Ah the easiest of all the scuba diving list videos 5 Of The Best Places To Scuba Dive. I know a lot of you didn’t want this but to be fair, a lot more voted for it so we’re making our own! Scuba diving is such a varied sport and all you really need is deep(ish) water. You can scuba dive all over the planet from the poles to the equator any time of the year, unlike lame sports like snowboarding or tennis. Can you snowboard in the Caribbean? Or play tennis in Norway? Ok, you can probably play tennis somewhere in Norway but you get my point…
Scuba diving is also varied, one dive you’re poking around a colourful reef looking at tiny shrimp, the next you’re exploring a sunken shipwreck and then a whale shark cruises past there’s a dive for everybody so I’m going to split this into categories instead of just five great places to dive.

Southeastern Asia has definitely the best dive sites of where I have been, like Phillipines, Malaysia, Indonesia
North Carolina wreck diving (out of Wilmington, Morehead, and the Outer Banks) is some of the best advanced wreck diving in North America.
Got my PADI cert because a friend convinced me how fun diving around the Big Island (Hawaii) is after we moved here last year. Very grateful he pushed me to do it as the dive sites are endless here!
Coming to Hawaii in late December. Where would you recommend?
Nik Turk depends on whether you're shore diving or going with a charter. All the best dive spots are on the west side, between Captain Cook and Kohala.
@@joshualong7517 Cheers. Haven't got very far in my planning yet But will look at the 2 places you named.
Nik Turk here's a great list of spots with useful directions for each www.bigislandmagazine.com/diving.html
@@joshualong7517 Thanks for the help. Is my 1st time in Hawaii ever. Coming with a group of friends for New Year. They are not divers so will be heading off by myself while they look after their children.
Raja Ampat... Up there with sipidan and the Maldives
Load of kidnappings in Sipadan though
The Philippines have high quality divesites and stunning variety among them
Yup tubbataha is kne of the best in the world. Red sea (for us europeans) though very close affordable and also really great!!
Not anymore ;(
not sure but fish bombing among threat in these area
Maldives for sure... I did over 45 dives there and it was simply stunning... lots of fish and coral diversity...
try Egypt red sea
Molokini Crater in Hawaii is absolutely breathtaking
Local favorite dive Isla Coiba, Panamá
You get to see all types of marine life from corals, school of fish, yellow fin tunas, white tip reef shark, bull shark, hammer shark, whale shark 😍😍😍, mantas (I haven’t seen them yet), octopus, horse sea, etc... whatever you want you find it there
Diving wishlist
Galapagos, Ecuador
Cocos Island, Costa Rica
Isla Socorro, Mexico
Philippine
definitly Komodo (DM course there) and Raja Ampat (although had bad weather)
The Atlantic coast of Florida. I live about an hour away from it which makes it nice. Also the cave systems and springs in Northern Florida.
I'm off to the Maldives in February 2020 for 2 weeks. I cannot wait!!!
Argeles sur mer in France. Nearby just pick any old sand quarry or lake. Just beware of the low visibility here, although some sand quarry's do have that deep blue water and have visibility for miles (ok not miles but almost always above 25m).
We live in the high desert so we love diving the lakes in Santa Rosa New Mexico. Blue Hole is amazing!
Started diving in the Maldives 5 years ago, love it 😊. Have had one dive in the UK on the clan macvey in Weymouth UK, chilly but interesting dive, chalk and cheese in difference 👍
Customer to divemaster: Where’s the best place to SCUBA round here?
Divemaster: In the sea, sir!
Yeah we can play tennis in Norway! But diving is better haha
Im going to the red sea with bsac for my ocean diver qual next week!I cant wait, been saving for 3 years lol
Local diving is of course, quarries but I have been off the West coast and East coast of the USA. I enjoyed both. I really enjoyed my dives in Maine. I know some say there is nothing good to see there but have enjoyed it.
