I used to play on a server with a nation called Bardonia, maybe a year ago or even longer, haven’t spoken to any of them since. I wonder if they’re the same people, I have many great memories of playing with them.

It's a Byzantine East Roman flag so that's why. Eastern/South Eastern Europe take a lot of inspiration from the Eastern Romans just as the rest of Europe to the west takes after the Western Roman Empire.
