    ===========================================
    Had a chance to play around with the brand new 2018/2019 Audi RS5 Coupe. This is an amazing sports car. Check out this video to learn more about it and my thoughts on it. Is this worth $100K + ? I think so for what you get. I love the exhaust sounds coming out of this sports car. Though its a bi-turbo V6, its has plenty of grunt. A all year long sports car that will put a smile on your face every time.
    Here are some timelines for you to use as a guide:
    00:00 to 02:15 : Intro
    02:16 to 10:07 : Exterior, Interior & engine walkthrough
    10:07 to 12:51 : Startup and revving (exhaust sounds)
    12:52 to 19:49 : Driving Impressions ( Acceleration, exhaust sounds)
    10:50 to 21:11 : What makes this sports car special?
    21:12 to 27:22 : What options to consider when buying and should you buy?
    27:22 to 28:29 : Outro
    This will be same as the 2019 Audi RS5 with possibly some minor trim updates.

    I have a 2016 911 4S and 2018 Audi RS5. I honestly can't believe any negative reviews on the RS5. As a road car...it's comfortable, looks incredible in person, torque and even top end is amazing...gorgeous interior and I actually pick it to drive over my 911 most days. I love my 911, but the RS5 is just amazing. From comfort to dynamic this car transforms.

    • @thedevthing
      @thedevthing  5 років тому +2

      Thank you for watching the video and commenting. I would be in the same boat as you if I owned the RS5. I currently have the S4 and a 997.2 911 GTS. Right now I pick the 911 over the S4 in a daily driving scenario. If I had the RS5 sportback, it would be the opposite. Soon however winter is going to hit us and the 911 will go into hybernation and driving the S4 is going to have me feeling like something is missing... will have to trade in the S4 for the RS5 when it's time.

    • @sapientbudgie5652

      I have the same car in your video, except in the nardo grey. I find it easier to keep clean and I like the contrast with the carbon/black optics pack. I usually hate alcantera in a car, but the RS package adds a lot of nice padding in by your legs, nice stripes on your seat belt. I love the carbon fibre mirrors and all the inlays at the front and side of the car. I love the drivers assistance pack. On the hwy it basically drives itself. I have the heads up display and actually love it now, in the past thought it was useless. This is a 100k car, 10k of options for me was worth it so I have no regrets. No car is perfect, but this RS5 is fun and comfortable. Rare combination in a sports car

      quinn nguyen I drove the c63 s and the M4. No car is perfect. But the RS5 for me was the best fit. Gets more attention than my 911. Gorgeous mean styling. I have the nardo with every option pack except carbon ceramic brakes. Exhaust in the cabin is perfect. Deep and throaty and upper register like a formula race car beautiful pitch. I found the merc interior full of tacky vents, too much aluminum crap everywhere, and a low pitch growl exhaust that never changes. Great car just not for me. Feels really heavy and claustrophobic inside. M4 was too stiff even in most relaxing setting. Worst exhaust note of the 3 and looked like every other 340M package cars on the road. RS5 feels special. From the incredible torque to the styling. I also love comfort mode on the Hwy. No exhaust drone at all and refined. One button pressed and the car feels completely planted more stiff and pulls in every gear with no lag. Feels like it’s supercharged not twin turbos

      I am a bit biased to white. I have been looking at these now in sportback and coupe versions and I am torn up. White with the carbon package is epic. A darker color like the blue with carbon package is also epic.

      The exhaust flaps open in dynamic or if you are in individual mode and you set the exhaust to sport. S mode only seems to provide aggressive throttle input. I have to double check if the S mode changes the Rpms at which the exhaust flaps open.

      Oh man, please don’t regret the purchase. You have a beautiful ride. The c63s is an amazing car. Any of the sports cars in that price point is a great buy; be it the M3, M4, C63s, RS5. Ask yourself, does the car make you smile as you drive it, does it feel special to you? If so you have a picked the right car.
      For us car guys, no matter what car we get or drive we will always look at the next best thing out there.
      I have not driven the new gen C63 yet. I have driven the previous gen and I loved it, however I wanted the AWD for year round driving.
      I will look into getting the C63s for a test drive and do a comparison as you ask. I think that’s a great idea for another video. Stay tuned, I will make some calls to arrange this :)

    Make no mistake, and in contradistinction to what is said here, you cannot beat the rumble of a 4-5 litre V8, especially when connected to the gear system by a dual clutch, the feel and connected drive are NOT and never will be the same as the drive of thgese kind of £ litres by Audi and even BMW, the 3 litre M3s. Its not all about the 0-60 times, its about the engagement which these engines and transmissions will never give you. the latest M5 v8 f90 is probably the most authentic feeling M car in modern times, because of its combination of rumble with planted drive feel

    The B8.5 V8 Audi RS5 hands down was a better car from the engine to the transmission. Audi took away the super fast DCT Stronic transmission, the new ZF transmission is noticeably slower. They even took away the active AERO wing in the rear that the B8.5 Has. It is a step back in every aspect besides the interior tech obviously. 2019 C63S Facelift and M4 are much better.

      The only thing better about the B8.5 was the sound and the fact you could get it in a stick. I traded to a 2018 RS5 and the transmission is actually very responsive, the car pulls way harder, and the wing was a gimmick (a cool one, but I don't miss it). That high revving B8.5 engine sounded amazing but it was hard to tune and way down on torque for its size. I kind of wish Audi had gone with a turbo V8 for this gen RS5, but the V6 will impress you enough you'll forget all about that V8 pretty fast. I did!