Cuba was pretty special for my first intro into Scuba about ten years ago. Mexico to but the dive co was more money orientated than caring about the divers experience. Just back from Paphos and had 5 dives with an unbelievably caring UK dive centre. They gave me back the urge to go for a coarse back home.
Safe diving folks. 👌
Little Corn, Nicaragua. It's super remote and low key but has the best wildlife and reefs.
I live on the East coast of South Africa it offers great diving form Sodwana Bay to Aliwal shoal and the Protea banks. We have just come back from a live aboard on the Red Sea and I would rate Sodwana as good as the Red Sea. Check it out.
Agree. With Ponta do Oura in Mozambique just around the corner too.
I'm in Seattle, WA and our local dive shops have many local recreational dive options to keep us in the water and keeping us in practice, not to mention advanced courses!
Red sea!
Florida Keys are great, especially since I can drive there for a weekend of diving.
The sardine run or as the BBC calls it the greatest shoal on earth, is off our coast and is on my must dive list. Hopefully I'll be hitting Aliwal Shoal this next weekend though.
Near me? I have the Gulf, which ranges from great to ok. I have South Florida which has a ton of wrecks and it is easy to organize tech dives. A little further I have the Keys which has some fairly decent coral reefs. And up north I have Cave Country.
So I don't have any good diving.
I actually like going to Cozumel and Tulum. Cozumel is pretty cheap, and the reefs are still pretty good. And Tulum's caves have little flow and are wide open and shallow so they make for some interesting dives without racking up deco obligations.
In the German Town Duisburg, we have the so called "Gasometer". It's a big tank in the middle of an industrial ruine turned into a park! Europe's biggest indoor divecenter btw. 13m deep, 45m wide with aircrafts, cars and many more to explore. I'm diving there minimum once a month, it's my "practice pool" :D
Ümit E. Nice thanks a lot, im new to diving and from Cologne. Do you have to have a certain amount of dives to dive there? I’m from cologne and as far as I know we just have the Fühlinger See and I need 20 dives to dive there
@@diveinstructordaniel1095 Hey Dany, absolutely not. You need a OWD and a buddy. If don't have the OWD, you can book some other packages which are more expensive. Check this out: Tauchrevier-Gasometer.de
You guys should also check out Dive4Life in Siegburg. At 20 m deep, I think it's the deepest in Germany. It's about 55 € for 4 hour ticket and complete gear rental. You also only need OWD and dive buddy. I live in Bergisch Gladbach and go there whenever I can find a buddy that's free on Mondays cause it's my only day off. You can do as many dives as you want in the 4 hours. Just come up get a new full tank and go back down.
Good video Mark. I dare you to scuba dive just off the Catalina islands during sea lion mating season. Aquarena springs is a great place to dive in San Marcos, Texas. The water comes from Edwards aquifer and is the clearest water I've been in. Plus, just two miles away is a Whataburger restaurant.
I don't get to dive abroad a lot for various reasons, but I have a favorite dive spot right here at home in Spartanburg SC, USA. It's a lake " Lake Jocassee". The lake is around 300 ft. deep in some parts, and 75 miles of shoreline. In this lake there there is a sunken village with cemetery and a standing forest. in other parts of the lake you can find some man-made scenery such as boats, motorcycles, phone booths, buses, the list goes on. I have dove this lake many times and always find something new. VIS. most of the time is 20-30ft. So whenever I am unable to head out to Fla, or somewhere else I go to this lake.
The beldert above Nijmegen in the Nederland. La combe the steengroeven in belgum. Todi is fun to dive to but nemo33 is a objectieve dive were you can only go the 33meter but if its your first deep dive its perfect because you don't have to worry about the current or boats so it's good for beginners.
As a noob diver, went diving to Silfra on March, rushed a dry-suit certification and got there... Cold is a lie once you are inside the dry-suit. Totally recommended, besides the visibility is awesome!
I'll guess the flying dogs should be in the pending destination list.
