Hi Elii. Sorry so long in responding, but I've been really busy teaching this semester. No, they are not the same. A 'syllogism' is an argument form (two premises and a conclusion). A CP is a particular kind of statement. A Categorical Syllogism is a syllogism made up of CPs. Hope that helps.
Perhaps. It really depends on the context. If I said, in the context of the video, "major proposition" that was just a slip on my part. In terms of a CS, it would be appropriate to use the term major/minor premise. But, those premises ARE propositions. Does that help?
