- A remake of my previous Desert Storm cinematic. Now it looked way more better with DCS 2.7 with clouds and lightning.
Most of the scene were shot in the new Syria map & some in Persian Gulf. Because i notice most of airbase in Syria look almost similar to airbase in Iraq.
Song: Lion and the sun by Meteor for F-14B soundtrack

I still remember the combat scenes of AA fire on the news.
I was twelve at a weekly youth Bible study of all things. We just sat and watched the news.
Yessss sirrr.... the tracer fire from what looked liked 16 difrent rooftops in the city just filling the sky with tracers...then maby a week later we see a video of a lazer guided bomb from the point of the nose of that bomb falling right into a door or a smoke stack and at that time it was a great feeling. I was so proud to be an american kid .

Very realistic clip Rodz! Enjoyed every seconds of it. I was 18 years old when that war was triggered and remember following it closely. Subscribed!
Thank you for your support! It motivates me to do more cinematic! Warm regards.

That 1 dislike is probably from Iraqi commander.
Hahahaha! Most probably 🤣
The Iraqi spokesman Comical Ali: 'This video is a fabrication, the glorious Iraqi air force MiGs are sweeping the sky of American sky pirates'

This video is great. I love the soundtrack, the radio transmissions (the nostalgia is hittin hard) and of course, the visuals- They were spot on! Besides all of that, it shows how desperatly this game needs the A-6 Intruder and the Panavia Tornado.
How awesome would the Tornado and JP233 be in DCS
and F-111 also
@@Perturbator-nw9jw as soon as f111, tornado or f4 get added I'm buying no questions asked
@@untrust2033 an F-111F with the Pave Tack pod and GBU-28 would be AWESOME.
@@untrust2033 and the F-4E with the Pave Spike. We need more old TPods! The graininess and over-saturation is so satisfying.
Haven't been able to quit watching this since I stumbled upon it. This is better done than most professional trailers. Fantastic.
This is by far my favourite DCS cinematic i've seen. excellent use of radio recordings and Meteor's amazing track. Very well done!
Thank you for your kind words!
@@Rodz88 also accurate footage of Tomcats flying around looking cool but not getting to do a damn thing! 3:33
*they got to scare away bandits with their radars
Outstanding job! Great shoots and angles.
Thanks Beserker, i had to crack my head on doing this one. My storage full of shots i took for this cinematic. Now i can resume my next project - Vietnam Experience 2
I have watched many Desert Storm documentaries and this is so god dang accurate. GJ
Thank you!
Dude. This was excellent. Great work.
You should consider making some single missions. You clearly have a great handle on the mission editor.
Thanks man! Yeah, i had a thought about it too. My editor is full of cinematic stuff, should convert some to a full single player mission
@@Rodz88 Please do! Getting the cinematic feel is really difficult. You've nailed it!
Still my favorite DCS cinematic that shows a conflict to this day. I think the Desert Storm scenario is the most exploitable in DCS, the last war of the cold war, with modern, but still cold war aircrafts.
the bit at 4:00 was fucking gorgeous. Like it was captured straight from the time it took place.
man this is intense, could we get some historically accurate ww2 cinematics?
Yeah, i will once i have most of the module and map
I cant believe this is 30 years ago. Feels like yesterday!
Holy shit, that intro gave me goosebumps! Good jobs dude!
2:40 is my fav scene, excellent representation, some parts missing or misrepresented but ill let it slide for the quality
Oh yeah! Now this is what I've been looking for! Your audio work is great, I feel like it is rejected sometimes when people make cinematics. And of course, your visuals are awesome, better than many I've seen!
Thank you for your kind words!
I was 9 years old when Desert Shield turned into Desert Storm. I vividly remember watching CNN and seeing the beginning of the airstrikes on Baghdad. Watching the opening scenes of a war live was something new. It was jaw dropping seeing the night vision style footage of the explosions and the AA's firing into the air. That was also the worlds first real look at how lethal stealth bombers are
That was brilliant, Rodz! I only found this video just now. 3 years late, but still 😁
Thanks for dropping by! This is still the most popular video in my channel till date. Im thinking of going back on doing these kind of cinematics
My brain is still arguing either this footage is real or not
It's real I was the camera man
It was real i was a building that got attacked it hurt pretty bad but it looked cool
This is really well done. LOVE IT!!
smooth and pretty amazing quality, Good job !
The shot of the F-16's looked real, couldn't tell the difference.
Amazing rework of your original video, please keep making more of these❤️
Thank you! I guess it does takes some time and patience to learn the art of making cinematic
Very nice reaction bro! Love from Korea!!
Thank you my Asian brother! I subbed to your channel to support you
@@Rodz88Wow very very thank you!! T^T I will also always be your friend and subscriber😉
