Dear Kumar, I am delighted to call you a true fellow Malaysian who always promoting our nation by having your American wife to know more about our country. Keep up the wonderful effort of spreading awareness of our nation around the world.
Jering (Archidendron pauciflorum, commonly known as djenkol, jengkol or jering is a species of flowering tree in the pea family) - you suppose to eat small bite of that jering with sambal belacan and rice + others malaysia curry.. it will give you that mild bitter taste and its actually good for blood circulation and kidneys.. its basically a herbal medicine same as petai bitter tasting cooked with sambal...
Back in 2009 I was 14 years old and it was my first time going to Europe. The second country I got to go to in Europe with Spain. While in Barcelona Spain, we went and visited an outdoor market and it was a cultural shock for me just to see meat hanging from the ceilings, legs of sheep, and seeing the internal organs laying out on ice. It is something that I will never forget.
Kuih Chempedak: squeeze out the seed out , which make it hot. Eat the crispy flesh , then dip the seed in chendol or soya or warm tea... Or wanna taste spicy, dip in chilly source Walla... licking feeling food..
I love it when Rachel said this is the best satay in Malaysia and Kumaar just went " you need to go to Kajang" HAHAHAHAH. Okay try Satay Sri Melaka in Setiawangsa pls. THE BEST ONE I EVER HAD.
unik video.. biasa orang akan beli banyak then balik rumah makan n review. tapi u olls terus makan lepas beli. baru rasa fresh. and dapat review jujur. terbaik kumaar n wife
Dude. That jering is the mother of petai. If you can’t stand petai, stay clear of jering. The black seedy looking thing beside the jering is ‘kerdas’. A more potent version of jering. Not many people eat petai raw let alone jering. It tastes much better when cooked and eaten with rice. A great video nevertheless. I followed you since your durian videos in US. That was amazing as well. Keep up the good work!
Cool, Rachel eating Jering. Jering is like Petai. An Ulam. We used to have a tree in the back of our house behind The Klang Hokkien Association building. House is still there. My late Grandfather's favourite Ulam. He eats it with Sambal belachan on hot rice...
Kumaar family, you are the best!! I enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Zayden and Kyren are adorable. Such a lovely family. I wanna say thank you so much for sharing your life and vlogging on Malaysian food... So sedappp(so delicious) God bless you and your family. Looking forward for a part 2. Congratulations on 600,000 subscribers and I hope for more viewers to subscribe to your channel. Such a wonderful and loving family❤🎉🎉🎉😊
The ulam Jering best boiled till soft, one seed cut into 3, deep fry it, taste like potato. The cooked version you can enjoyed at Kg Baru nasi campur shop especially the nasi padang shop. It is pedas giler. Fried with ikan bilis and chili sambal
jering, we used to eat it when we stayed in the more kampung areas. supposedly good for diabetes. its like petai, u would not normally eat it raw just like that. taste horrible but i know of ppl esting it raw just like eating raw garlic
You are smart to visit the famous night market in the evening time. After 8pm onwards…. The street will be crowded. I am surprising to see both of you can eat many rounds. Both of you are the champions of eater comparing to other foreign UA-camr 😆
Jering is commonly served as a side dish (ulam) in Malay dishes. In Indonesia it's called jengkol. Its smell doesn't strong like petai. Recently saw Meylin Swiss treating her husband & friend to eat jering.😊
FYI, you can now get frozen cempedak in Asian market in the Sacramento area, California, albeit opened half. So, when you are back here you may want to try purchasing and frying it. You guys are living the best of both worlds.
Pls dont recommend setia alam pasar malam. Dirty and smelly. I hate that place especially morning after the pasar malam. Feel like Im somewhere in filthy place
Cempedak seed actually if cook throughly can be eaten…it taste similar to a nut…nowdays people doesnt really eat it…try it,it taste really good. You can eat it either boil or fry.
Sate ikan or called as locking in Malay. Usually popular at Southern Thai and East Coast of Malaysia. Because lolcing derived from the Thai word luk chin meaning meat balls. 😊
Also known as Jengkol in the indonesian or Javanese language... it is possible to over eat jering or jengkol that there is a disease onown ad Jengkolisme... 😅😅😅 I kid you not.. its that powderful... google it...
In my place Jering most consumed as a savoury snack instead of as "Ulam" by boiling it mixing together about 12 pieces of ingredient until tender enough before served either eaten straight away or dip with any flavour you like or crushed as a patty snack
Our house across the nearby tmn DU still under renovation.. can't wait to enjoy the pasar malam at TTDI ..speaking of which one of pricey pasar malam in Msia I reckon
kalau di pantai timur, jering tu rebus bagi mask betul biasanya 7 kali dan di makan bersama kelapa +garam + gula. Bg Rachel makan mcm tu ramai yg tak makan....try jering rebus...
jering tu dia macam rasa petai tapi lagi complex la to me plus mild bitter taste.. texture dia kalau dah masak/goreng almost tu potato but more chewy macam gula2 chewy & selalu di masak sambal biasa, belacan or rendang utk kurang & balance kan rasa tengik dia tu haha jering is famous among the javanese descent people usually
...boss for satey u should try satey baung @ bandar saujana putra...its super duper good...before satey kajang was phenomenal ......kemudian..willy satey... but now...satey baung is the best....perlu cuba!!
We always eat jering muda with rice as Ulam. Taste so good BUT the effect afterward is like when you'd petai! haha. The smell is mindblowing! hahahaha. In kelantan, we do boil the jering muda, and have it with kelapa muda mixed with a lil bit of sugar! We usually have it as breakfast! Taste like heaven!!
0:10 Once I was eating breakfast in the heart of KL city centre, and I could see at the opposite side of the road, a cow carcass was being chopped up and sold to passerbys by its parts. You can’t get any fresher meat than that. PS. As the butcher is cutting up the meat, there is another live cow looking on….
Jering sometimes it called in English is blackbead or dog fruit....kalo yg jering tua keras nak gigit...gigi boleh tercabut 😂 ..yg muda ok...tapi i suka mkn jering rebus, makan dengan kelapa parut kukus letak garam sikit ....fuh power!!
there's a very good satay at Tmn. Chi Liung roundabout, the satay stall opens from 5pm to 9pm. It's a bit expensive at RM1.70 a stick but the meat on it is huge. It's called jumbo satay!
Aduhai Logesh...kesian Rachel... Cara makan Jering seperti makan petai, Jika makan mentah kena cicah sambal mentah spt smbal belacan & boleh juga dimasak sambal atau gulai... 😊
Those animal carcasses are the way the butcher shop should be. So that you can try so many cuts and know where the cuts came from. There are so many cuts that have so many exciting flavors and textures.
I didn't know we could eat baby shark? 🤔😅 And yeah, that type of satay is a childhood snack... 😊 I LOVE cempedak goreng... ❤️ Abang, selalunya jering, orang tua2 suka makan sebab katanya macam penawar sakit (tak ingat sakit apa). Dia memang makan macam ulam dengan nasi. Tapi lepas makan, nanti bau kencing akan bau juga. Sama macam makan durian.
Dear Kumar, I am delighted to call you a true fellow Malaysian who always promoting our nation by having your American wife to know more about our country. Keep up the wonderful effort of spreading awareness of our nation around the world.
10 minutes? 😢😢. It's not enough...I luv u guys