I like diving at capernwray what's in the uk it's a quarry made for scuba divers, snorkeling and to swim but its bizarre how people swim in just shorts or a bikini in the autumn, winter times as it's pretty freezing even with a drysuit on I can feel the cold so I have respect for them just in shorts or a bikini but it has pretty cool things in the shallows and depths what have been put in for all to see from planes, helicopters, boats, a man made cave made from a cargo crate even to a UFO.
It's a lot more nice in March onwards as its abit more warmer but in October to middle of February its absolutely freezing but overall it's a pretty awesome place to go.
Malapascua in the Philippines
I live in Durban, South Africa. So we have some great reefs and wrecks ourselves and Aliwal Shoal is 40 minutes away, Protea Banks 2 hours away if I want to see sharks and Sodwana Bay is 5 hours away for those weekend trips.
Coffs harbour Australia, solitary islands.
Channel Islands off the coast of Southern California. Great diversity and awesome kelp. Plus sea lions!
Dahab,sinai pininsula egypt
South Florida has a lot of great spots !!
Catalina Island in Southern California will always have my heart
Sodwana Bay South Africa is like the best place ever! The best and prettiest Coral Reef and fish and the warmest water ever!
The Gili islands off the coast of Lombok. Just breath taking
luke towler Great to hear! I want to dive Indonesia but so many island s to choose from
Just back from some amazing dives at Komodo. My top 3 sites here would be.. 1. Mawan, 2. Cauldron, 3. Castle Rock.
Akshay Wadke 1. Mawan 2. Batu Bolong 3. Manta point would be my pics. Once you’ve been the cauldron a few times the novelty wears off
@@solo-xbt True, we dived there twice, was much more fun when there was a lot of current post the shotgun...
Cozumel, mexico
Rottnest Island, Western Australia . Little nudis to big sharks, and whales if you’re really lucky, everything in between. 15 - 30m+ vis depending on the day.
Boston harbor has a hand full of nice dives
Best diving was Moalboal last November. Deep dives, large sea turtles and Sardine balls.
hey whats wrong with tennis? actually my dive gear fits into my tennis bag so i can do both things during holidays, it is a perfect combination
I live on the Caribbean, Antigua. Some by best dives have been on st kitts and Saba
Juan Fernandez Archipielago off the Chilean Coast. Hard to get there, but amazing visibility and scores of endemic sea life
Raja Ampat, West Papua, Indonesia
Shark dive in The Bahamas at Shark Alley and Tiger Beach is top!
Curaçao, it’s my home island and awesome scuba diving!
Great video as always, thank you.
No thank you!
Sydney. We probably have the best shore diving in the world for a major city. Can reach depths of 20m. And have an abundance of macro life. Literally 10mins from the city centre!!!
I like diving the Red Sea, Sharm El Shak.
The SS Yongala, one of the best dives in the world without doubt
Flying there today, diving tomorrow and Monday :)
i havent gone.... YET but socorros is high on my divelist

I loved the reck diving in truuk and I'm lucky enough to live in SW Florida I two coast plus the Florida keys
Malapascu-ba 😁 come for the Thresher but leave remembering Gato 😜😜
Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands... The Grotto is a great dive!
Pro tip: Build up your leg muscles and endurance beforehand... lots of stairs to climb down, then up-WITH your gear on! Squats, lunges, deadlifts, and wall squats will do the trick. 😁
i love the great lakes here in the USA especially LAKE ERIE its only 45 min away
Red Sea
try the Netherlands. hundreds of dive sites from the ocean to the small lakes
That's intriguing! What would you recommend, where does one start?
Not just deepish water but also deepish pockets 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I live on the Jurassic coast in the uk so there are loads of great dives 👍👍👍
Similan islands, Sipadan
Bermuda baby!! lots of wrecks!!! clean reefs!!
I have been to the luxury diving in the Maldives but I regret it and I wish I had never gone.
