  • We set sail from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa with GRIMALDI LINES at 13:00 - 23:00 a 9hr crossing. Unfortunately this isn't my first time sailing with Grimaldi lines but it will probably be my last. The facilities, food & service on the ship were not good. Some staff members were very helpful & polite but the kitchen & bar staff were board line rude. The food was inedible and the sleeping areas were loud and bright.
Summary, if you plan to make this trip id highly recommend choosing a different line to travel with.
WATCH PART 2 to see our cabin & overnight experience!

It's an international route, but in Schengen area, so they won't check any passports.

Hi! Thanks for the video. I am afraid of travel sickness. I have to take this specific ferry unfortunately. Does this ship "move" a lot? Thanks

We disembarked in stormy conditions and the ferry was very stable throughout the journey 🙂👍🏻

hi! thanks for the video. one question, that "main sleeping area" is for everybody? Or you have to pay a different price?

That is the basic allocated sleeping area for everyone on board. It comes with free with your ticket.
Ps you won’t get any sleep in there lol. It’s loud, bright & uncomfortable 🤦🏼‍♂️👎🏻

@@SBLandSea-xl6ji Lmao, thanks for the answer. I'm still planning on using this ferry to travel so I hope I can rest a little bit at least. Also, do you recommend going from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa or Vlore?

I was thinking to take this ferry on the way from Bulgaria to Spain, traveling with a pet, but looks like I better drive North through Romania, Hungary Croatia (the pain is I need to avoid Serbia, and lot's of issues for the pet that come with it). Thanks for this video!

Travelling tomorrow on the overnight one, is it dirty and can you stay in your car? 😫

Is it better to embark with your car first so you leave first ? Or does not really matter ?

No, funny enough if you embark last you disembark first. So last on means first off 🙂👍🏻

I miss the times when Grimaldi used Minoan boats for the journies from italy to greece

@@alexwm369 I did Brindisi to Igoumenitsa last week and the Minoan ship is from 2001 and you can tell. The Pullman seat area was neglected. The disco was closed. Don't buy food in advance, wait to see in person what looks fresh. It wasn't a terrible experience but it was a step down from the newer ferries I've been on. But 10x better than some of the ferries I've been on in other areas of the world.
The public shower was disgusting, I wanted to puke from the smell. The damage from neglect has been ongoing for so long they probably need to rebuild that entire shower room for it to not smell so terrible from all the mold growing in there.
Curious what the cabins are like as I imagine they prioritize a better experience for people paying more money.
