@@diegosatori5718 Look up PC Music volume 1&2, it’s similar to this. They basically created hyperpop through a combination of idm and pop. Also look up SOPHIE and Charli XCX if interested. If you’re more of a fan of ari, definitely start with something Charli XCX made like Pop 2. If you came for aphex, you should be fine starting with pc music vol. 1&2, although u might even prefer something more experimental, in witch case, check out the Search Result EP by umru.
@@DMVGREY …literally yes. She doesn’t produce those beats, the instrumentals she uses are garage, pop tunes that were big in the uk 20 years ago. I’m assuming you live in America?
@@pancasonamusic pc music is hyperpop tho. And I feel like there are plenty of aphex twins songs that when mixed under an ari vocal would straight up sound ripped from a 100 gecs record. Anything harder like Come to Daddy or more experimental like Bucephelus Bouncing Ball would absolutely qualify as hyperpop imo.
not exactly tho. pc musics roots are bubblegum pop and experimental club music especially detroit scene. this is more like ibm/uk garage, sounds like it's taken from a lost burial mixtape or something. u could say they're both experimentalish genres that sample mainstream sounds but not exactly the same thing. sorry for the nerd rant
@@goeko2000 i mean tru, but it still gives similar vibes to me of combining experimental and pop music, and to me at least it feels kinda accurate. Pc music crew always felt like they were influenced as much by aphex twin as they were Ariana grande, and that’s where I feel the similarities. Even if they sound different, they still kinda feel similar, ya know? There not twins, they’re siblings or cousins or something. Definitely different, but still a part of the same musical family. That burial comparison is spot on tho, omg. (Also never apologize for music nerd rants, rant away!!! My first reply was a similar rant lmfao, and was even long and more pretentious than urs, so don’t sweat it lmao)
Ooh! If you enjoyed this, definitely check out Selected Ambient Works by aphex. Definitely his most approachable record. If you think your down with something harder, Come To Daddy will forever be the musical love of my life. Other similar artists: Check out the things related to the PC Music label, so much good music there, A.G. Cook and SOPHIE are the first artists that come to mind. But PC music Vol. 1&2 is where you want to start with PC, although Product by SOPHIE is a must listen. Charli XCX is great person to start off with if your just getting into this kind of music, (I’d recommend Pop2) and Arca is just an amazing experimental/deconstructed club artist, but can definitely be unapproachable at times. I’d recommend either kick i, kick ii, or kick iii to kick things off. Kick i has more of a vocalist/bjork/billie eilish vibe, but it’s the most diverse of the 3, so it’s great to get your musical boundaries. Kick ii is very reggeton and traditional deconstructed club (lotic, rabit, amnesia scanner, etc) so if you are familiar with those genres, you will love this. Kick iii is the most intense and most experimental of the 3, but it’s arguably the best. It has a lot of experimental hip-hop influence. Vibe wise it’s most similar to breakcore/drill n base or nicki manaj. (I know a bunch of music nerds are going to get mad at me for saying that but whateve) I know I spent so long talking about arca, but you may want to start with the Aphex twin, Charli XCX, or PC music records I talked about earlier. (But I mean if you enjoyed Come To Daddy you will love everything and anything Arca). I’m not trying to scare you off or anything, but this kinda music can be overwhelming for a newcomer and I would hate to see someone miss out on something they really could have enjoyed just because it’s a bit uncomfortable for them. I mean, you could listen to everything I’ve listed and come back loving noise music (which granted, I did lmao). I’m just trying to provide a more easy path through it all. Hope this helps! ^.^
Update based on hsotle’s comment: once you are ready for something more experimental, autechre and boards of canada are great. I’m also particularly fond of squarepusher and u-ziq, all great idm artists. Similarly, I would recommend some Venetian snares, even though he’s the father of the more light and bubbly and hardcore and frantic glitchcore and breakcore movements, his music still feels very connected to the sonic landscape of the idm world to me. Also check out bjork, she’s just a fantastic artist. The rest of Arca’s lineup is really worth diving into as well if your up for it, and the works by deconstructed club veterans like lotic, rabit, and eartheater are some of my favs. Hope you enjoy exploring some new musical landscapes!
It’s pretty funny cuz I remember my gateway to Aphex twin was a mashup of him and Taylor swift someone made years ago. Last generation’s pop star replaced with this generation’s…but always mashed with afx

Aint no price on my loyalty
No shit got me right where you want me
Baby, could I be more obvious
Ooh hard to think when I’m under you
Tell you all of my dirty truths
No shit got me right where you want me
Baby, could I be more obvious

If you’ve gotta work
Just promise me you’ll come back soon
Maybe you should pack a suitcase too, ooh

Getting steps up on the treadmill while you’re sleeping
Never thought I’d believe in love again
