I love that you are not only simplifying and using your stash, but the idea of making things special and giving yourself gifts really resonates with me. In the past couple of years consumerism permitted social media and it’s more difficult to find posts that are not about “look what new thing I got” and more about “let’s use what we have”. I think it comes a lot from how social media operates these days, unfortunately. But for some of us “let’s revamp existing notebook” is way more interesting than let’s buy more. Thank you for your honesty (whether you are into collecting covers or journals, making them or being over them) and keeping your videos about what’s real 🤩
I fully agree. I’m finding I connect so much more with others that are really enjoying what they have enough to share the many interesting ways they’ve found works best for them, pros and cons.
I agree. Social media and the UA-cam algorithm are very strange. It’s frustrating to realize that review videos are much simpler and less time consuming to make (and get better views) while process videos can take hours to edit (plus adding voiceovers and music) and do less well. But hey, there are worse problems😁
I wanted to share one of my strategies for meal planning that has really helped over time. I don’t buy meat for my current meal plan. I only buy for the future and only on sale. Then when we are making our menu, we only cook meat out of the freezer. That has really helped us save money. That and cutting back the amount of meat we eat. Like a single pack of chicken gets stretched to at least two meals.
I've had a hard time getting my SO to understand that a serving of meat is 4 ounces, not 16 ounces. I've told him countless times that I can't afford to feed him a pound of beef at every meal. Even after he saw that a package of bacon is $10 at the store, he has no problem eating an entire package of bacon with breakfast. I've had to literally make food I know he dislikes to stop him from eating all of the leftovers that I make so I have food to reheat for lunch and don't go broke. Jeesh.
Love to hear you talk about planners and systems. I also really enjoyed you showing us leather covers and how to make them. You could even show us how you make the fabric covers. I would really appreciate that too.
💯 agree with you on the tracking . Some people are data collectors- and that’s ok- but I don’t need to collect data only for the sake of collecting data. It needs to serve a function for me- even if it’s a non serious one. This year I started a sunset tracker to see how many sunsets I can see in a week. Fun way to motivate me to get see more sunsets!
Hi Sarah, I hope you’re well. We’ve missed you. I watched you for years when planning seemed simpler. I have many Chic Sparrow watching you 😄 That was a while ago. I hope you and your family are well. Take care. ❤
Aw, thank you! Things have been too chaotic to make videos in a regular manner-I had another baby and 2 big moves within the last year and a half. I feel like I’m so out of the game that I don’t know how to do videos anymore, haha. I haven’t written it off completely though! Hope you’ve been well♥️
Love this! I’m also feeling the urge to simplify, but part of me wants to “finish” the planners I started. And another part of me wants all the planners 😅
@@sarahmartinezjournals omg you’re reading my mind 🖤 I put a cover on mine yesterday and thought maybe I should make a video of the process (which is very, hodge podge, I’m not great with fabric crafts 😅😅 ) and of course with creds to you for the amazing idea! Xx
I’ve always loved how you curate your stash. It’s been fun to see the evolution. I enjoy watching your “Cloffice” video. If you have time to reset a video sharing your “office” space or how you are storing your current collection I’d love to see it. Where are the stickers from at minute 9:49 “coffee mugs and painted jugs”?
Thank you! I no longer have a cloffice since we moved so all my stuff is in boxes in my closet, haha. I believe those stickers came from a sticker sheet from OURS Studio and I either got it from Niconeco or Journal Station…I can’t find them anymore at the moment!
@@sarahmartinezjournals I bet the boxes in the closet are beautifully organized! Thank you for taking the time to respond. This might sound strange but I'm so happy that the OURS sticker sheet is no longer available. It quells my FOMO. And it reinforces the "shop your stash" movement. Lastly - love the decorating after the week is complete. I'm going to try this.
I miss watching your videos, hope you’re well 💕

I love that you are simplifying and shooting for consistency. That is my goal and your message is what I need to keep hearing.
So glad to hear it!🙌

That’s me too! 😅❤
I’m so happy that you liked the pen case! I’ve been trying to find the name since I saw it on Ig!! 😊
I like your style and lettering
Love the fabric cover such a great idea I might need to borrow! Also I’m obsessed with the floral pen case. ❤
Would love to see a video if you do it, Rachel!
