For some reason, I couldn't get very far in either of those games(Salt & Sanctuary & Tales of Iron). I completely suck at parrying. I also didn't really like the heavy, slow controls in Tales of Iron, but I really wanted to like S&S. I just suck apparently. I'm almost done with 100%ing Blasphamous 2, and for some reason the second seemed harder than the first(at least in the beginning), particularly the boss fights. Then I remembered not to try to just take them, but instead to get your hits in and get out, get your hits in and get out, etc. The wait for Silksong is killing me though. I sort of wish that they didn't announce the sequel so early.
Ori and the will of the wisps is an amazing metroidvania game as well and is one of my favorites right next to metroid dread and prince of persia the lost crown.
Yes it is! I didn’t play it for a long time because I had just assumed it was for kids; with cute and cuddly characters and whatnot. However after it kept showing up on best of Metroidvanias I gave it a try and could not put it down.
@@LuciferHunter-kt7pm Right on! Ori and the blind forest got me through a rough recovery from a tonsillectomy when I was 26 with it's relaxing colors and music, so I extra loved that they put both games on the switch and on the same cartridge. . There's something truly special about those games that's hard to explain. Happy to talk to someone that appreciates Ori as much as I do. . . Cheers bud.
@@michaeledes1111 . . That's really cool! . . I don't have any cats, but if I ever get a white one I might have to borrow your idea because I really like it. 😁👍
i think u can and Bo : path of the teal lotus, he is just insane, i dont understand why nobody talk about him, its an hollow knight gameplay but more axed in plateform, absolute stunning graphismes, lot of quest, stunning booses in edo japan, really , my fav metroidvania on switch
I stopped playing Steamworld Dig 2. I think the reason I quit may have been because I had just played the original Steamworld, and was probably worn out.
Isn't SteamWorld Dig (the first one) also on Switch? Or just the second one? They're both incredibly fun, though a little more like DigDug or BalderDash, though they have Metroidvania aspects for sure and deserve to be mentioned. Also worth mentioning, the final fight in both of them is terrible. In the first one, it's a huge difficulty spike. In the second one, the difficulty bottoms out. Neither is worth doing, but everything leading up to it? Amazing. I love both of these games and they are both worth buying. (Note that while the final boss in 2 is super easy, there is a challenge dungeon that is super hard! Right of the town, fly up to it and prepare to test your mettle!) Castlevania also has the Classic Collection (NES games) and Dominus Collection (NDS games). Advance Collection is just the GBA games, which is fine. I just wish we could get Symphony of the Night as that was the best one, but Aria, Dawn, Harmony, and Portrait were all great games.
I just don't like the main character design in Blasphemous, the cone on his head is so distracting, I don't like it, I already know its logical explanation though. Why just don't put a helm or a crown of thorns, not a long thing. And if only Nine Sols was ported in NS it must be the number 1 in this list.
Ender Lilies is one of the best Metroidvania games I've ever played period. I really hope it gets an equally solid sequel.
If you have a PC you can try out an early access version of the sequel.
Earned a sub my friend. Labeled chapters, quick and to the point, well articulated, and tight editing.
Thanks! :)
Salt and sanctuary is my absolute favorit.
Tails of Iron is also great.
YES I LOVE Salt and Sanctuary so much!! Dark Souls meets Metroidvania!!

How did this list end up without Metdroid Dread, Ori (both games), Salt and Sanctuary, or Dead Cells??
Ender Lilies, Ori, Afterlife, Metroid Dread, Bloodstained....
It's super hard to name a top 10. My top 5 are..
Ori
Metroid Dread
Blasphemous
Steamworld dig
Hollow Knight
Afterimage is pretty good and both Ori games deserve a shoutout. Ender Lilies is one of my favorites.

They either had a toddler or an octegenarian record the gameplay for each game
Monsterboy for the win
Ghost song is top tier
Dead cells?
Worldless should have been on the list.
I just bought Dawn of sorrow at GameStop for $20! What idiot thought it was a good idea to trade that in????

Nine Sols is better than Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
F.i.s.t. , Bō , ghost song , moonscars