Love to dive in Palau. Locally, I have The Channel Islands and Monterey for cold water
My best dive sites, I've dived as been Balicagas island in the Philippines and the Poor Knight Islands in nz all got great visablity and alot of marine life. They are both marine reserves as well
Did you mean to say Balicasag Island off Panglao ? I made a couple of dives there last month. It was fantastic seeing the giant manta rays..
@@chrislaveen543 thanks Chris, yep i did. I went couple of weeks ago and dived with alot of turtles it was awesome
@@chrislaveen543 well lucky seeing manta rays there. I did about 15 dives there last year. Saw loads of turtles and on my last dive a whale shark
@@adammason4454 Missed out on the whale sharks but saw turtles on every dive...Cheers !!!!
@@chrislaveen543 yeah the whale sharks aren't that common there. It's not like oslob where they feed them daily.
Cocos Island, Costa Rica
Nusa Penida, Indonesia by far the best diving in the world
Lobster Limited Ok,so I would love to dive Indonesia but so many island to choose from
Pam Spencer definitely try to go to Bali and go across to Nusa Penida island, there is so much to do!
North Carolina wreck diving, lots of sharks!
The Philippines is fantastic and relativity affordable.
Coron to dive a sunken Japanese WWII fleet, and coral reefs.
El Nido for coral reefs
Moalboal for the sardine run and coral reefs
Malapascua for diving with thresher sharks
to be honest, everywhere seems to have coral reefs in the Philippines
.
That is just the places I have been, there are plenty more all with beautiful beaches, and it isn't all dived out like some other locations.
Well Red Sea is close to me as an Egyptian but I wasn't lucky with my Maldives dive I wasn't very experienced and didn't see much of any colorful fish and saw a lot of brown reefs
I like to dive in my bath tub
NIIIICEEEE
You forgot Sharm al sheikh Egypt.
Sipidan is an amazing site but it's hard to get into
i think it's overpriced, because you just get one day there and the rest will be around mabul/kapalai which is ok-ish. and semporna 🤢
Sipadan, Komodo and Raja Ampat
We stayed on kapulai for 6-7 nights and got to dive Sipadan 3 days (2013). I’ll never forget the Amazing ‘motorway’ of Bumpheads
Yeah Sipidan is great, would be good if you could just dive there and not Mabul/Kapalai, it really is a rort that most places make you stay 5 days to go Sipidan 1, lucky I stayed 3 days and got 2 at Sipidan
Yeah I'm not saying it's at a good price or the dive sites around it are good I'm just saying that the dive sites at Sipidan are top class.
Belize, and my home country is a twin island nation so i head north and take a ferry to dive on the other island, which has the worlds largest brain coral.
Sipadan sir....and koh lipe Thailand
Sail Rock is also sick!
You have not dive in Indonesia?
You should tried it!
It cover the variety and luxury category
Promontorio di Portofino, in Italy
The Philippines. Anilao, Malapascua, Moalboal, Coron, Sogod Bay, Tubbataha (UNESCO World Heritage)
Monterey Bay in California...great diving
Best place I've dived so far is in the Philippines.
Adam Mason Coron for all the wrecks
@@cillianlyons8398 yeah going to do them next time my flight got cancelled there last year due to a typhoon. I did moalboal, siquijor, peurto galea and bohol still though
Moalboal for the sardine run is amazing. The thresher sharks further up north in malapasqua too.
@@cillianlyons8398 yeah Im making sure I dive with the thresher sharks next time.
After Hawaii, California Islands, Cozumel, I Choose Belize as by far the best. Heaven Underwater
Firth of Forth, Scotland
The cayo coco's in Cuba great reefs ..
Marsa alam in the red sea egypt
Best of the best
Capernwray quarry cold but cool
Palau!
Cozumel , México the best place !!!!
I’m surprised that I didn’t see barrier reef in Belize mentioned in the comments.
Flying dogs.... You aren't going to get better than that. Good old Blighty!
Key west 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I like to dive in Baghdad
try to Raja ampat, Indonesia !
Must be antalya- kaş
