Shaving your head honestly makes you more confident in your face shape and natural looks. I used to over rely on my hair but I realized if I had to have perfect hair to be attractive I wasn’t truly valuing myself. It grows back fast anyways

First time was 2 years ago and I did it myself, buzz cut it since I didn't like my hair and just said why not. No I wouldn't go shorter. If you wanna cut it, just use some clippers and go all around your head, it's pretty easy.
