Looks like some pretty solid work you are doing on the Dart. One thing I would suggest to you is to use some good weld-thru primer between your seams, especially in areas where you grind off the E-coat. Just a little more future rust prevention.

    Great video, Dude.
I need to do the same repair on my Aussie A Body.

Great work! I hope you wired wheeled the inside of that rocker and through on some fresh paint to retard any further or future rust. I did not see you use any weld through primer, which is helpful when you are welding two enclosed areas like that. Even using rust encapsulator is a good idea. Well done!

Just so happens I have to do the same thing on my 70 dart and this was very good to see how you approached the job. I noticed that you had the car on jack stands. You removed the torque from the torsion cars on purpose or did you happen to look into wether you should have the suspension under load? Was the the replacement galvanized?

Great video! Super clear process. I have 71 Cuda that needs outers (hopefully just outers). I definitely also want to avoid the pinch areas sandwiched between various braces. Major deconstruction to get at all those metal sandwiches those as you pointed out. I was wondering if it would be better to try to keep more of the outer rockers in those tricky areas by leaving a good inch of the top of the old rocker and then trimming the AMD panel and butt welding. Hard to tell for sure in the video but it looked like you had some good metal in the outer rocker behind the quarter and on the front side too. What do you think?

I would butt weld as little as possible. Butt welding can cause too much heat and may end up with a warped panel that is difficult to work with

@@upstategearheads did you get rid of the rust at bottom of inner sill. then when finished, spray a heap of fish oil in the sill./rocker.

@@upstategearheads that’s crazy. I am working on the dart and maybe see you at a cruise. Do you go to Gals or Watertown on Starbuck ave? Haven’t seen your car but I don’t go every week

Occasionally I'll go down to the Gal's. The dart is still sitting on a shelf in the garage. I've moved on to a 62' Newport with a 5.7 Hemi. I'll hopefully some videos of that in the spring

@@upstategearheads maybe we will bump into one another. I need a body shop if you know of someone who can finish up some work and paint. It’s tough getting someone who knows what they are doing and doesn’t let it sit in a corner. I want progress and quality work. Any suggestions? Thank you