Murunggai leaves tablet is good... also added in india curry...

" Are you OK,baby,"(6:20) o that's so sweet of you,Logesh.
Jering biasa rebus dulu bg lembut.. then br dimasak sambal atau lemak... Kalo mkn raw pn boleh tp pahit dr petai.. Org tua2 bleh la mkn.. 😅
You are smart to visit the famous night market in the evening time.
After 8pm onwards….
The street will be crowded.
I am surprising to see both of you can eat many rounds.
Both of you are the champions of eater comparing to other foreign UA-camr 😆
Jering Balado is very nice and delicious. It's same group of species like the Petai. Just don't over eat it, may cause problem to pee. 😅
Jering is commonly served as a side dish (ulam) in Malay dishes. In Indonesia it's called jengkol. Its smell doesn't strong like petai. Recently saw Meylin Swiss treating her husband & friend to eat jering.😊

Sate ikan or called as locking in Malay. Usually popular at Southern Thai and East Coast of Malaysia. Because lolcing derived from the Thai word luk chin meaning meat balls. 😊
For jering i recomended you to eat it with sambal.. like tempoyak sambal. or you can make it sambal jering
People say tuna is the chicken of the sea but to me its the baby shark
I absolutely love it
On Saturday, go to Setia Alam Klang side Pasar Malam... also plenty of food chinese style.
Jering is a super powerful petai... hahaha.. not a petai... but a few times more powderful...
