That was amazing. My wife and I did that hike 3 or 4 years back. One of our favorites. Not much trash back then. But that sunset! Incredible. And I'm with the first commentor; the dedication to get those shots and then go back and get that camera.....If it makes you feel any better, it was worth it for me, being able to watch the great shots without doing the work. If you haven't, look into the Kalalau Trail. It will absolutely blow your mind.
I’m really surprised to hear you didn’t see trash. I spent a lot of the video trying to keep trash out of the shot. At our campsite someone left a tarp, some tent poles, and a pair of boots 😳. I’m all about the he shot till I’m not. Twoard the end I just filmed my wife on the ropes and didn’t bother setting up the camera for me. I was like “they get the point.” Lol.
I absolutely love the Olympic National beach trail. I’ve been there several times. Toleak is my favorite site along that stretch. Last time I hiked all in sandals and bare feet.
Wait wait wait!! Hold up hold up!! Can anybody recognise the COMMITMENT Steve went through going on those treks uphill, up a treacherous ladder and had to go BACK DOWN to get the camera for those shot?? Those slips up and down the paths: put the camera, set it up, do the shot up a ladder, put the backpack down to and somehow make it unharmed to the camera to retrieve it again? And then put the backpack on again?? The dedication is REAL!!! I know! I've done it! But not as extreme!!
@bluebellcrushedvelvet and @MyLifeOutdoors I did notice that. Steve goes through a lot of effort to get some cool shots and plays it off like it's no big thang but I have seen not evidence that he's got a cameraman. He is the man.
Dude! great shots and man I know you went through a ton of work to get them! I've had my eye on this trek for a while now...hopefully i can make it up there soon. But great video and great edit! keep it up dude!
My name is Gary Darnell. The pile of trash you showed represents about three years of removing trash off the beach from Scott creek to Toleak in the Olympic National Park.My efforts here will continue.I want to thank you for bringing attention to this issue.
Great shots on this one! What a truly majestic hike, even despite the trash you mentioned. Also, I laughed as you tipped your hat to the trailhead map at the end. I envisioned your best Tombstone Doc Holliday voice saying, “Madam, the pleasure was mine, and I bid you adieu.” 🤣

Hey Jerry! this is my good friend Steven! He's got some solid trip videos and gear reviews. I think he may be joining us on the Tonto Trail!

Haha! I do every trail twice! if you notice towards the end of the video you only see my wife on the ropes. So the commitment only goes so far!

One of these times I’ll actually take you with me.

Great video. So many folks I know think the best beaches are Hawaii or Mexico. To me the rugged coast are the best.
I agree. I like a good Rocky beach.

Yeah, you would love this hike. And I think your style would make a great video. Make sure to invite me when you make it happen.

That was one of the most beautiful sunsets!
Agreed!

Lol! Thanks. Now I’ll think about this every time I pass a trailhead map.
Great shots. A bit disappointed that there’s no ‘One-Eyed Willy’ comments though… 😀
That was one beautiful sunset!
It truly was!
Happy Thanksgiving! (Love the Pocket Rocket cameo)
Thanks. That pocket rocket is still going strong!
Looks like you could've opted for the hiking poles this go-round. Haha!
Except I’ve always got a tripod in my hands. 🤷🏼♂️
Donated!
My wife keeps asking me what are you laughing at? This dude back packing who keeps slipping on wet logs… We’ve all done it! Great video(s)!
Nice work going one at a time on the fixed rope... Oh, and the video, too 😉💪
Thanks
You should try those ropes when the bluff is muddy! Fun!!
It doesn’t look muddy in the video. But IT WAS! Even the rope was muddy. But I’m sure it could be worse. I can’t imagine it in the rain.
Dude, where are your trekking poles? Who-do-you-think-you-are Jupiterhikes? LOL I say that in jest, great video thank you.
Haha! I’m always holding a camera and tripod. Well except when you see me.
