Three members of GFRIEND, Eunha, SinB, and Umji, went on to form the group VIVIZ, who I'm pretty sure you've reacted to at least once. "Mago" was GFRIEND's final title track before their disbandment.

Thanks for your GFriend reaction. They were disbanded in secrecy by the company and it shocked the entire industry as the members had said publicly how they wanted to continue for 15 years as a group because they are such a close group of friends. Fans only got told that their contracts would end 4 days before it happened which gave the members no time to have a farewell with their fans. Even then it was leaked to the press or it might have been less than 4 days. The girls were never allowed to say why their contracts were terminated early probably because they were forced to sign a non disclosure agreement. But they still had 6 months left on their contracts still to run so the company lied publicly about that saying that they had expired. Something major happened behind the scenes which caused this knee jerk decision. Even their own staff didn’t know and many walked out the door in protest the day GFriend were thrown out of the company. This included their manager who continued to work for Sowon unpaid once they were split up such was the close bond they had with the staff. A new album was about to be released and the music video already shot for their next comeback. Yuju wanted to play her favourite track from the new album to fans on a VLive but was told NO by staff listening in, saying that they had to wait a few more weeks until the album was released. All this created one of the biggest mysteries in KPop but one thing is sure, the girls didn’t want this to happen. Strong hints have been dropped that they will reunite again very soon so fans are hoping this will happen.

But bad things happen in business and Kpop, so I now try to focus my negative energy positively into promoting the members current projects and supporting them in any way I can. But seeing all 6 members publicly supporting each other in everything they do gladdens my heart, especially when you consider that it is over 3 years since they last released music together. Sowon said trust me Buddy, it may take some time so please be patient but we WILL reunite again one day and said in a televised interview just a few months ago that she is still part of the group GFriend and she was not an ex idol just yet.
I couldn't have explained it any better. it's still a shame they suddenly did such a shady move to the group that quite literally built that company up. anyways, viviz is thriving and the girls have amazing solo work as well. and, you know, karma comes for everyone.
Mago is a natural progression from their previous song Apple 🍎. Their final album where Mago is the main track is called Walpurgis Night which is a pagan celebration where witches come together. Apple is from the album Song of the Sirens and is about being drawn into temptation and sees them turn into witches after succumbing to earthly desires. The music video is stunning and well worth checking out.
Mago is one of my favorite songs ever, it immediately puts me in a good mood! So glad they're carrying that soft pop sound with VIVIZ!! Also, you would LOVE Everglow, I'm not a girl crush girlie but all their title tracks are so good!
hi! major forever (everglow fan) here! this is my understanding/analysis of their position in the industry as a follower since their debut days. *please note that this is not any judgement of the members, who are all very talented and deserving of success, but more so a critique of their management and the fickleness of kpop stans* everglow definitely made a splash during their rookie era, with pretty regular comebacks every few months, as well as a few members' previous appearances on survival shows like produce48 and idol school creating hype for the 'monster rookies'. but (as happens to most girl groups) after about a year into their career, general kpop listeners eventually became more interested in other rookie girl groups and moved on to their shiny new idols of the month (sorry for the snark, this obviously still bothers me lol). even with their relative success and the buzz surrounding them, their dedicated fanbase was not as large and couldn't maintain all of the word of mouth they got on sns previously. so they were solidly middle of the pack in terms of popularity for girl groups. now what mattered was reappearance power and slowly but surely building up their audience over time. the next major hurdle for everglow is their company/management, yuehua entertainment, which is a multi-pronged issue and explanation for their inconsistency in relevance. everglow is managed under the korean subsidiary branch of yuehua, which is a much larger, richer label from mainland china (tempest, a boy group, and choi yena, a soloist and former izone member, are also managed by yuehua). first of all, yuehua obviously does not hold as much power/capital in korea, and the sinophobia in the korean entertainment industry has undeniably held yuehua and everglow back in terms of coverage and advertising in their main market. yuehua is at the disadvantage of being both a middle-sized and foreign company in the exclusive k-industry. part of the issue is that yuehua is also inconsistent in management and doesn't make smart business decisions: lack of english subtitles and infrequent reality/variety content made the group less accessible to international audiences, which hurt their chances of building a global fanbase to support everglow in the wake of apathy from the domestic market. their comebacks also became more and more infrequent after the first year of everglow's career, with breaks growing from a standard few months to eventually an entire 2 years, which you know about. there have been a few health hiatuses as well as a change in leadership amongst the group, which also worsened concerns of internal instability. everglow experienced a pretty big scandal that partially exacerbated the 2 year hiatus: yiren, the maknae and only foreign member of the band (chinese), was attacked by netizens for not bowing at one of their fan meetings. basically, there was a big cultural misunderstanding over the bowing (she made a traditional chinese gesture of expressing gratitude/new years well wishes, while her korean members did the traditional korean full-bow-on-the-ground). she was called ungrateful, rude, etc (yay sinophobia) and in january of 2022, yuehua announced that she'd be on indefinite hiatus and be returning to china for the time being (she had promotional schedules there, but the chinese entertainment industry is pretty insular and these promotions didn't have a lot of reach to everglow's interntational fans. i can't answer to her popularity in china, though she did a lot of stuff). after about 10-11 months yiren returned to korea/everglow in november 2022, though we didn't get any new music from the whole group until august of this year. in spite of these things, everglow is still incredibly talented and doing very well! but poor management, disadvantages in domestic marketing, and passivity from the general public has kept them from reaching their full capacity in terms of popularity. i'd love if you checked out everglow on your channel! their concept and title tracks tend to fulfill the girl crush niche, and i think you'd have an enjoyable experience getting to know them. here's what i'd recommend for a first listen: 1. Bon Bon Chocolat-- their debut, and overall one of my favorite kpop debuts. they came out the gate swinging. this song can be polarizing, but i like how much of a statement it is. 2. Dun Dun- this was their second comeback, and one of the songs they're best known for (in addition to La Di Da). it's classic everglow. 3. First- this song and mv are a masterpiece, and lean super hard into the more powerful aspects of what the girl crush concept has the potential to be. First was also choreographed by bbtrippin, who you are most familiar with through their work with ateez. i really can't recommend First enough. their other title tracks Adios, Pirate, and Slay (their most recent comeback) are also great and worth listening to! please consider reacting to everglow! :)
I went to the EVERGLOW concert in Louisville last month. It was a great concert in a small venue. I did the meet and greet after the concert. The girls were so sweet and nice. I hope they take off again now that they're back!

