@@rustynuts82 I hope so, that bike is so much fun, reliable, easy to work on, the S version is really a big + for the Ohlïns suspension, it's like riding on a flying carpet;)
It's outstanding and underrated bike. I have second mts 1000. First I sold out at 55000 km, and bought another one. It ride like a sport tour and cab be able to drive trough the dirt if you need it
It must be a design classic. Although the GS is credited with being the first big capacity overlander, the MS took the concept in another direction. A MS really is the ultimate jack of all trades!
Totally underrated Ducati. This bike is a monster in twisty roads and very reliable. Design is unique and true, subject to discussion. Neverthless, looking to the japanese manga style or german looking, nothing wrong with this unique design. Riding is main purpose . This bike is made for; if possible quick ! Very good for those who know. You can enjoy a brillant motorbike for less money. Life is good, enjoy the ride.
Own the 620 dark version. Great all arounder, good commuter, weekend tourer with enough grunt to carry the occasional passenger. Swiss army knife is an apt comparison. Styling is definetly subjective, if you can get pass the looks there are plenty of deals out there.
Yes, very true. The TDM was bit of an odd ball too. It worked well. I think the Multistrada upped the performance threshold quite a bit compared to a TDM. But very similar bikes in concept, design and ability. I wonder if Terblanche took some inspiration from that model?
When it came out I did not like it much, especially the separation of the upper fairing that moves with the steering. Now I own a 1000 for the last 7 years and traveled half Europe with it. To my eyes, as in most vehicles, it has some viewing sides that are not very flattering and some others that is absolutely badass and stunning. The rear swing arm of 620 is not doing it any favors compared to the 1000's single arm.
Agree, some days I think its a looker, others not so much. But, for me at its launch in 1000 form it was a real milestone bike. Nothing else looked or performed quite like it. The 620 is cheapened somewhat in comparison with the 1000.
I owned a 1000 DS multi for a few years and it was a great bike although not very comfortable but after a few upgrades a much better bike, the screen on that bike isn't standard as its the first thing owners changed! I wish I had the space for another one👍.
@@rustynuts82 the 1000 and 1100 have a lot more grunt as you could imagine, I've watched another of your videos of a KTM 1190 which I traded the multi for!
Yes, reliable with the usual proviso’s! Most bikes are reliable with good maintenance. However, lots of bikes have regular issues due to manufacturers choosing poor components. Make sure the electrics are sound, cycle parts are generally good though.
I still have my old 2005 1000S MTS and it works insanely good, a very underrated bike
Hang on to it, I think they will become a desirable classic

Soooo cheap just now and many being broken for spares. Give it another ten years and they’ll be hard to find.
I love my 05 1000DS. It is a bike I will never get rid of. Funny enough, my license plate is “Ugly Duc” 😂
Saw one in mid Wales recently, two up full luggage. Still looks great out on the open road!
My black 2005 1000 DS with Terminognis and open dry clutch is still a great ride
Nice machine and an excellent real world review, well done
Some great info in there, almost made me want one
Love that
Very well put together. Shed interview is a yes from me 😆 watch those hamstrings Jase 😉
1991 Yamaha TDM 850. Same thing 12 years earlier.. nice video thnx.

BRILLIANT INTRO
Thanks….bit of messing about in the shed!

Yes, truly a milestone bike with a new approach in riding. A supersport like, able to do dirt road too. @@rustynuts82

Thanks for that info Gary. I’ve yet to try the 1000 or 1100 versions. I expect they go a bit! I’ll tell jase about his screen upgrade too.

Thank you! Usefull information.
Have a good one!
Bit like an ugly bird.
Not much to look at from the front but the rest looks good and it's a great ride.
Proper man analogy 😆
Sounds just like a bike for me - I love reverse cowgirl! 🤭🤣😂🤣
the sound is awful
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
