I have been in this K-Pop universe since 2009 so I came in during the rise of SHINee, Big Bang, & MBLAQ. Music was awesome at that time so I became a multi-fandom girl. I was introduced to BTS during their 'Boy In Luv' era so I was a little behind on their debut. Once I caught up I was mesmerized yet saddened by the struggles our boys had to endure. I mean, their debut literally happened by accident which is horrifying for a new group to go through. So I ask you this, if Big Bang opened the door for BTS... Why was it slammed in their faces so many times? If Big Bang paved the way for BTS... Why was the road so bumpy for them? These things are supposed to make it easier for the next person or people who come along to enter or drive easily. Nothing came easy for BTS until 2017 when they won 'Top Social Artist' at the Billboard Music Awards. Even then they were met with criticism & hate since that award wasn't "Real". Yet after they won it 4 years in a row, more groups started applying to win that fake award. So while I respect & love Big Bang (again, I am a VIP), you can't erase history. Especially when it's on UA-cam for the world to see. Nothing was paved or opened for BTS until Psy came in with 'Gangnam Style' & 'Gentleman'. Those songs are why K-Pop became popular in America. So he opened the door & BTS kicked it off its hinges so that other groups such as ATeez (Cochella), Stray Kidz (American Music Awards), TxT (Lollapalooza), Seventeen, Aespa, IVE, Itzy, and Blackpink (also Coachella) could perform freely in America. I've been a K-pop fan for over 7 years, starting with BTS. I'm proud of their respect for other artists, but some new fans are disappointing. I hope they start supporting the group more maturely.

With this phrase I want to emphasize that Big Bang was definitely a stepping stone for BTS as was PSY , Epic High or Twice and many others before them ! But while Big Bang made some success they didn't manage to penetrate the western music industry! On the other hand BTS although recognize the success and importance of these groups and artists they made a huge leap to the western music industry which they maintained for years and created a "highway" for others to follow! I am an ARMY and not K pop fan but through BTS I found Big Bang , Epic High , Twice and so many more ! Through BTS I learn to appreciate their music! So although these groups definitely influence BTS as artists but it was BTS who showed to the western industry that K pop is much more that a one time success ! BTS is the group who changed the western mentality towards K pop ! To put it in simple words Big Bang and others open a window and showed the scenery but BTS open the gates , paved the way, mapped the path and wrote the Guide how to achieve and MAINTAIN global success! Suga said that Big Bang "made" BTS but he also said that when they started achieving huge global success they didn't have anyone to turn to to seek advice how to maintain this success! So for both VIP's and ARMY's lets be respectful and render that which is to Big Bang to Big Bang and that which is to BTS to BTS !!! Happy New Year !!!

Why I find this very difficult to believe this is actually real ARMY doing this. Real ARMY love to hear BTS, watch the massive back catalogue of BTS talking on lives and behind the scenes. and reflect many of the attitudes they learned from BTS, who have always been very respectful to their senior artists. ( unless they were the underground rappers who openly mocked them. BTS have openly admired this group and artist. Now BTS achievements are so huge that neither they nor ARMY need to posture like this. This sort of self agrandisment is the purview of those trying to appear more than they are. Little man syndrome. All the Army I know are focused on the Billions project, following the various court cases etc. We really are not that insecure. So I have lumped this in with the other negative paid for anti Hybe anti BTS propoganda, part of the ongoing efforts of corporate sabotage tryingvyo drum up controversy that might bring down Hybes stock price. Or as Min Hee Jin said to her colleague " we just need the headlines they dont have to be true". From the evidence Hybe submitted in the first court case in discovery from texts using the corporate server.
