I have both Bon Monsieur and Fougere L'Aube and love them both. Fougere L'Aube is like Green Irish Tweed made I to a proper Fougere. L'Aube means "dawn" and it does smell like a fern with dew drops in the early morning sun light.
Awesome list,I honestly don’t understand why ppl say Alexandria|| is a good fragrance! I’m sure you’ll hate it it’s too sweet and nothing new it smells like one of the JPG I forgot which one,and the problem is I own many versions of that juice but I never liked it,you can try the ones that are not sweet and the ones that have prominent oud accords.great video brother enjoyed every second of it.
Lauder for men I may have on this list .. but then again even though some sites list it as a fougere I get cypre vibes too. Like it has the bitter/sour beauty of a chypre but the green vegetal wetness of a fougere. Like if Bernard Chant made an Aromatic fougere. but great list .. I could never make these lists because it would be too much agony having to pick the ones that don't make it. Lol. Oh,and that Smalto..that's another one I saw on that discount "old " table at the perfume store by my house for really cheap. I remember seeing it but that was before I became a vintage head. It's a nightmare when I always see you and the duck show fragrances that they had on that table and I passed them over because I wasn't into vintage yet. Lol.
I just got Loewe Ecencia today. Mine is in the older style bottle but it's semi new because it's a 2017 bottle. From what JJ Colbourne says the older is better. But I even though mine is newer it's still really good. Do you know what year your bottle is? I also got another bottle of older Boss number one today. A 50 ml for 20$ at the place by my house. I had them sell me an old tester.
I’ve got about 6 different French lovers, including an older one from 2009. The older version is much lighter and more aquatic. All the others are mostly the same, although the formulation before the current one (I think it was 2014-218?) is my favorite, and quite a bit stronger. FL is the closest thing to a signature scent that I have. Once I connected the dots between French lover and scents like Fahrenheit, Eau Sauvage edt and even Cool Water, I understood it much better. It’s almost like an aquatic for autumn 🍂
Huge fan of FL here, and every single bottle/sample I have smells slightly different. My introduction to it was through a sample Eugen sent me, one of those 3.5 ml from the discovery sets (I think). It says eau de cologne on the label but it smells richer than the edps I have. I want to pick up another bottle but I'm having trouble figuring out which smells belong to which eras. Any intel you can offer on which eras smelled like what would be greatly appreciated!
Ram 🐏 what fragrances do you recommend to get my nose on that has carnation in it?? I'm drawn to older fragrance formulations but find that modern perfumery rarely pays homage to traditional notes... perhaps a video idea for this is NOT a top ten lol.
Hi Ramsey I've done my haul for the month 😊 as I'm on a fixed income atm after recovering from Spinal fusion. Have u thought of putting together a package of stuff you've aquire that u would never actually wear or just have some good ones u don't wear and are Taking up space and could be sold in a bundle ? Like a Ramsey bundle. I heard u say u were selling a few things and I'm trying to build my collection and I thought ud ask and if I've asked before plz forgive me 🙏
I have not thought about that Rock 🪨🤔 I am thinking of selling Lubin Upper Ten... drop me an email & I will give you a good deal if you are interested 🙂
I ordered a 5ml sample of Francesco Smalto. Should get here on Dec 9th. I also ordered - Balenciaga Pour Homme - Vintage Furyo, Kouros and Lapidus Pour Homme - Caesar's Man - 2012 Dior Eau sauvage sample - Alain Delon Iquitos sample - Jean Marc Sinan V.O Version Originale
My choice this days on fragances are Heritage edt, H24 edp and Barber Note by Darkbeat, a local producer here in Spain (barbershop style, 30 ml of glory). May my nose change over time, but Fougerish perfumes is where i find olfactive happiness, so i wach the show with open eyes 😊
Well there are some amazing Fougere perfumes to discover from this episode...thanks for watching & Heritage EDT will be on round two of this epispde on Amber Fougeres 🤌🤌🤌

@@RamseytheRam Don’t let that ruin your first experience though! Definitely an over simplification. But it does have a similar powdery lavender, cinnamon, vanilla thing going on with the addition of green apple to brighten the top rather than LM’s bergamot and mint.

I know you aren't going to change it, but swapping one hour videos for 2 or 3 hour videos is imo not going in the right direction. But the content is still the best of the genre on UA-cam. I have a bottle of Gucci Nobile. Love the bottle design as well as the scent. The closest similar non-discontinued fragrance is Rogue Perfumery Bon Monsieur. Regarding the Fougere structure, it was my understanding, after a bunch of reading, that its primarily the lavender-coumarin accord that defines it. And the tonka bean note isn't really part of that defining structure per se, because it was merely used by Paul Parquet in 1882 to extract coumarin from. Coumarin itself is said to have sort of a hay-like, dry vegetal and earthy smell, whereas tonka bean is supposedly more complex. I also read that coumarin is also part of many other substances other than tonka bean. It just so happened that Parque used tonka bean to extract it. But coumarin is rarely listed as a note in Aromatic Fougeres, so I assume the hay-like dry vegetal and earthy accord comes from other notes. Not sure how much tonka bean is part of it. But Fragrantica says this about Tonka bean: "Odor profile: Tonka beans - fruits of Dipteryx odorata, a tropical tree native to Central and South America - contain 1-3% of coumarin. Tonka bean absolute contains 90% of coumarin. Depends on the amount, the scent varies from green grassy to sweet tobacco almond." So maybe tonka bean is a part of that lavender-coumarin accord.
@Ramsey I had Cedrat, Sicily and Red Tobacco and gave them away. They just come across as unfinished chemical slushes to me. I have three fragances on the way that will make you proud: Adidas Adidas Cologne, Bogart Pour Homme and Hugo Boss Number One. You're a proper influencer Sir! 👏🏾 🤣🤣