This is sick, good work!
One of my favourite DCS cinematic, great job!
Thanks! Im glad that you enjoyed it! 🥂
I really like this video, I really like the music, how it starts a bit oriental and then comes with a kick drum and a synth pluck xd
I've seen reports from veterans who say they enjoyed being part of this operation! As well as those who were in the air force and mainly in the M1 Abrans armored division advancing through the defensive line. They said it was an unforgettable experience, it was surreal and it lasted very quickly! It was 100 hours in total. And it's been 31 years now, I think whoever participated regardless of the division must have had An unforgettable experience! I'm from Brazil and I really like studying about this war, its vibe is different :)
I love how you included some of the most iconic photos in to the cinematography.
Nice video, loved the soundtrack!
Looks really epic and I love those radio communications! +1 like ;)
I remember it well, I was in the tri border are listening to "Something in the air tonight" on the AFN channel.
In between adverts on "The diddy bag.. part of your American military heritage".
Surreal times.
This has got to be one of my favorite videos on youtube
As a veteran of this conflict, I just want to say to the creator: "Great job! Very cool!"
Great job rodz!
Outstanding work. I remember that night like it was yesterday. The house phone rang and my dad was put on alert status. I was 13.... I marked it on my world map. Like I did with everytime my dad was sent overseas.
Little did I know I would be not far from there in Afghanistan a little over a decade later.
Oh wow oh wow I DON'T HAVE WORDS THAT WAS AMAZING
i love videos like these. DCS cinematics are so sick
Great job on the cinematic!
Wow great cinematic ! Love the radio chatters
The scene with the B-52s gave me chills. Such a cool aircraft.
Amazing job! I imagine it took a long time to make. You got yourself another sub!
Wow! FBI sub to my channel! Hahaha.
Thank you for your support! Yeah, it's a lot of work but with passion + little bit of free time, finally got the cinematic done.
i cant stop watching this video its so good. the dogfight scene and the b 52s were bad ass
Rewatching this. Amazing job!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 🍻
Desert storm. The single most effective military campaign ever waged in modern history. Perfectly represented in DCS.
Not quite effective, judging by the results. It was pretty much the sequel of Afghanistan...
@@daofoa6123 Yes quite effective. Are you sure you aren’t think of Iraqi Freedom? Desert Storm was in the 1990s and militarily was genuinely probably the most effective campaign ever. It was thought that it would be very hard, as Iraq in theory had one of the strongest militaries, which was also well experienced from the Iran-Iraq war, however in practice good planning from the coalition, and not so good planning from Iraq, made it an overwhelming coalition victory. They achieved all of their goals and at least all of them main countries involved with the coalition were incredibly effective. Now in terms of aftermath it was more debatable. They(the US, also some others) decided not to remove Saddam as they feared the country would go to shit if they removed him, but did place sanctions on the country due to their actions that caused the Gulf War, and then loosing it so badly, which were possibly a bit over the top. Saddam behaviour, with regards to the UN inspections also lead to retaliatory bombing strikes on nuclear industry from the USAF and RAF in the late 90s. So while in the short term the conflict was a massive success it didn’t end the issues in the region, it was still pretty volatile, and militarily and even further economical destroyed Iraq, which in part led to the later conflict, due to 1. Saddam still acting up, and 2. A much less international relations savvy George Bush deciding that a further invasion of Iraq is possible, and of course going ahead with it(also very military effective, but much worse political aftermath due to the fears that removing Saddam was dangerous(basically came true) and also likely bad planning for rebuilding). It also supposedly pissed off various people(I.e. supposedly Osama Bin Laden was very annoyed that Western countries were allowed in to defend Saudi Arabia, when he offered his militia or whatever, not sure how true it is, but supposedly he insulted the king over this and was kicked out of the country idk) who were likely to form insurgency groups due to them believing it to be undue Western meddling in the Middle East, even if at least on a generic international level it was largely justified this time around, in the specific 1991 conflict and aftermath(less so but an argument could be made, Saddam was clearly poking for a reaction though). So in Conclusion very very successful militarily and largely politically at the time and after, however it lay the seeds for later much less successful conflicts.
Very well done! Plse keep them coming. 👍
I am a warthunder player and DCS is one of my favorite games so watch i dont play but i love the game amazing cinematic ive always been obsessed on Desert Storm but amazing vid!
congrats. very nice made !

