I had a primary Neoendocrine tumor which was obstructing small intestine. Removed along with a few liver metastasis. 1% on Biopsy. Is Octreotide injection necessary ? My Medical Oncologist is suggesting Octreotide but I am afraid of Diabetes and Gallstones side effects of Octreotide, plus very costly. Does octreotide cause side effects ? I do not have any disease symptoms at this point. Rather all my gastric symptoms I was having have totally subsided.
