This video reminds me of early 2000’s skateboarding video game intros. As someone who is disabled and grew up knowing a handful of amputees, this video means a lot to me. I also love the fact that they used footage from the songs live debut, which was the very first time I saw Metallica live!
Here in Italy, they've been broadcasting if darkness had a son since it's been released... I admit I'm kinda tired, there's plenty of other masterpieces in 72 seasons
As an amputee (who is working on again being some semblance of the strong, athletic person i used to be), thank you for this video. Disability is a very lonely place sometimes, in a world (and even sometimes in whatever community we're in) that doesn't understand, or treat us with humanity. As a person who has been on a Metallica journey since the teenage years, it wasn't until i became an amputee where that journey took on a different meaning, closer to the age of 50. 'Too Far Gone' has meant a lot to me upon first listen at the theater premiere (as a person who lives with mental health struggles); and now... seeing this video brought tears to my eyes, especially seeing the joy when achieving a trick after the hours of struggle- and in particular, the hug at 4:03. i have been greatly struggling in this new body, and i have been doing my best to find sparks wherever i can find it, to inspire me towards my journey of being the best person i can be. The footage of real human experiences as the 'outside world' looks on in curiosity (and sometimes mockery or scorn) was captured pretty well here. It also made me miss skateboarding... The acknowledgement of the disabled and deaf/hard of hearing communities during this 72 cycle means so much. Whoever reads this message, i sincerely thank you.
After 40 years of listening to Metallica, I’ve come to realize that this band is the best the world has ever seen. This video is phenomenal, and the band is truly next level. Long live Tallica!!!
Much better than the first video. Keep on, Pushing along. If one physically challenged person can overcome his disabilities, we can overcome and persevere through the fucked up shit we are going through (I apologise for swearing). This is the much needed push I required to get on through my unjust life of Misery. Thank you, Metallica, for everything. METALLICA FAN FOR LIFE!
Keep it up dude.. you're doing awesome!! 🤟 I was sober for 5 years but I recently had a relapse. but I'm working on getting sober again.. sober is definitely a better place to be. My favourite line from this song "it's time to believe that I don't need this!!"
That chugging riff under the chorus is the best moment on the album, wish the whole song were that-by far my favorite song on the album, was not expecting a video like this! killer stuff
Interesting how Too Far Gone? went from a deep cut quite far into the album to a live staple replacing the single Screaming Suicide and now getting a single release and a decent official music video.
Ever since release I've had a stronger liking to this song over Screaming. SS is cool and love the message but Too Far Gone just feels special imo. The No Remorse riff, the way James sings the verses with extra attitude, Kirk also turned back the clock with the soloing. This is truly one of their more complete songs tbh
Totally agree. My favourite and the video they used for the song on UA-cam should've been in the movie Premier, to give us at least something to watch instead of random shapes. Agree as well that it's really not a good video for something with a message quite powerful.
From what I understand, the band had input in some of the videos for certain songs & the rest was left to outside animators which the band had no control over. That's what I read anyway
Crown of Barbed Wire also deserve a new music video. Hope they release the music video that played on the premiere, it was much better than the animation we got later.