LA DI DA is one of the best songs in history. PERIODT. nobody can change my mind on this song cause it is an actual MASTERPIECE. and also they disappiert cause their company is not it.
If you watch The MV and read the lyrics from begining to the end ( glass bead to Mago ) you will understand this.. But this theory for Mago Mv.. They're witches already... From the lines " I wanna ride a broom and Fly " as well as " 6960 magic" which refer to NGC6960 , the witch broom nebula. They wear glittering clothes because they ate the apple ( Apple MV describe apple to be glittering ). The music Video is about Sowon's attempt to save the girls , apparently , the rest of the members were burned at stake in apple MV , because apple MV is the start of the Walpurgis Night, a celebration of witches burned at the stake. In the apple MV , the hair burning Ritual shows the apples= Glass bead burning , except Sowon's , Because no one cut her hair at the back. 1. Sowon come to save rest of the girls , she enter the tunnel ( Symbolism that she's leaping through the time ) To save the girls who were burned at the stake in apple MV. 2. They dance in the moon ( Disco Ball ) Night , which is part of the Walpurgis Night festival , Yuju seems to be the Queen of that night , consistent with her being the only one with a CROWN in apple MV. That also explains the overwhelming number of mirrors in the MV , an object related to Yuju's Power. 3. We know that sowon obtained a unique ability from the bookstore owner ( Marchen Book ) , in the same way eunha got her Navilleras/butterflies. She used this ability to travel to the future ( Tunnel ) , where the people celebrate The Wlapurgis Night , where the rest of the burnt Member Re- appear ( This is a holiday ) , This is in the lyrics the girls can dance to the moon night again 2 years ago , on the night of april 30 ( european holiday for Walpurgis Night ) , Gfriend Release Time For the Moon night. 4. They were unsure and afraid of the future in TFTMN , but in MAGO , they are expecting the future , they are no more hesitant ( Hakuna Matata = No worries ) of which crossroad to take , as the lyrics suggest " Joy or Sorrow everything will be me ". 5. In the end , sowon managed to get them back and they went through the same tunnel , going back in time , this tunnel almost similiar to the tunnel in the sunrise. There is also a fish eye lens scene in the last dance Sequence , which is a glass bead shot, which is sowon glass bead ability , she can look the girl wherever they are through her glass bead , as revealed in in the marchen book. As well as sunny summer when eunha saw something through sowon jewelry ( The diamond she nearly swallowed ). This tell us that sowon , after meeting with the bookstore owner , can probably look at the girls in the future... Thats why she was able to locate the time line to go through. If eunha uses the power of the butterfly vis-a-vis, her power to create lucid dreams ( she goes back in time .. to the time she is last a sleep ) . Sowon can use the unique power vis-a-vis, her power to see the girls using the glass bead . The song lyrics also combination of their other song lyrics , esp. Navillera and fingertip. They're going back in time now .. opposite of the old GFRIEND that continuosly goes right by the ever so flowing concept of time. Hence the Railroad , Trains , Seasons , Bridges , And Trees. We get to see the most obvious indication of Twin Eunha and Sinb. They have been giving us hints of their " ONEness " in fingertip ( When Sinb astral projection comes out of Eunha ) , Love Whisper ( Yerin x Sinb which turns out to be Yerin x Eunha in navillera ) , TFTMN ( Couch Scene where sinb shadows Eunha , Choreo as well ) , Sunrise ( Fingertip ending eunha crying while a sleep , Sunrise Ending Sinb Crying While A sleep ) , Apple MV ( They Two Kissing The same apple ). This time , we actually see the two of them in similiar Outfits , Short hair , Same set Of earrings , And pearl Necklace. THEORY 1 My theory also is that not only are Eunha and Sinb Related .. but also Umji.. the scene at the start , where Umji and Sinb appear out of nowhere next to eunha just keeps bugging me. Then it occured to me how GFRIEND like using Greek Myth aa part of their Storyline ( Orion the hunter and artemis in Fingertip ) , ( Artemis and apollo in TFTMN ) , ( Ariadne and theeseus in labyrinth portion of apple ). Eunha , Umji , and Sinb reminded Me of the Greek of goddess of the night ( girls only meet at night / Dreams ). Witchcraft and Magic ( Apple Mv +magic grantedby the love whisper lake ) , and Crossroad ( Overall theme ) = HECATE She has 3 Faces that signify her dominion over the stars , The sea and The underworld , these face are each represented by Twin eunha + Sinb With Umji as the dividing line. Star : Eunha means Galaxy.. she is associated with Navillera ( Blue Butterfly of the Stars ) her butterflies in Apple Returned back to the stars . Underworld : Sinb is the one who tempted Eunha to bite the apple ( Devils temptation ) Sea : Umji paper boat in summer rain .. she is in Summer rain Outfit in the butterfly Effect , the Aquarium Scene in Crossroad When Umji got Rejected by Yuju. In eunha and sinb Kiss in apple MV , She is the apple ( MNET comeback Stage intro Where she has an apple on the Beambalance , as well as in concept Photos ). That divide the Stars ( Eunha ) and the underworld ( Sinb ) , The Sea pretty much divides The underworld and the Stars. Loved this! 2020 was honestly soo solid for kpop. It was also the year i got into kpop so its definitely special. There’s actually a mashup of all 2020 kpop songs by a channel called Normal smasher and even tho i normally dont like mashups THAT one seriously is my favourite and i still go back to it from time to time. It’s so well made and has most 2020 songs so I definitely recommend that (you can obviously either react to it or watch it on your own)
I'm pretty sure the Spanish meaning of Mago is actually coincidental(or at least a double meaning) Mago(마고) is a deity in Korean folklore who's responsible for weaving the threads of fate, among other things. Hence the line "go ahead and judge me" and the references to a "her" in the mirror.
Taemin is a masterpiece and one of a kind. Every comeback he takes us through another experience and every time we don’t want him to stop. I’ve never been disappointed with any of his songs or performances. Criminal is another supreme artistic achievement.

