    So what is Riff in a minute? It's a weekly series of quick bass lessons where you are shown everything you need to teach yourself a quick bass riff. You can learn how to play a new bass line in just 1 minute. The Riff in a Minute Series will show you how to play a bass line from 3 simultaneous camera angles so you can get the technique down perfect and see the TAB and Notation too!!!!! Plus there's a backing track section too so you can practice playing it by yourself.

    Hey team! What did you guys think of the new TAB play along software in this video? Do you like it more than the usual static image one? Is the TAB too small to read? And if you are finding it a bit on the small side would you be happy to sacrifice the notation line and just have TABS only (with rhythms) so that it can be enlarged more? Basically keen for your feedback about what you guys find most helpful during the lessons!

      Great lesson Clay. The new tabs are cool, they are little small when watching it on my phone though.

      Hey Clay. I like the old Tabs better. In the new display, the tabs are really small.
      You do the best lessons, the different speed and camera shots are something no one else does. Add to that the degree of difficulty rating is one way to gauge how I'm progressing. Adding the 1/2 bass to the ratings is a nice touch.
      When you do a riff for a 5 string bass, I would continue, as you have done in the past, to translate for a 4 string. I also like it that some more difficult videos you cover I can still practice and sound good at a slower tempo.
      You are the only site I subscribe to that I receive/ allow notifications from because I look forward to watching your vids.
      Thanks Dana

      WOW thanks Dana! That's amazing feedback! Thank you so much! So glad you appreciate all the extra aspects I put into my riff in a minute lessons. I will endeavour to continue to do 4 string versions of 5 string songs and also thanks regarding the TAB. One option to make the playalong TAB bigger is to sacrifice the Notation Line and just have TAB? Although I'm 50/50 with whether to do the play along TABS or the static picture version. Thanks again for your feedback it really helps.

    Hi there Clay, would you be able to teach us "Don't go" by Kevin Rose from his The awakening album?

    • @ClaysBassLessons
      @ClaysBassLessons  5 років тому +2

      Hmmm yeah I like that track. Thanks for sending it to me. I'll put it on the list but that list is growing so fast these days. So incase it takes a while I had a quick play on it now and Im going to give you a quick run down of it. Its using a 1-5-8-9 pattern. If that doesn't make sense to you it means on each chord the bass player plays the root note, then the 5th which is two frets across and one string down and then does a slide from the 8 to the 9. The 8 is the octave which is the note that is 2 across and 2 down from the root and the 9 is two frets higher on the same string as the 8. Hope that makes sense. Its a common pattern played in lots of songs like Lady by Modjo. Anyway you play this pattern on the chord progression of G#maj C#min Emaj A maj. Give that a go for now. Good luck.