Beautiful thanks for sharing mate!!!
Thank you G. Skouras! Your work on your cinematic inspired me a lot!
Damn man, it's look like a Hollywood movie. Great work!
Fantastic work. Admittedly this makes me really want the Tornado GR1 in DCS.
Thanks! Tornado is coming soon to DCS World. Very excited for it, more cold war jets to fly with
We need a hole video or series from this
NICE WORK!
Great video, great song!
What is the name of the song ?
That vls launch scene form the arleigh burke at the beginning was just 🥵🥵🥵🥵
that was AWESOME!!!
Great video!
Awesome walleye. Don’t see enough of those bois
It needs the soundtrack we used while we were there...Damn Yankees - Damn Yankees and The Clash - Rock the Casbah
Very nice job that is the best cinematic I have seen for dcs middle eastern USA conflict.
If only the F-117 could be recreated in DCS as a full module, like the F-14...but I know that likely will never happen. :(
bro tis was o good i got goosebumps
What a great success
That was awesome.
That was great :)
Well done!
Sweet film, Rodz! ❤
Thanks Plokkum! You have great DCS videos too!
cool video, good job.

Thank you for your support!
what map was majority of this filmed on persian gulf, or syria? Which one do you think can bring the better atmosphere of Operation Desert Storm?
90% Syria. Only the scene where F16 drop the GBUs are on Persian Gulf
Syria map Airbases look almost alike to Iraqi Airbases in my opinion, it has good amount of desert & city to roleplay scud hunt / air strike on Baghdad
The music the visuals is lit
Great cinema 10 thumbs up!!!
Thank you!
GOD DMAN, BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it
Very cool! What weapon is that at 4:08? I wanna give that one a try in my hornet!
Its the AGM-62 Walleye. The used it during vietnam war & desert storm. It is a fun weapon to deploy!
Best clip!
Cn you tell me, how you get the AA firing straight into the sky without tracking a Plane ? Just for imagination and cool effects ^^
Hi! for any AAA under the advance waypoint - add - perform task - fire at point and you can manipulate the perimeters. Spudknocker and redkite did a good video tutorial on that too.
@@Rodz88 Thx a LOT :D
Nice...
3:57 DAMN
Amazing. Throat kick punch 🇺🇸👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #TEAMUSA
Good!!
Epic
Wow, great vid! How do you make those smooth and slow camera movements in DCS?
The use of free look camera with scrolling of the mouse wheel to manage the speed of camera movement. Head tracker plays an important role too here. It's my head movement that pan the camera to the follow the scene i want.
@@Rodz88 Thanks for the feedback. And congrats on having a very steady neck ;)