I feel like I'm not as big of an answer enthusiast as some people, especially compared to some of ateez’s other title tracks (Inception narrowly missed my top 10), but I definitely get the hype! Blue Hour from TXT also narrowly missed, and I still haven't really listened to any 2020 Seventeen yet 😅 but I'll get there!!

Can't you just react to a dance practice or stage performance for the songs you've heard before? Seems kind of pointless to do a reaction video without reactions in it, doesn't it?
I hadn’t seen the performance video before! But in hindsight the dance practice might have been better, will keep that in mind for next time. Hard to know without watching it how different it’s going to be from the MV. And unfortunately stage performances often get blocked or copyright struck ☹️

in spite of these things, everglow is still incredibly talented and doing very well! but poor management, disadvantages in domestic marketing, and passivity from the general public has kept them from reaching their full capacity in terms of popularity.
i'd love if you checked out everglow on your channel! their concept and title tracks tend to fulfill the girl crush niche, and i think you'd have an enjoyable experience getting to know them. here's what i'd recommend for a first listen:
1. Bon Bon Chocolat-- their debut, and overall one of my favorite kpop debuts. they came out the gate swinging. this song can be polarizing, but i like how much of a statement it is.
2. Dun Dun- this was their second comeback, and one of the songs they're best known for (in addition to La Di Da). it's classic everglow.
3. First- this song and mv are a masterpiece, and lean super hard into the more powerful aspects of what the girl crush concept has the potential to be. First was also choreographed by bbtrippin, who you are most familiar with through their work with ateez. i really can't recommend First enough.
their other title tracks Adios, Pirate, and Slay (their most recent comeback) are also great and worth listening to! please consider reacting to everglow! :)

I went to the EVERGLOW concert in Louisville last month. It was a great concert in a small venue. I did the meet and greet after the concert. The girls were so sweet and nice. I hope they take off again now that they're back!

