Thanks for checking out the Virtuous EP! I love all the songs on the EP and I have trouble picking favorites but Justice and Fireflies are so emotionally charged that they are the standouts for me. Music for me is an emotional experience, and unless your music makes me feel something it's just background noise, and Dreamcatcher ALWAYS delivers in this regard. I feel like Villains & Virtuous were conceived as a testing ground to try new things. With the departure of Leez and the girls moving into the second phase of their careers with their contract renewals it was time to dig deep and try new things. The instrumental experimentation, the vocal experimentation, and the introduction of new producers allowed them to try a bunch of new stuff and expand their capabilities. It also gave them the opportunity to see what works and what doesn't. My guess is that their next album (unless they do a Christmas album in December, which Jiu has been teasing) is going to be a full album and it's going to be wild.
To me, fireflies is the best DC ballad they have released so far. I've been waiting for them to do what they did. I listen to a few mamamoo and btob, so I am glad DC continues to improve.
