the argument that c4 is his best move. It’s not even the explosion itself that makes c4 so strong, it’s the _threat_ of the explosion. It essentially allows him to block off most of the stage for the opponent and forces them into positions and situations of your choosing, which further feeds into his gameplan. It can also be used as a recovery tool… So, there’s that.
The last move I would say makes sense as his “best” would be down throw. It’s, in my opinion, one of the strongest moves in the game because it allows you to capitalize off of panic situations since it cannot be teched, and straight up becomes a kill confirm as early as 125% on some characters. It’s up to you if you want to count a throw as a move.
Also, nikita is not his best move. Yes it’s a free edgeguard, however most (but not all) characters have the tools to deal with or outmaneuver it. And, in the right circumstances, it can be a very punishable move. It’s still a really good move, just not close to grenades or c4.
Some other moves that deserve shoutouts are down-tilt, a great poke tool that also low-profiles, dash attack, a very SAFE burst option that sends at a sheisty angle, back-air, a move that lingers longer than the Roman Empire and has the kill power of a freight train, and down-air, a frame 3 (6) OoS option that does 20% and has considerable knockback.
Don’t forget about down throw… conforms into ftilt at ~130% and up tilt at ~160%

Next is ike and his best move has to go to what made him a former high tier in ultimate’s earlier years, Neutral Air.
Yeah I understand the placement for nades. Next is Ike and this one is easy and it’s Nair. Every Ike loves this move
Next up is Ike and I think it’s Nair, it a wide move, can set up for combos, very spammable, strong, and it’s an important move overall. But I could be wrong, as I am human, and would like to hear others opinion

His up tilt is probably his most broken move, but his grenades are more useful
Up tilt is good but it is not comparable to grenade, C4 or even down tilt

@@cheeze1t256 Yes they are LOL up tilt is a move you use for killing and anti-airs, while C4 and dtilt define Snake's neutral along with grenade and dash attack. It really isn't close, just tell me you don't play the character

Up tilt is a crazy dis joint and a consistent way of getting kills, d tilt doesn't kill, can barely combo, and isn't that disjointed. C4 is amazing when you place it on someone but other than that it good for stage pressure. If you are fighting snake and play well, you won't get hit with c4

Funnily enough, Snake could just blow himself up to recover without using up b, so that argument is not as valid in this case.
@@cullenhutchison6528 It’s useful after he uses up b because of he just blows himself up he takes a lot of damage and knock back and you are more likely to be at a high percent offstage and then you might kill yourself
No. His recovery is extremely exploitable. It’s one of the reasons his disadvantage is extremely bad, along with his awful air drift
For ike is neutral air, the fact that they nerfed it and it's still ike's best move shows you how good the move is

It’s a good move but def not a shoutout in this I’d put down tilt or Nikita in it
F smash is good, definitely one of his moves that gets underestimated the most. The startup may be slow, but the hitbox is big, can eat/break shield with correct setup and kills suuuuper early
One's snake charges it, do not approach like literally, you'll die.
Honestly though neutral b is kind of annoying to use because you can’t detonate it when you want it will just explode after seconds of being out and if it hits someone it still won’t explode on impact it will just bounce off. I’d give it to dash attack honestly because of its power and easy spacing utility
If you play Snake, you know how pivotal grenade is. It's such a good space control tool. Combine that with it also being an amazing ledge trap tool and an insane combo breaker, and it's quite easily number one. I honestly wouldn't even put dash attack in top 3.
Using Grenade indeed can be annoying to use, but you NEED to get good at using grenades to know how to use Snake well. Like there are so many times where I try to play Snake, and I am like "This shouldn't be too hard. He has many broken moves I can just spam!", but then I get destroyed because I don't know how to use Grenades well, which are essential to make Snake's broken moves work at their fullest.
Nade singlehandedly forces the entire cast to know how to play around it. What do you have to smoke in order to think it was dash attack?
And where can I get some?
Most controllable detonation specials require you to commit to an animation or can't be used for frame traps as flexibly, so once you get a feel for the timing, it becomes more advantageous since you have more freedom with it, and allows you to do things like force shielding to get free grabs, ledge traps, etc. Aside from knowing the timing which is 2.7 seconds iirc, there's a lot of timing tricks (like how short toss blows up nearly after hitting the ground, neutral toss usually blows up when you gain enough ground to be about a character's distance away from it, etc.
Dash attack is hella punishable and exploitable, doesn’t lead to anything true unless a grenade is in play, and doesn’t give Snake anything noteworthy aside from a good burst option (which is good but come on. His best move?), which unless you play a lot of really laggy Quickplay, you should be able to play around. Part of learning Snake is how to play around grenades. He’s not a typical zoner like Samus so grenades aren’t meant to wall people out. They control space so you have to respect them
F smash is not good. It’s super slow, and you have to get a super hard read to hit it. It’s like falcon punch. It looks good until you actually use it.
I feel like you should explain why the best moves are the best moves on each pokemon
