At 2:00 on the very left is me as Mega Mawile with my friends as Klara from Pokemon and Glep from Smiling Friends...I had no idea someone was capturing video lmao. The con was really good this year!
At 2:23 is the lovely idol group i am apart of with all the besties!!:3 we are called startburst idols 😌 (yall should totally check us out and the other performers aka our other besties!!)
This was my friends and I first time attending Matsuricon, we all had an amazing time, the convention space was super nice, there was plenty of events and activities to keep us all overwhelmed the whole week, I took tons of pictures and videos, and overall we would love to come back next year! It was also awesome to finally bump into you and say hi after all these years of watching your vids!
it really felt a little dead this year to be honest, just felt like less people and less things going on. usually i'd walk down the halls, especially on saturdays, and it'd be well packed but not overly, this year it was pretty fair. then when going into event rooms, or panels, everything just seemed dead as if there was no mention of these event or that people just didn't want to attend which made certain things a little awkward. not sure what happened compared to say last year, but this year just felt, off..
I think you're correct in a way, but it depends on which events and panels you're referring to. I agree that some parts of the con were fairly empty, though. I had hosted 3 panels on Saturday, and 2 were dead. I think it was mainly because one was at 8:30am (before registration even opened) and the other was at 10:15am (the room location was incorrect on the schedule). My third panel was around 1pm, and we had a decent turnout despite a good chunk of the audience not staying for the entire panel. I could tell many of the voice actor and guest panels were VERY popular. I heard that Dragoncon was also the same weekend, so it makes me wonder if many of Matsuricon's typical attendees were there instead.
@@PopCultureChoreo i agree, i think DragonCon has a part to play. just comparing how things were last year to this year. for instance, i walked around with 16ft wings in my Sinner Adam cosplay on saturday with almost no issues while last year, i struggled walking thru crowds in my Iron Man cosplay. especially after about 6pm on saturday, was way deader than i have ever seen in the past especially on a saturday afternoon/evening. the whole cosplay contest thing was a big bummer for me because that's what i always go for and i couldn't even go in because they only allowed so many people in which is understandable, just sucked with how they handled it, because last year they let us stand against the wall if the seats were filled
@@MythicalBuilds Oh wow, did they run out of space at the cosplay contest? I’m sorry you didn’t get to watch! I actually applied to be in the skit portion of the contest as soon as applications opened over the summer, and I didn’t even make the waitlist. It seems like the demand is almost too much for the con; I really hope they allow more than 12 skits next year!
@@PopCultureChoreo yea i tried to enter the craftsmanship side of the competition but was too late, literaly tried the day after opening lol. but idk if it was too packed or not, i do know that at one point while the skits were going, i saw at least 2 empty rows of seats inside and they weren't letting anyone else in so i'm not sure what happened
You guys were my favorite skit! I think I have most of it but for sure I don't have all of it unfortunately. If you still want what I do have though you can message me on IG and I can send you it there. My IG is @wanderpamore
I completely agree with all you have said both pros and cons. I haven’t attended before until this year. I agree the night market should be something different. I think the artist/dealer area could have used the space more. The staff was amazing, but I could tell there was some communication issues like you said. A security event happened in an area we were in due to another person throwing a beer can. It was told to staff, but even they didn’t seem to know who to talk to higher up. Overall, it was a fun con! I was hoping for that overworld( or whatever it was called) event would happen again, but it didn’t! I will totally be back! I felt like there could have been more to do panel wise and such, but that’s my opinion! It was great to meet you right before the masquerade! Hope you enjoyed the ribbons!
I always look forward to your matsuricon reviews!! I saw you last year but was to nervous to say hi lol but unfortunately didn't see u around this year edit: I totally agree with you about the dealers room. I thought it seemed smaller/less vendors. while I loved all the open space because some cons I go to their dealer room is SO packed with stuff u can barely walk, I just feel like there definitely could've been more at matsuricon this year while still having quite a bit of open space!
Thank you so much for watching! Haha you should always say hi if you see someone you watch, you never know if you will get the chance again! Hopefully next time! Been thinking of ordering ribbons to give out to people who say hi as well!
@@ConventionReviews Totally agree! I want to kick myself everytime when im nervous because I definitely always regret it. 😂 You totally should! I haven't participated in the Ribbon collecting at this con but maybe I'll start next year lol
"i'd like to see more anime and nerd remixes being played". Meanwhile me, the 3rd DJ on Saturday, played literally nothing but remixes of nerd/k-pop/j-pop/videogame for and hour and a half. Wish you were there 😢
Ah i didn't go this year but my friends did, needed to save money. But like it was super fun last year 💗 Also it was nice to see you reviewing Matsuri con 🥰
Oh hey!!!! I’m the MC of that anime openings panel you showed a quick snippet of!! I hope you had a good time and I love this review - so clear and concise. Have to agree with the criticism of organization this year, hopefully it was just a fluke, the staff are usually super on point!
Sounds like they need to do what Ramencon does, have a swap meet. A day set aside for attendees to buy, sell, and swap what they bring themselves. Ramencon has been doing it since year one and it's always worked so well. I always make bank selling at my table on Sunday. Enough to cover my entire weekend and some extra.
I want to know how I missed you guys. LOL I feel like sometimes I just have a *Cody* sense, like huh... I feel like Cody is somewhere... Look up, there you all are. And unless you all stopped to spin the wheel in like the 10 minutes total I wasn't there, you all didn't try to win at all. :)
Oh hey, that's me at 8:23 ❤ Thanks for coming out as always Cody. We'll definitely take the things you mentioned into account for 2025 rave planning.
I’m the Nico for the group at 2:24 !
This was really fun to see
i'm the pink haired girl at 1:02 on the stairs! this makes me happy that i lowkey made it in the vlog because that was my birthday that day!!
Woah!! Happy Birthday!

That’s me and my friends gaming as peach, bowsette and daisy! Then in the rave- Pinkamena, rainbow dash and peach !
Sorry for snip filming you guys, but it looked like a good shot hahaha