The music Video is about Sowon's attempt to save the girls , apparently , the rest of the members were burned at stake in apple MV , because apple MV is the start of the Walpurgis Night, a celebration of witches burned at the stake.
In the apple MV , the hair burning Ritual shows the apples= Glass bead burning , except Sowon's , Because no one cut her hair at the back.
1. Sowon come to save rest of the girls , she enter the tunnel ( Symbolism that she's leaping through the time ) To save the girls who were burned at the stake in apple MV.
2. They dance in the moon ( Disco Ball ) Night , which is part of the Walpurgis Night festival , Yuju seems to be the Queen of that night , consistent with her being the only one with a CROWN in apple MV. That also explains the overwhelming number of mirrors in the MV , an object related to Yuju's Power.
3. We know that sowon obtained a unique ability from the bookstore owner ( Marchen Book ) , in the same way eunha got her Navilleras/butterflies. She used this ability to travel to the future ( Tunnel ) , where the people celebrate The Wlapurgis Night , where the rest of the burnt Member Re- appear ( This is a holiday ) , This is in the lyrics the girls can dance to the moon night again 2 years ago , on the night of april 30 ( european holiday for Walpurgis Night ) , Gfriend Release Time For the Moon night.
4. They were unsure and afraid of the future in TFTMN , but in MAGO , they are expecting the future , they are no more hesitant ( Hakuna Matata = No worries ) of which crossroad to take , as the lyrics suggest " Joy or Sorrow everything will be me ".
5. In the end , sowon managed to get them back and they went through the same tunnel , going back in time , this tunnel almost similiar to the tunnel in the sunrise. There is also a fish eye lens scene in the last dance Sequence , which is a glass bead shot, which is sowon glass bead ability , she can look the girl wherever they are through her glass bead , as revealed in in the marchen book. As well as sunny summer when eunha saw something through sowon jewelry ( The diamond she nearly swallowed ). This tell us that sowon , after meeting with the bookstore owner , can probably look at the girls in the future... Thats why she was able to locate the time line to go through. If eunha uses the power of the butterfly vis-a-vis, her power to create lucid dreams ( she goes back in time .. to the time she is last a sleep ) . Sowon can use the unique power vis-a-vis, her power to see the girls using the glass bead . The song lyrics also combination of their other song lyrics , esp. Navillera and fingertip.
They're going back in time now .. opposite of the old GFRIEND that continuosly goes right by the ever so flowing concept of time. Hence the Railroad , Trains , Seasons , Bridges , And Trees.
We get to see the most obvious indication of Twin Eunha and Sinb.
They have been giving us hints of their " ONEness " in fingertip ( When Sinb astral projection comes out of Eunha ) , Love Whisper ( Yerin x Sinb which turns out to be Yerin x Eunha in navillera ) , TFTMN ( Couch Scene where sinb shadows Eunha , Choreo as well ) , Sunrise ( Fingertip ending eunha crying while a sleep , Sunrise Ending Sinb Crying While A sleep ) , Apple MV ( They Two Kissing The same apple ). This time , we actually see the two of them in similiar Outfits , Short hair , Same set Of earrings , And pearl Necklace.

My theory also is that not only are Eunha and Sinb Related .. but also Umji.. the scene at the start , where Umji and Sinb appear out of nowhere next to eunha just keeps bugging me.

She has 3 Faces that signify her dominion over the stars , The sea and The underworld , these face are each represented by Twin eunha + Sinb With Umji as the dividing line.
Star : Eunha means Galaxy.. she is associated with Navillera ( Blue Butterfly of the Stars ) her butterflies in Apple Returned back to the stars .
Underworld : Sinb is the one who tempted Eunha to bite the apple ( Devils temptation )

Loved this! 2020 was honestly soo solid for kpop. It was also the year i got into kpop so its definitely special. There’s actually a mashup of all 2020 kpop songs by a channel called Normal smasher and even tho i normally dont like mashups THAT one seriously is my favourite and i still go back to it from time to time. I hadn’t seen the performance video before! But in hindsight the dance practice might have been better, will keep that in mind for next time. Hard to know without watching it how different it’s going to be from the MV.
