- We made our bench seat into a pull out seating area so we could put our legs up and totally relax and this upgrade has totally changed our lives and allows us to now get comfy

Morning guys, to make the pull out slide easier put some wax in the grooves and on the underside of the slide out, it may make it easier to slide and reduce the sticking and catching. Look forward to seeing you in a field somewhere again 😁

Very true the price of everything has gone through the roof, I think I'll send Emma bin diving next time we need stuff lol!
@Anna Orlinski hi, it depends on what type and how much wood you need, when we started building we did a lot of research around local places to get the best prices, for example when we needed large amounts of ply for the side walls and floor we used a timber yard in Formby in the end, as they where doing the best price and delivery was free, the laminated lightweight ply for the cupboards and walls we used a company called ukleisureparts.co.uk as they where coming out around £50 a sheet cheaper than other suppliers and it was the look we where going for, it depends on what look you want in your van, but the best advise we can give is research and shop around, it takes more time but its worth it, we had many a sleepless night whilst building!

Your a very clever man ! And love watching your content But that seemed a over engineered job why not leave it as it was and put another piece of hinged 18mm ply on top of what you had ! And then simply flap it open to create the extra seating which could have been supported on two legs ! This way no alterations to the original facia 👍 just a thought ❤️👏👍
We actually did that and it was no good so we moved to this way . I don’t think it’s over engineered it’s a simple way but works perfect

Hi, I've been watching and loving you videos for a while. I'm slowly catching up. Just a bit of safety info, which you've probably adjusted already, but your carbon monoxide detector is too low in your van. It needs to be placed just above head height in the van when standing. This is because CO rises when warm, and it slowly drops into the space as it cools. I'm a gas engineer, and have seen several fatalities over the years from misplaced alarms. 1.7m is normally the ideal height. Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know. Craig.

We will probably redo all the cushions at a later date so they all match and it will freshen up the van too, but this was just for now until her royal highness can decide on a colour and fabric!

Literally waiting on replacement units that git recalled by dometic to get sorted, it has taken months and been rather frustrating but it's all sorted now so we can crack on!

Hey matey, great vid as always, did you try the plug slots in the furniture board, the bottom looks tight to me, may have to extend the bottom area of the plug housing. Just a wee obs. Cheers guys✌️🇬🇧
hi great point. Yes we have the plugs fit fine as there is a 5mm gap between the edge of the plug and where the cable is, so with routering the back out it has given us enough room

Looks great, are you going to be able to push the plug all the way in, with that lip around the sockets? Would of thought the cable at the bottom of the plugs would make it difficult
Luckily we measured most plugs abs there is a 5mm gap from the base to the cord . So hopefully we have a winner .

Hi Felicity, hope you are all well? Yes this one was a bit of a head scratcher for us and we had to come back to it over a couple of days as it got the better of us to start! I totally agree with you, I definitely do deserve that Llama and the unicorn, he's such a grinch sometimes! The pull out seating is so comfy I have calmed it as my throne with only me and the puppers allowed...jokes, but in all seriousness it was something that has been on our upgrade list for a while, now we can all be comfy whilst watching a film together! Great vid Neil and Emma. Got question for you regarding vapour barriers!! I see behind you sofa we could see insulation but no barrier. Do you think we actually need them? As we’re building a Renault Master LWB van with a full width ways bed and toilet but no shower and we’re having trouble trying to get all our wires behind our panels in the garage as the barrier tends to get in the way. It is rather taught mind!! What you think? Cheers.
We don’t have one there cos the boilers there so I don’t think we need one . And the vapour barrier is an on going van conversation which I think is a personal choice . Don’t thing any ones knows for sure mate but we lose no heat so I guess we did ok
Hi Ian I also have a Renault Master LWB , used for the last 2 years without a vapour barrier , only the white recycled insulation rolls were used , my choice after watching another build they mentioned any leak from the outside will not dry out for a long time if it is sealed behind the vapour barrier , seemed to make sense to my tiny mind , so I went the same way , recently removed some panelling to run extra wires , all was good no sign of damp or any mouldy looking bits . I do run heating and ventilation so if there was any condensation it must be drying out pretty quick. your choice though lol

hey buddy thanks for the lovely comment , and we both agree totaly mad , but hey thats a good thing we think . The heater we have in our have is a truma combi 4E boiler , it dose the heating and also the hot water as well , and yer we have and have had no issues with this beast it can run on gas or electric but we only ever use it on the gas and it never seems to use much gas as well , and 10in i think shes telling little fibs there , thanks for watching buddy take care and all the best for the new year ,

@@UrbanVanlife it's all good turned out great 👍 CNC machine is basically just a computer controlled router which is why I was surprised you didn't use the router then I thought maybe you didn't have one and then you said you used one to do the sockets 😂
